Daily Positive Thread for Wednesday

Hello my friends!! This is a blessing week!! - Went to Mass this morning and Adoration, and Ray and Ann were there too, but we didn't get a chance to visit afterwards, so she called and invited us over tonight for supper!! So in less than an hour we'll be with them, our best friends!! Then yesterday our former neighbors, Tom and Patty, invited us over for Thursday night supper - when I asked what I can bring, she just said to bring Linus! Another friend couple, Karen and Ron, are their neighbors so they are also invited, and they want to teach us the game "Carble". Ever hear of it? It's with cards and marbles! Sounds interesting. Linus s busy, busy, busy these days, he has a few days off so he's cleaning our garage for our Anniversary - there are some cupboards he wants to make too with the help of his brother. Well - thought being we'll be gone early, I wanted to get this thread out because I don't know when we'll get home tonight. Hope you enjoy it and post your blessings, too, ok? Prayers continue for all of you!

You can become more peaceful and a more interesting person by having

a healthy attitude and accepting your responsibilities. Lord, help me to

remember that life is what we make of it.

Scripture for the day:

"Where two or three are gathered in my name, I am there among them."

~Matthew 18:20

Meditation for the day:

Wherever there is true fellowship and love between people, God's

spirit is always there, as the divine third. In all human

relationships God's spirit is what brings them together. When a life

is changed through the channel of another person, it is God, the

divine third who always makes the change using the person as a means.

The moving power behind all spiritual things, all personal

relationships between people is God, the divine third, who is always

present. No personal relationships can be entirely right without the

presence of God's spirit.

Prayer for the day:

I pray that I may be used as a channel by God's spirit. I pray that I

may know that God is always there to help me.

jOB INTERVIEW

“…the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in my name, will teach you all

things and will remind you of everything I have said to you.” – John 14:26

I really, really wanted the job. I had been through one exam and three

interviews, and I still had no idea if I got the job already. My friends who

were already working in the company told me that I would not go through that

many interviews unless they had plans of hiring me. But who knows, right?

The night after my third interview, I got another call from the company. But

I did not know if it was another interview or a job offer because I didn’t

hear it well. It turned out to be another interview, which I learned when I

reported to their office the next day. Another one? I thought, suddenly

feeling nervous. And it was with the bosses from the USA! What if they don’t

like me?

As I watched the first guy go to the phone to get interviewed, I sat on my

chair, worried. But a calming voice whispered, “Do not worry! You know what

to say. I have given you everything you need.” I felt peace in my heart as I

waited for my turn. A few minutes later, I was done. Not only did I answer

correctly, I was called the next day for the job!Tina Matanguihan

REFLECTION:

God has given you everything you need for the moment, and He has sent the

Holy Spirit to remind you of it. Don’t worry!

Holy Spirit, please always remind me of God’s teachings.

Words of Encouragement

Ask and It Shall Be Given!

Mark 11:24

Therefore I tell you, whatever you ask in prayer, believe that you have

received it, and it will be yours.

In today’s verse we find Jesus saying something that sounds exactly like

what Miss Watson told Huck Finn in yesterday’s Word of Encouragement. The

difference is that this statement exists in the context of the entire

teaching and life of Jesus as St. Mark is reporting it to us. Jesus, for

instance, would not recommend praying to God for the damnation of your

enemies and your own salvation, since in the next verse he specifically says

we must forgive “so that your Father also who is in heaven may forgive you

your trespasses.” Likewise, we cannot pray for the power to worship Mammon

well or for God to do neat tricks with the laws of physics just to entertain

us. As ever, the “whatever” Jesus mentions presupposes that what we are

praying for is in accord with what God wills. That said, we must also note

that this is still a huge “whatever” and that history is replete with

examples of saints who prayed very big things in accord with God’s will and

who got what they asked for. Today, dare to ask, in union with Christ’s

Holy Church, for the gigantic realities of faith, hope and love to change

your world in a real and concrete way. God will listen and act in Christ

Jesus. He promises.

Heaven's Grocery Store

A two minute read.......

Read this story, and follow the recommendation at the end...

As I was walking down life's

highway many years ago

I came upon a sign that read

Heavens Grocery Store.

When I got a little closer

the doors swung open wide

And when I came to myself

I was standing inside.

I saw a host of angels.

They were standing everywhere

One handed me a basket and said

"My child shop with care."

Everything a human needed

was in that grocery store

And what you could not carry

you could come back for more

First I got some Patience.

