We had ten inches of snow yesterday in WI. It's been hoovering around zero over the past week. This is normal for winter. It's beautiful out today, other than the temp.

Firefighters too...they often end up covered in icicles in upstate NY!
I can't imagine!
But I purposefully didn't include firefighters & paramedics since they are only called out when needed. Police, on the other hand, are out driving on the ice/snow etc regardless if anything's going on.
No matter how you slice it though, it's a tough gig for all First Responders!

Glad I am not at the Packers Bears game. We got 8" of snow and are under a wind chill advisory. Sadly, there have been many accidents.

When firefighters aren't out actively fighting fires, they are out in the cold inspecting hydrants, digging them out of snowdrifts and making sure they are operable, responding to accidents and 911 calls and other duties. At least that's what they do here in my city.

Please go to heatholders dot com where you will find warm socks and gloves. Look at their menu with your cursor to see everything they sell. It's not all about socks when you land on their home page.

@LittleT in KC wrote:I had to go out yesterday and while I was wearing gloves my hands still hurt from the cold. All I did was pump gas and run in and out of a few stores. My heart goes out to people who have to be out in this. It's -4 in KC today. I love the Chiefs, but I wouldn't go to the game if I got free tickets. Not today. BUURRR. Stay safe, if you must be outside and live in cold weather.
I'm on the Kansas side of the state line and I hear you! I was wondering about all those people at the game too. I wouldn't do that for the world. At least the sun's out today!
