Bird momma, I have been watching the berry eaglette, boy he sure is a chatter box. I bet he gets lonely being an only bobble. Mom just came back and fed him what was left off the fish that was there and now she is standing over him trying to keep him warm and dry. She's a good momma, he's all happy now!

Decorah lil ones are sure little cuties, still waiting on the 3rd egg. I havent been to the facebok page to see whats up, it doesnt look like it has pipped yet. Amazing those chicks survived the -20 air temps, -40 wind chill for days up there. There were nights you could see Ma just shivering away.

White Rock Ma and Pa lost an egg last Sunday, must have been cracked and then stuck to Pa. When he flew off the egg bounced down the inside of the nest, the video is at youtube. Very sad, still they will have 2, hoping the both hatch.

Sea Gal,

I was watching some of the Eaglecrest cams (I usually start at raptor resource's birdcam page and then check all of them). I saw a goose take off of the platform and 4 babies jumped after her. She left two babies behind to die - they were not strong enough to follow her. This is why I have to be careful when I tune it. I know it's the circle of life - I just have a heard time witnessing it first hand.

Photo: What a busy day! D20 isn't here just yet, but we have cuteness overload, voracious eaglets, close-ups of the pantree, and Mom dressing Dad with nesting materials. Come on D20, we are waiting on ya. Isnt 18 and 19 the cutest, thank you for the pic.

Aw that is so sad about the geese babies. You know, it makes you wonder why these parents dont try to help, they can carry large prey to feed the kids but they cant help them in distress. I watched a chicklette get to close to the edge and was trying to get back in, he struggled for awhile and then just gave up and down he went all the while mom was watching, eating. I just woke and my brain is not totally engaged lol so I am drawing a big blank which nest it was right now. I always think they should grab them by the knape of the neck like cats and dogs do but no. Strange huh?

I cant get the eaglecrest cams to work for some reason, I click and nothing. It is the only site w/ cams I have had a problem with. They sure have alot of different cams to choose from and it bums me out I cant see them.

Going to make my cam rounds while I sip my coffee!!

eta~ OK Bird Momma, I can get the eaglecrest cams, a block of about 9 cams come up and they just choose what they zoom on? I cant click on any of the individual cams from that screen, can you?

Please add the White Rock Eagles to your viewing pleasure, they are my favs. They are located at the Wa/Canadian border in Surry BC, they have a close up cam and a wide angle cam. Some of the most beautiful sunsets in the evening on the water there, Mom and Dad have 2 eggs, a 3rd broke last week. But it is a great pair to watch too, remember they are west coast time. When all the other nests are getting dark, not us!!

If you just go directly to hancockwildlife.org there is quite a few different type cams to view, please check them out when you have time. Smile

Thank you for the pics, Bird Mama! They are wonderful!! I can't watch the cams from work. So sad about those two baby geese...

Thanks for the new link, SeaGal. Since that leads to West Coast action, maybe I can catch the White Rock eagles from home in the evenings (my time).

Happy viewing!

Hi Rowan, you are welcome for the link, site. At the Hancockwildlife site you will see there is also a discussion forum at the tabs line up top of page for each of the different nests, I dont post but I usually check the last page or 2 to see what Mom and Dad, and chicks after hatching have been up to in their day. Kinda fun!

Also at the Hancock site on their homepage if you scroll down the page further there is a link to the Black Eagle nest in Johannesburg, So Africa, it is situated on a cliff side with a beautiful waterfall just of to the left of the nest. Mom is Emoyeni, she is approx 40 yrs old and Dad is Thulane, his is just 20 yrs old! With the time zone our days and nights are flipped with theirs, but it is still fun to check on them during their nesting season. Smile

Bird momma, I cant get over how cute that pic in post #23 is, what a couple cuties, love the way the one is looking up at the other, awwww! I saw D-20 come our of its shell yesterday, he/she was exhausted, bless its tiny lil heart!
