I do not mind it getting darker earlier.  When it is lighter longer, it is nosier too.  The sound of lawn mowers, hammers, saws go on and on from morning to night.  You would think I live in a undeveloped area but I don't.  Peace and quiet are more so in the darker hours for me and I do need that break.

I love it.  I live for it.  If they change to no daylight savings, I shall just continue to live with DST in my world.  I can do that!  I am retired!

Sounds so nice.  Will come and visit. LOL

I can't wait!!

I hate driving in the dark and try to avoid it.  I will be able to sit outside (once it gets warmer) and go out to eat for dinner and still be able to be home mostly when it is light out.

I can remember the year I got married in 1982 it wasn't until the end of April when they changed the clocks.  Now it's much earlier and this winter has been a bit more difficult for me than usual.  I'm glad that I didn't get sick though which would have made it worse!

I do little errands when the evenings are light out.  A quick trip to Costco, Target or the grocery store, return library books, pick up something for dinner.  It's nice to be out on a mild evening after the cold and dark winter.

Re: Daylight Saving time

[ Edited ]

I'll be recalculating my budget$$$ because with the rising spring/summer temperatures that will mean it won't get dark until around 930pm here in Texas, which means my A/C will be hard at work for an extra hour due to the additional sun time(heat), and my utility bill will INCREASE accordingly no matter what conservation steps I take. WE DONT NEED DAYLIGHT SAVING TIME IN TEXAS!!! 😡

My mom always made an interesting comment---- wouldn't it make more sense to do Daylight Saving Time in the WINTER to delay the darkness then instead of having it get dark at 430 PM! .????...Makes more sense to me 🤔

I'm a morning person so it doesn't really bother me much as far as doing anything extra in the added daylight.   Like others, maybe going out to eat dinner and being able to drive back while it's light out but that's about it.  I do all my running around early in the day, can't tolerate the busyness and traffic later in the day.   I do agree though, it seems unnecessary and I wish they would stop doing it!

The problem with permanent daylight saving time (which was tried before) is that some places will have sunrise very late during the winter.  Many people didn't like that aspect of DST.
