Been coming for quite some time now.

Not sure QVC can be fixed, this far into it.

First a heartfelt thank you.

They say all good things must come to an end. Whenever a door closes another one opens. And a stitch in time saves nine.

Okay, I don’t even know what that last cliché even means and I’m pretty sure it has nothing to do with the topic at hand but here goes anyway.

After a tenure of 33 years it has come time for me and QVC to part ways.

I say so with nothing less than gratitude to those who have supported me and worked with me over the years.

Even more so I want to express my appreciation to you, the viewers, who built this amazing community and I hope you continue to do so for many years to come.

It is time for me to focus fully on my writing. Spend more time with family and friends, and maybe tinker on a few projects which have sat on the back burner for way too long.

If interested, please follow me here on Facebook on my public page which is simply Dan Hughes (without the QVC part.) My profile picture is minus the goatee and I am wearing an orange sweatshirt with a golf hat. I only point this out since my name is a common one and I don’t want some poor guy in Kenosha Wisconsin unrelated to me wondering why he is getting friend requests.

It has been a wonderful and lengthy ride. More than I ever expected and as always I am humbled by your kindness.

Huge mistake QVC. Dan Hughes and Carolyn Gracie are your 2 best hosts. The company has gotten too politically correct and have lost sight of who their audience is. What a shame.After over 30 years with a company they would do Dan like this. I am DONE with QVC.

I see that poor Carolyn is also gone. I would love to know what the critieria is for the decisions. i saw first thing that the parent company of QVC was getting rid of 400 people. But I was thinking warehouse people and such, not long time hosts. Makes me sad.

The entire decision background is posted on the Q Talk thread, beginning with Qurate's announcement yesterday that as of March 1 400 were let go on HSN and QVC.

Dan Huighes and Carolyn both posted today on their private Facebook pages. The senior stylist posted and was let go Angelo I think. Shannon on HSN was let go.

Hosts are on contracts, so it may have been a decision not to renew some contracts, although it has also been posted by corporate that significant severnace packages and health care were given to all 400.

Qurate Investor Relations Press Release:

After careful consideration, we have made the very difficult decision to eliminate a number of roles within our Qurate Retail Group team, impacting our QVC US and HSN teams, and our corporate shared services teams in the U.S. Today will be the last day worked for most of these team members, although a small number will transition over time. Today’s impacts affect approximately 400 of our team members across these groups. These decisions are not easy but are necessary in realigning how we manage the business and heighten focus on critical priorities.
