I've always enjoyed watching David.......until he stopped sampling the food. To me, it was when everything changed. It's as if he no longer enjoys the CWD because he just stands back and watches vs jumping in, having a bit, enjoying the taste, etc. For many who love cooking, the ability to taste and make sure it's just right is part of the enjoyment as well as then sitting down to what you've just created. David lost a lot of weight and part of that  was obviously changing his behavior regarding food. I get it, I do. I had to do the same thing to lose weight. EVERYONE I know who had to lose weight did the same thing.

He just appears bored (as others said); as if the joy is gone and it's all about the money and benefits now.

HSN would be an entire different world: different place (and yes the vibe IS different in FL compared to PA) and perhaps a different show. Plus, the numbers he would bring in. Whatever he chooses to do, I hope it brings him happiness.

I think nothing of it.  My parents had a place in NJ. My SIL has a place in NJ. My BIL has a place in DE as does my brother.  My sister has her place in FL.  My husband and I are more modest spenders.  Our summer place in here in PA.

Most of our friends have second places too. Some have houses, some condos and others mobile homes.

I don't read anything into David having a condo in Florida.

I once saw him crossing over the *forgotten mile* right before you come into Dewey from Rehoboth.  He was headed to Dewey on foot with a bunch of people.

@sunshine45   We owned a home in DB for over a decade and could hear all the hoopla at night from the Starboard.  At least once a night (weekend) the whole crowd would be singing *Flinstones!  Meet the Flinstones!*.  Yes, the whole song.

Was a wild and crazy town!  Haven't been there in years.

Maybe David's been offered a talk show. He would be good, articulate and knowledgeable.  Why not?  Seems everyone and their grandmother has one these days.

Home shopping channels are not what they used to be.....now they have competition with online shopping; the marketing folks know it.  I don't blame any hosts seriously considering all their options as it pertains to their employment and working futures.  The "audience" is no longer the OGs.....it is our adult children and/or grandchildren.  Business is business and now add in inflation, work at home, online schooling, major changes in our culture and world....it is all planned and companies must adjust.

Maybe he has a special someone in Florida that he visits.

@CindyDale  It's my understanding he has a condo in Florida & a beach house in I think Delaware so when he wants to spend a long weekend w/his 'bros' he's able to do that.  He works hard so he deserves to vacay.

He needs a month vacation! Look at the long hours they are working him and like his eating habits before he went on a diet - he ate to sell stuff - now his health is paying for it. He really looks miserable and I think it's from all those long hours. I'm sure he makes the big bucks but he will not be able to take it with him when he leaves this old world.

Would love to see the old happy David when he seemed to enjoy and having fun. He is like a robot now and the Q just likes the money he is bring to them. We all seem to like him and should wish him well on the trip to Florida. You never know - HSN might need some help in the finance dept with the viewers and sales he bring in.

@ellaphant right?  He's been there a very long time and I'm sure he has quite a bit of vacation time built up, not the normal 2 weeks.

Maybe being he is no longer eating carbs and not eating the food during the show, he has lost that connection, not being able to do his trademark happy dance while tasting the food. I don't watch many cooking or food shows.
