No one should assume they know why any employee is leaving.  The company may have offered an attractive early retirement.   Many companies do that.  It could have also been the employee's choice.

Dan and Carolyn were likely among top salary earners having been tvere so long. Maybe Q is trying to cut costs.

HUGE mistake QVC! Why don’t you listen to your customers and get rid of the hosts that EVERYONE get annoyed by with their childish behavior and constant chatter about their family, talking over each other, etc?? Instead you dump two beloved longtime hosts! This is just the icing on the cake with all the stupid changes you’ve made since your new ownership took over!! Time to shop around!!

Carolyn and Dan, you will be missed.

My disdain for this company and the choices they are making is growing by the minute.

          As I stated on a Carolyn post, I hope it was his choice to retire.  I like Dan....he has a great sense of humor!

I have posted several times on the Carolyn thread so I won't rehash all of that on this one.  However I will say that if QVC did a better job of hiring new, tolerable, intelligent, professional, well-spoken hosts, it wouldn't be such a tragedy when the older ones are asked to move on.

I grow more disappointed in QVC everyday.  Out with the OLD ....employees and CUSTOMERS.  They are focusing on NEW, YOUNGER and TRENDY! Good luck with that...younger people in my family never watch QVC. Programs with multiple hosts are not enjoyable to watch. I am very disappointed to hear Carolyn and Dan have been let go.  I do not watch much anymore and I think I am done for good now.  Waste of time.  It used to be good but those days are over.  

Best wishes to Carolyn and Dan!  You are better off...and you will be missed.....oh, wait, I won't miss you because I won't be watching!  Thanks for all the good times you gave us as hosts.

I too am sorry to see them go whether they volunteered for or were were offered a package.   I hope they were.  PA is an at will state so QVC has options for letting people go.  Downsizesings is one being used extensively in tech layoffs.
