So, I was expecting a package today from FEDEX. I got an email stating it was on the truck and out for delivery. Well, it kept getting later and later with no package in sight, tracking it it was still saying it will be delivered today. Well at 6:00 the email is updated to delivery tomorrow. I'm very disappointed. I wonder if packages out for delivery often get pushed to the next day?

@Jordan2. I dont have a lot coming FedEx, usually Bath and Body orders and I have had them arrive a day later than first promised.  Same senario. It happens. With a Holiday they may be behind or short staffed?

I used to order wine from Q during Covid as stores not well stocked. I had to be home waiting all day to sign and show Driver's Licence from FedEx. I quit that as  too much of a hassle. One time I  just missed him  and left a note. He tried a second time to find me  home which was nice as I'm sure he didnt care to keep the wine on his truck.

@Jordan2 I've had the same thing happen a couple of times...but only with FedEx. It has always been delivered the next day.

Not a fan of Fedex. I'm still waiting for a package that said it was out for delivery on 7/3. Last year a driver left a package of chocolates on the front steps of my apartment buillding in 91 degree weather when all he had to do was walk in the door and leave the package at the mailbox only about 5 steps from the door. A neighbor rang my doorbell with my package and thank goodness she was coming into the building a short time later. I filed a complaint with Fedex. Another resident of the building had the same thing happen, not sure if it was the same driver.

A couple of months ago or so Fedex delivered my package to another building in the complex and I filed a complaint so the company I was expecting the package from replaced the item and it was delivered. A week later the regular post office delivery person retrieved my original order and delivered it to me. Again, not a fan of FEDEX !!

@Goodie2shoes   weird, when I sent items, usually food to friends in other states , depending it is lousy service   Half the time it's late.  They put fudge in a mailbox, in NV in 98 degree weather, but told us it was on door step. The mailbox is far away and no one around their uses it. It says all packages to be delivered to door   Took us a couple days to figure that out. By then......   same fro ice cream. Came in still fozen state , but late for two days they said was on truck for delivery

in California , around me ..that is something UPS or Post office does, Fed ex is efficient   In fact Nordies switched from USPS after 30 years I can remember to FedEx here.

but, many times Fed ex says they are delivering , and I think it's too soon, that's awfully quick!   Sure enough, I get message it has been changed to next day

Happened just once with me.  Apparently, the packages are just too much.  They put the packages they estimate that the driver can deliver.  But situations arise sometimes, it's not that possible.  Drivers are under pressure to get the packages out.  While driving ways that are ordered by the company. (no left turns, etc)

@Jordan2 It drives me crazy!

Almost every delivery from FedEx follows this routine for me.

And it is down now, but probably still 50% of the time FedEx delivers to the wrong address.

I have a long driveway with my mailbox on the road (Like normal.).

It has my address on both sides of the mailbox.

I also have a large mailbox set slightly down my driveway with my address on it, so that drivers don't have to come all the way back.

I have given detailed instructions on all delivery sites about my deliveries.

You can leave it in the delivery box or you can bring it to my house, whatever.

50% of the time Fed Ex delivers to a neighbor.

I can somewhat excuse a delivery to a neighbor on either side of my driveway, BUT they mostly deliver across the road!!

Come on! Odds on one side.

Evens on the other?

Amazon & Fed Ex are so bad.

USPS & UPS, for me, are so great!
