Hello my friends, Well today he left for Dallas - he's flying right now. I talked to him while he was at the airport. He was really looking forward to this trip to come back with Darla to make her trip easier. Beautiful day out today - I picked a few strawberries, I'll have that in my yogurt tomorrow. Soon the raspberries will be ready and that will be super nice! We won't have to buy much fruits then, just bananas and some oranges, hopefully my blueberries will be good this year and we can get some before the birds do. We had some deer sausage before he left, he grilled it, they are in patties, and there was two left, I put them in the food processor and ground them up and made myself a nice hotdish - and was that ever good!!! I have some left-overs for tomorrow. May you always find that Jesus lives in your heart if you only ask Him to, and He's always with you in everything you do.
In your search for peace, look within. If you are looking elsewhere,
you are looking in the wrong place. Lord, help me to open my heart
to Your gift of peace and refuse to let anything in that disturbs it.
Scripture for the day:
"Strive first for the kingdom of God and his righteousness, and all
these things will be given to you as well." ~Matthew 6:33
Meditation for the day:
"Strive first for the kingdom of God and his righteousness, and all
these things will be given to you as well." We need not seek material
things first, but seek spiritual things first and material things will
come to us, as we honestly work for them. Many of us seek material
things first and think they can then grow into knowledge of spiritual
things. We cannot serve God and earthly things at the same time. The
first requisites of an abundant life are spiritual things: honesty,
purity, unselfishness and love. Until we have these qualities,
quantities of material things are of little real use to us.
Prayer for the day:
I pray that I may put much effort into acquiring spiritual things. I
pray that I may get right spiritually and enjoy the many gifts around
me.
Yesterday, Today and Tomorrow
There are two days in every week we should never worry about, two days that
should be kept free from fear and apprehension.
One is yesterday, with its mistakes and cares, its aches and pains, its
faults and blunders. Yesterday has passed forever beyond our control.
All the money in the world cannot bring back yesterday. We cannot undo a
single act we performed, nor erase a single word we've said. Yesterday is
gone.
The other day we should not worry about is tomorrow, with its impossible
adversaries, its burden, its hopeful promise and unknown performance.
Tomorrow is beyond our control
Tomorrow's sun will rise either in splendor or behind a mask of clouds - but
it will rise. And until it does, we have no stake in tomorrow, for it is as
yet unborn.
This leaves only one day - today! Anyone can fight the battles of just one
day. It is only when we add the burdens of yesterday and tomorrow that we
break down.
It is not the experience of today that drives people mad. It is the remorse
of bitterness for something that happened yesterday, and the dread of what
tomorrow may bring.
Make TODAY the best day it can be,
and live one day at a time!

HOW HEAVY IS YOUR BAG?
One of my teachers had each one of us bring a clear plastic bag and a
sack of potatoes. For every person we'd refuse to forgive in our life,
we were told to choose a potato, write on it the name and date, and put
it in the plastic bag. Some of our bags, as you can imagine, were quite
heavy.
We were then told to carry this bag with us everywhere for one week,
putting it beside our bed at night, on the car seat when driving, next
to our desk at work.
The hassle of lugging this around with us made it clear what a weight we
were carrying spiritually, and how we had to pay attention to it all the
time to not forget, and keep leaving it in embarrassing places.
Naturally, the condition of the potatoes deteriorated to a nasty slime.
This was a great metaphor for the price we pay for keeping our pain and
heavy negativity!
Too often we think of forgiveness as a gift to the other person, and
while that's true, it clearly is also a gift for ourselves!
So the next time you decide you can't forgive someone, ask yourself...
Isn't MY bag heavy enough?
And when you stand praying, if you hold anything against anyone, forgive
him, so that your Father in heaven may forgive you your sins. - Mark 11:25

Unfailing Prayer to Saint Anthony of Padua
"Blessed by God in his Angels and in His Saints"
Saint Anthony of Padua
O Holy St. Anthony, gentlest of Saints, your love for God and Charity for
His creatures, made you worthy, when on earth, to possess miraculous powers.
Encouraged by this thought, I implore you to obtain for me [your request
here]. O gentle and loving St. Anthony, whose heart was ever full of human
sympathy, whisper my petition into the ears of the sweet Infant Jesus, who
loved to be folded in your arms; and the gratitude of my heart will ever be
yours.
Amen.
Mother Teresa said...
It is important to gain self-knowledge as part of spiritual growth - to know
yourself and believe in yourself means you can know and believe in God.
Knowledge of yourself produces humility, and knowledge of God produces love.
Meditations by Padre Pio
During the rioting of the passions and adverse events, keep in mind the dear
hope of His unlimited mercy. Let us run with confidence to the tribunal of
penance, where He waits for you at all times with the anxiety of a father;
and although we are conscious of our debt towards Him, let us not doubt the
solemn pardon of our sins. Let us bury them as our Lord has done (CE,18).

Good morning!
In the middle of chores so I will make this short & sweet.
My cousin and Uncle are flying this afternoon to California to see their brother and son, the cousin I have that is on the heart/lung transplant list. He doesn't know they are coming so he will be shocked to see them. I'd appreciate it if you included them in your prayers. Thanks!
Peace and blessings to all. Have a wonderful day.

Cakers - I bet those were good grapes and raspberries - soon our raspberries will be ready. Strawberries are coming along good, not much yet, but there are a few. Last year Linus trimmed the raspberry bushes and they're going good now - filling out, and tiny little raspberries on on - it won't be too long!!
Bobbiesue - great news about your eye!!! Yes! Prayers do work!!! How's the COPD? Hope it's better now.
Harlene - thanks for praying for their safety. Linus just called, Greg is coming home for lunch to see them yet and right after that around 1 PM they will start driving home. Praying the weather won't be bad, no storms at all on the way.
Lucy - Oh my! What a nice surprise for him!! Praying for them all. Let us know how it was.
