Yikes to - well, never mind that. It's painful (and scary) to see some people with such self-righteous judgmental views toward how OTHERS may live their lives.

I'm so glad she has the choice and if the time comes that she wants top make that choice, she can proceed on with retaining her dignity and going when she's ready.

I agree. I've been a Christian all my life, but it bothers me greatly to see those who forget about the reasons for separation of church and state, who forget that not everyone has the same belief system.

Did anyone read the first comment under the yahoo link? It's from a woman who's mother had the same disease and was given a short time to live. She chose to go through all the treatments and lived 19 years! Very interesting. But every person is different.

The same disease? Brain cancer is simply a broad umbrella. The location of the tumor determines the effects of the cancer and even really determines at what point symptoms appear. For anyone to "claim" they had the same disease or knows someone who had the same disease, tells me they are making false claims.

My husband died from brain cancer, and let me tell you, if my own personal walk with God wasn't so strong, the attitudes and responses of many so-called "Christians" I had dealing with during our battles and upon my husbands death would have made me a devout atheist. I actually had one woman tell me my husband died because WE didn't have enough faith in God's healing power. Guess she never learned that sometimes the answer is no, and that there are many reasons why someone is called home.

Several years ago I knew someone who was diagnosed with the same type of brain cancer as Brittany. That person was given a year and lived almost to the day the drs predicted. As the end got closer, the seizures got much worse. It really was just an awful thing.

I think Brittany is inspiring. As I watched her interview I thought I truly need to let go of lots of the little stuff that bothers me on any given day. It looks like she's very thankful for each day and for her loved ones.

(((Buck-i-Nana)) I had no idea. My condolences.

Yes, there are those who say incredibly insensitive things at times when we most need gentle kindnesses. I guess it's a dark part of life we have to try and overlook, and maybe forgive if we can.

(((Kalli))) I'm sorry for your friend's suffering, sad for those of you who loved this person.

I agree, this story and others should be a good reminder to all of us to pay attention to what really matters.

Life is a gift from GOD and it is NOT her life to take. I love how some of you all say that you support her in taking her own life and then in the next sentence you say things like, God be with her and God bless her. If you all truly believed in God, you would know that it is a mortal sin to take ones own life. God is the only one that has the power to take life away.

A gift from god!!!!!O.k give her life and then take it away in 27 yrs. after recently getting married and starting her life. Thanks for the gift god!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I,m glad she is waiting for her family and her furry friend. When it can no longer be bearable, she can decide . Remember Valerie Harper has six months with her brain Cancer and that was a year or more. She said it has been OK.

Genetics, lifestyle and just plain luck (good or bad).

Thanks, dooBdoo, for your caring comments. I prayed so hard for my friend, so many people prayed for an entire year. But as was already said, sometimes we just won't ever understand why some folks are called home when they're young and have everything to live for.

Today I donated a little money to two organizations that do good things in my area. I wanted to remember to be thankful for what I have and to be generous when I can.
