DH was offered a retirement package of "30 yrs. and out" with full health benefits in tact. We kept our health insurance and a pension. He is 75 now. He retired at 55. I asked him how he felt about this and he said, "well, it created a job for someone else and that is a good thing". In his case, it has worked out well for us.
I would think QVC would offer them some sort of a decent package deal to keep their reputation in tact. Hopefully they did.

Dan responded on his latest Facebook page that his termination would not break him financially or in spirit. He also said that his concern was for the other 398 employees who were not given the same blessings as he was. I take that to mean that he most likely received a generous separation package. The lesser paid employees who were laid most likely did not.

@BLH People should be able to retire when "they" decide to retire. I retired at 71 in order to reach the highest financial level (SS & pension) so I could feel financially secure due to an unexpected change in my life!

There's a petition on change.org to bring Dan and Carolyn back to QVC. Search for:
Bring back Dan Hughes and Carolyn Gracie to QVC
If we sign and circulate, maybe we can help bring them back.

After being let go, I seriously doubt Carolyn and Dan would come back.

They were laid off for a reason.
$$$$.
Workforce realignment, headcount reduction, expense reduction, cost savings....
Seriously, Qurate is not going to unwind this, in my opinion, view, estimation and analysis.

Nobody has been able to explain the reasoning though. Why hasnt the CEO come on air to explain himself ?
Was it age? Money? Poor Sales? Appearance?

@Reever- What? What is the fixation the the CEO? Your questions need to poised to the presidents of QVC and HSN.
The companies are doing poorly. All you need to do is read the financial reports and you'll now the reason.
Why these two? Well, why the others last year and not those two?
You're on FB. Both have already set up pages and asked people to follow them.
Most old QVC/HSN hosts return to t.v. in some sort of fashion.
