Daily Positive Thread for Wednesday

There is no real happiness without God and no peace when we separate
ourselves
from Him. Lord, You said, "Peace I leave with you, My peace I give to you".
I give you my troubled heart.

Scripture for the day:
"Let the same mind be in you that was in Christ Jesus, who, though he was in
the form of God, did not regard equality with God as something to be
exploited, but emptied himself, taking the form of a slave, being born in
human likeness. And being found in human form, he humbled himself and became
obedient to the point of death-- even death on a cross." ~Philippians 2:5-8

Meditation for the day:
Divine control and unquestioning obedience to God can lead to a good
spiritual life. Divine control means absolute faith and trust in God, a
belief that God is the intelligence and love that controls the universe.
Unquestioning obedience to God means living each day the way we believe God
wants us to live, constantly seeking the guidance of God in every situation
and being willing to do the right thing at all times.

Prayer for the day:
I pray that I may always be under God's control and practice unquestioning
obedience to God. I pray that I may be always ready to serve God.

Hello my friends! how was your day!! God answered our prayers this
morning at our meeting - and we are going to re-fi and we got our house off
the market! God is Good! We just have to rely upon Him, and try not to get
our emotions all in the way, and our will in His way!! He always knows what
is best. We will re-fi for another 10 years! Ever hear of a 10 year arm? I
never did until this morning. We had Lori here for a late lunch, and that
was always nice, and later tonight she invited us over for a game, and we
went. Didn't stay long, but long enough. Nice she still thinks highly of
us to invite us over every once in a while. So today was lots of blessings
for us. Hope for you, too.

Aging and Maturing Don´t Always Arrive Together
by Monsignor Dennis Clark, Ph.D.
Dt 31:1-8 / Mt 18:1-5,10,12-14
We first encountered Moses when he was an infant being rescued by the
pharaoh’s daughter from a basket floating down the Nile. And as the book of
Exodus unfolded, we watched Moses slowly evolve from an arrogant young
courtier who thought nothing of committing murder to a man with quite a
different view of life and of himself. In today’s reading, we see the
finished product of a life of living, most of it reverently in the presence
of the Lord. How remarkably Moses changed! How clear he had become about the
faithfulness and the trustworthiness of the Lord.
Watching Moses’ lifelong saga unfold challenges us to ask where our own
journey has led us thus far and where it yet needs to go. Is there excess
baggage that needs to be abandoned at the side of the road? Are there holes
in our inner fabric that need to be mended or filled in? For every human
being, the answers to those questions will always be "yes" as long as we’re
in this world. The Lord understands this (even if we don’t!) and he urges us
every day to have no fear of looking within, for he has promised that,
whatever the task, whatever the challenge, we will always have what we need
for the work of the day. Trust that and open your eyes as Moses did.

Wisdom of the Saints
"God gave us faculties for our use; each of them will receive its proper
reward.
Then do not let us try to charm
them to sleep, but permit them to do
their work until divinely called to
something higher"
St. Teresa of Avila

"The things that we love tell
us what we are"
St.Thomas Aquinas

"Lord, make me an instrument of your peace;
where there is hatred, let me sow love;
where there is injury, pardon;
where there is doubt, faith;
where there is despair, hope;
where there is darkness, light;
and where there is sadness, joy."
St. Francis of Assisi

"We will either accuse ourselves
or excuse ourselves."
St. John Vianney

"Preach the Gospel at all times.
If necessary, use words"
St. Francis

"The tongue is a small member,
but it does big things.
A religious who does not keep silence will never attain holiness;
that is, she will never become a saint"
St. Faustina

"I want my tongue to praise God
without cease. Great are the faults
committed by the tongue.
The soul will not attain sanctity
if it does not keep watch over its tongue"
St. Faustina

From Him and Through Him
Today, dear Jesus, when my thoughts get complicated
and I start to think too many things,
whisper to me the simple truth that it is all
from you…through you…to you.
from Catholic Mom 24/7: Daily Meditations for Busy Mothers

Happiness
They tell the story of the old dog who saw a puppy chasing its tail, and
asked: "Why are you chasing your tail?"
Said the puppy, "I have mastered philosophy." I have solved the problems of
the universe, which no dog before me had rightly solved.
I have learned that the best think for a dog is happiness. And happiness for
me is my tail. Therefore, I am chasing it. And when I catch it, I shall have
it."
Said the old dog: "my son, I also have paid attention to the problems of the
universe in a small way. And I, too, have formed some opinions. I, too, have
judged that happiness is a fine think for a dog; and that happiness is in my
tail. But I have noticed that when I chase my tail, it keeps running away
from me. But when I go about my business, my tail comes after me. And so
does happiness!"

WORTHLESS...PRICELESS

"You are worth more than many sparrows." - Luke. 12: 7
I give my all to a project. Still, I fail. I strive to be holy. Yet,
I sin. I serve the Lord to the best that I can and for this I have been
persecuted, ridiculed, insulted, maligned, suspected, charged,
conspired against, ganged-on, crushed, chopped, ground, pulverized.
I am a loser. I am a worm. I am worthless.
Then, my son comes up to me and tells me, "You know, Dad, I'm
the luckiest boy in the world. Why? Because you're my Dad! You're a
good man, Dad! You're the best!
Then, my wife sits down with me and shares, "Love, Auntie just
called up to tell me that the best decision I made in life is to
marry you. And she's right. I can't imagine life without you."
Then, my mom calls me up and with a croaking, crying voice, she
whispers, "I love you. I'm so proud of you. You've made our family
whole and complete!"
Then, I close my eyes, shed a tear, and pray, "Thank you, God,
for making me a very, very important person."
I AM A WINNER. I AM LOVED. I AM PRICELESS!

Chamber of Prayer
Lord God take me there
Where You and I can share
Our innermost thoughts in prayer
With all my problems bare
For as I seek Your face
You lift me with Your grace
You surround me with Your light
And give me renewed sight
Lord God take me there
Where You and I can share
Your Kingdom yet to come
And the love we have for Your Son
The peace and calm You give
Almost seems unreal
Then I remember the place
You've brought me with Your grace
It is when You take me there
To that secret Chamber of Prayer
And expecting a miracle there
You show how much You care
Lord God gently lead me there
To that secret Chamber of Prayer
Shower me with Your fountain
Miracles in answered prayer
