Hello my friends! It's been a good day today until I got a text message from Darla saying it needs a lot of prayers yet, the Dean is playing dirty, and denies saying she could have a better wage, and is only offering her the lowest. The thing is, they don't give raises, what they agree on is a fixed income. Please pray he'll come up with a fair wage for her so she can come back home!! Thanks so much for the prayers!! I'm praying for you all too, daily. Today we got the garden tilled, and planted - Linus did it all, except we hired someone to till. Let's see now, potatoes, carrots, onions, cabbage, radishes, kale, collard, tomatoes, and more I can't think of right now. Oh ya, lettuce and cucumbers. Now to watch it all grow! It's my husband's pride and joy to do that every morning - taking Sammy along to check things out.
Live today so that you will make life better for those around you. You will
end up making your life better too. Lord, You teach that it is in giving
that
I receive. May I always have a generous spirit.
Scripture for the day:
"Now, discipline always seems painful rather than pleasant at the time, but
later it yields the peaceful fruit of righteousness to those who have been
trained by it.
Therefore lift your drooping hands and strengthen your weak knees, and make
straight paths for your feet, so that what is lame may not be put out of
joint, but rather be healed." ~Hebrews 12:11-13
Meditation for the day:
I can learn to accept self-discipline. I can try not to yield one point
that I have already won. I need not let myself go in resentments, hates,
fears, pride, lust or gossip. Even if my self-discipline keeps me separated
from some people who are without discipline, nevertheless I can carry on. I
may have different ways and a different standard of living than some others.
I may be actuated by different motives than some people. But I can try to
live the way I believe God wants me to live, no matter what others say.
Prayer for the day:
I pray that I may be an example to others of a better way of living. I pray
that I may carry on in spite of hindrances and setbacks.

If you never felt pain, then how would you know that I'm a Healer?
If you never went through difficulties, how would you know that I'm a
Deliverer?
If you never had a trial, how could you call yourself an overcomer?
If you never felt sadness, how would you know that I'm a Comforter?
If you never made a mistake, how would you know that I'm forgiving?
If you knew it all, how would you know that I will answer your
questions?
If you never were in trouble, how would you know that I will come to
your rescue?
If you never were broken, then how would you know that I can make you
whole?
If you never had a problem, how would you know that I can solve them?
If you never had any suffering, then how would you know what Jesus
went through?
If you never went through the fire, then how would you become pure?
If I gave you all things, how would you appreciate them?
If I never corrected you, how would you know that I love you?
If you had all power, then how would you learn to depend on me?
If your life was perfect, then what would you need Me for?
THANK YOU, GOD!
I was taught a lesson that just six simple letters could make a
difference.
Those six letters made the word - SILENT.
Those letters when rearranged also spell the word - LISTEN.
I never truly understood that until the day I stood silent and
learned there was more to life than everyday living.
When you don't take the time to listen and be silent then
everything is easily taken for granted.
The things I wasn't silent for and listened for, I now miss the
most. A simple I love you from my child.
The request of a loved one that I was too busy for at the time.
Little did I know, that if I stayed quiet and savored things,
I could have imprinted their voices in my mind and made memories that would
have lasted.
The one thing I always will be thankful for is that I learned my
lesson and heeded the call. But also that God truly is silent
and listened for my every need, but in return if I'm silent,
I can also hear from Him.

Judge Me by the Footprints I Leave Behind
A story is told about a soldier who was finally coming home after
having fought in Vietnam.
He called his parents from San Francisco.
"Mom and Dad, I'm coming home, but I've got a favor to ask.
I have a friend I'd like to bring with me."
"Sure," they replied, "we'd love to meet him."
"There's something you should know the son continued,
"he was hurt pretty badly in the fighting. He stepped
on a land mined and lost an arm and a leg. He has
nowhere else to go, and I want him to come live with us."
"I'm sorry to hear that, son.
Maybe we can help him find somewhere to live."
"No, Mom and Dad, I want him to live with us."
"Son," said the father, "you don't know what you're asking.
Someone with such a handicap would be a terrible burden on us.
We have our own lives to live, and we can't let something
like this interfere with our lives. I think you should just
come home and forget about this guy. He'll find a way to
live on his own."
At that point, the son hung up the phone. The parents heard
nothing more from him.
A few days later, however, they received a call from the
San Francisco police. Their son had died after falling from a
building, they were told. The police believed it was suicide.
The grief-stricken parents flew to San Francisco and were taken
to the city morgue to identify the body of their son. They
recognized him, but to their horror they also discovered something
they didn't know, their son had only one arm and one leg.
The parents in this story are like many of us. We find it easy
to love those who are good-looking or fun to have around, but
we don't like people who inconvenience us or make us feel
uncomfortable. We would rather stay away from people who
aren't as healthy, beautiful, or smart as we are.
Thankfully, there's someone who won't treat us that way.
Someone who loves us with an unconditional love that
welcomes us into the forever family, regardless of how
messed up we are.
Tonight, before you tuck yourself in for the night, say
a little prayer that God will give you the strength you
need to accept people as they are, and to help us all be
more understanding of those who are different from us!!!
There's a miracle called -Friendship- that dwells in the heart.
You don't know how it happens or when it gets started. But you
know the special lift It always brings and you realize that
Friendship Is God's most precious gift!
Friends are a very rare jewel, indeed. They make you smile
and encourage you to succeed. They lend an ear, they share a
word of praise, and they always want to open their hearts to us.
Show your friends how much you care....
Send this to everyone you consider a FRIEND!
If it comes back to you, then you'll know you have a friend for
life.

Harlene - you bet that was a kick in the gut!!! All we can do is pray that he'll come to his senses - why even bother sending out applications if they don't want to pay a living wage? So if you said that before - I didn't remember that it is neuropathy in your feet! Can that be cured? I'm so sorry to read that!! My plantar's wart is nothing like that - just a nuisance.
Bobbiesue - Blessings! How do you feel today? Hope better and pray that God is answering your prayers.
Serenity - Sorry you've had a case of food poisoning. My hubby had that with some eggs at a restaurant! Glad you used the past tense, and you're better now and back with us. Yes, sure do hope and pray Darla gets a fair salary!!

Hello Ladies:
Just wanted you to know that your/my prayers are indeed working. Although we didn't get the best news, the good news is that there is a medication that can help him if he can tolerate it. It is something new, and hopefully it will keep his problem at bay. Sometimes I think God answers, but in his own way. It was a grim situation that now seems to have a light at the end of the tunnel.
Thank you all for your prayers and thoughts. Please continue to send them his way since the next hurdle will be his tolerance of the medication. We aren't out of the woods yet.
I continue to keep all of you in my prayers, and a special prayer for Darla. Again thank you.

{{{shorelady and DH}}} Keep the faith - it will be ok.
Gloriajean: Kind of mixed messages given to Darla - I wonder if he yapped before getting approval from the Board and now they say "no" and he can't go against them. Very frustrating and I hope it isn't because she is a female!!!!!!!
serenity: Not a good thing - glad you are better.
bobbiesue: Hope you are doing ok today.
Harlene and Felicia: Sorry you both suffer with neuropathy.
I have a busy rest of the week through Monday, so I'll stop by more likely late at night.

(shorelady and Dh!) Praying - May God answer our prayers!!! Please, Jesus!! Prayers are continuing
Cakers - I wonder, too, why the mixed messages to Darla. Don't make sense, just more aggravation for her to endure!