Love was in that same row.

Further down was Understanding,

you need that everywhere you go.

I got a box or two of Wisdom

and Faith a bag or two.

And Charity of course

I would need some of that too.

I couldn't miss Some Faith

It was all over the place.

And then some Strength

and Courage to help me run this race.

My basket was getting full

but I remembered I needed Grace,

And then I chose Salvation for

Salvation was for free

I tried to get enough of that to do

for you and me.

Then I started to the counter

to pay my grocery bill,

For I thought I had everything

to do the Masters will.

As I went up the aisle

I saw Prayer and put that in,

For I knew when I stepped outside

I would run into sin.

Peace and Joy were plentiful,

the last things on the shelf.

Song and Praise were hanging near

so I just helped myself.

Then I said to the angel

"Now how much do I owe?"

He smiled and said

"Just take them everywhere you go."

Again I asked "Really now,

How much do I owe?"

"My child" he said, "God paid your bill

a long long time ago."

This poem has been sent to you

with love and for Blessings.

Prayer to Jesus

O Christ Jesus,

when all is darkness

and we feel our weakness and helplessness,

give us the sense of Your presence,

Your love, and Your strength.

Help us to have perfect trust

in Your protecting love

and strengthening power,

so that nothing may frighten or worry us,

for, living close to You,

we shall see Your hand,

Your purpose, Your will through all things. Amen.

God want us to be H.U.M.B.L.E.!

"H" is for the HUMILITY to acknowledge we are sinners in need of a Savior.

Jesus Christ is his name!

"U" is for UNITY. He wants us to be united as brothers and sisters in love.

He wants us to "bear with one another lovingly". (See EPH 4:1). We must

"bear with one another" because we are sinners with the strengths and

weaknesses that come with being human.

"M" is for MISSION. We must understand His mission for us as a Church

community and as individuals in the Body of Christ. We must continuously

seek God's will in our lives and then DO IT! ("When all is said and done,

more is said than done!")

"B" is for BOLDNESS. We must be bold in sharing God's love with others. We

must be willing to take the risk of being rejected. Rejection will happen to

us just as it happened to Jesus. We never know how the Holy Spirit may be

using us to plant seeds in another person's life even though we may

initially experience rejection. Be BOLD for Jesus!

"L" is for LOVE. Love God will all your heart, mind and soul and love your

neighbor as yourself. P.S. - Don't forget to love yourself. God made you in

His image!

"E" is for EVANGELIZE! It is the mission of the Church and everyone in it.

Tell the world and those around you that God loves them, that Jesus loves

them so much he died on the cross for them and that he sent the Holy Spirit

to purify us, to make us holy and to empower us to carry out his mission for

us with charisms!

Remember, God wants us to be H.U.M.B.L.E.

Humility, Unity, Mission, Boldness, Love, Evangelize!

Joe Boroden

Meditations by Padre Pio

Let us look with profound gratitude at that sublime mystery which attracted

the Heart of Jesus to His creature with such force; let us look at the great

condescension with which He put on our own flesh to live the miserable life

of this earth in our midst; let us muster up all the forces of our intellect

to consider worthily the tenacious fervour and hardship of His apostolate,

to recall the horror of His passion and martyrdom and to adore His Blood…

royally offered to the last drop for the redemption of mankind; then with

humble faith and the same ardent love with which He surrounds and pursues

our soul, let us bow our impure foreheads at His feet (GF,170).

Mother Teresa Said...

God is everywhere and in everything and without Him we cannot exist.

Re: Daily Positive Thread for Wednesday

I just wanted to drop by and tell everyone hello. I tried posting Monday and somehow...I don't know...it was gone before I knew it. Frustration set in so I just said...FORGET IT!!! lol It was a good post too! lol

I've had the grandsons today, they played on the tablet and computer and I painted a bench. It is a bright blue...baby blue I guess would be the color. I think it is pretty but daughter says it is too bright. Well...it's my yard and that is ok. I have a plant stand that I was going to paint the same color but I've decided I am going to paint it yellow. Shake things up a bit. lol

I think about y'all throughout my day and always say a prayer for you and your needs. I ask the Lord to bless my sweet Q friends.

Thanks for all of your thoughts and prayers. I appreciate them and you.

Have a nice evening and restful night and I will check in with y'all later.

BTW...Welcome, spookyghost. Happy to have you here. You've come to a nice place.

Be still, and know.
