I understand his quote perfectly. While true that beauty lies in the eye of the beholder, there isn't such thing as perfection. We all have flaws and with the right clothes, makeup and hairstyles we can all be beautiful. Accentuate the positive!

I've never been a fan of DB for reasons stated, so i dont't give a flying fig about his opinions regarding fashion or much else.

Really?  You never heard a version of that.  I was not born pretty either, I wasn't one of those pretty little blond girls with pink pouts and crystal blue eyes.  But my mom and my grandmother taught me that pretty can only get you so far.  What's really important is knowing how to dress well and accessortize and how to use make up.  Also I was taught early that every woman has an outstanding feature and smart woman accentuates.  So, from a young age, I never really worried about not being the pretty girl.  I was that attractive  girl with the amazing hair....and the straight A's.   That was my niche.

For years my mom and I had our hair dyed red....we loved red hair....

My mom died many years ago and I continued to dye my hair red...then i went to blond and then tired of the whole ordeal and let my hair grow out gray....lol

I could care less what DB thinks or says about beauty. I do believe the best fitting clothes, nice skin and hair make a super impression and is a great self esteem builder for men and women alike, even if you are not classically good looking.

My coats are made by Tommy Hilfiger.  Match that Dennis, that's right you can't! I get an impeccable fit from Tommy Hilfiger one that you'd envy and certainly have never achieved when selling to me.

WOW, talk about turning a thread around! How did his quote get caught up in whether the posters like him or not?

 Why? Dennis Basso, has acted and looked the same for years, who cares! His comment was made for all women for there inner and outer beauty, if he even gave one woman more encouragement all the more power! Maybe he reminded an older woman that she to has beauty,that she has forgotten!

Because he has no room to talk.  It was probably his mother that told him that quote intending it for him.
