Daily Positive Thread for Wednesday

Hello my friends! This will be short as we are leaving shortly to go out to eat with his brothers and sisters again for another birthday celebration, this time it's mine, little late, but that's fine! We're going for a chicken buffet. Today's blessings - it did stop raining, but it's cold out, and it might rain again tonight, there is talk of some snow but I hope it's just talk and that's all!! Day 1 with taking care of Ollie - he slept well in the kennel last night and that's his only place to sleep at night - good thing he doesn't seem to mind. At home he sleeps with Lori. Lori and her friend, Christine, landed in Wash. DC and were headed out by shuttle to West Virginia this morning for the week Seminar - got her text.

Leaving now!! God bless each and every one of you!!!

Do not leave for another day a task which God would have you do today.

Lord, give me the determination to not procrastinate and the joy to do my

work well.

Scripture for the day:

"The greatest among you will be your servant. All who exalt themselves will

be humbled, and all who humble themselves will be exalted." ~Matthew

23:11-12

Meditation for the day:

We can remember that the first quality of greatness is service. In a way,

God is the greatest servant of all, because God is always waiting for us to

ask for help in all the good work we do. God's strength is always available

to us, but we can ask it of God through our own free will. It is a free

gift, but we can sincerely seek it. A life of service is the finest life we

can live. We are here on earth to serve others. That is our mission, and a

sign of how well we do God's work here on earth!

Prayer for the day:

I pray that I may cooperate with God in all good things. I pray that I may

serve God and others and so lead a useful and happy life.

ONE GUY DIDN'T

Three guys were tried for crimes against humanity.

Two guys committed crimes.

One guy didn't.

Three guys were given government trials.

Two guys had fair trials.

One guy didn't.

Three guys were whipped and beaten.

Two guys had it coming.

One guy didn't.

Three guys were given crosses to carry.

Two guys earned their crosses.

One guy didn't.

Three guys were mocked and spit at along the way.

Two guys cursed and spit back.

One guy didn't.

Three guys were nailed to crosses.

Two guys deserved it.

One guy didn't.

Three guys agonized over their abandonment.

Two guys had reason to be abandoned.

One guy didn't.

Three guys talked while hanging on their crosses.

Two guys argued.

One guy didn't.

Three guys knew death was coming.

Two guys resisted.

One guy didn't.

One.

Two.

Three guys died on three crosses.

Three days later.

Two guys remained in their graves.

One guy didn't.

CASTLES IN THE SAND

By Sally I. Kennedy

I will show you what he is like who comes to me and hears my words and

puts them into practice. He is like a man building a house, who dug

down deep and laid the foundation on rock. When a flood came, the

torrent struck that house but could not shake it, because it was well

built. But the one who hears my words and does not put them into

practice is like a man who built a house on the ground without a

foundation. The moment the torrent struck that house, it collapsed

Luke 6:47-79

Before the sun was up too high in the heavens, and it was hotter than

blue blazes, my grandaughter and I ventured down to the beach.

Right away we noticed a beautiful sandcastle! It had survived the

night somehow. Even though it was intricate and had obviously taken

some time to do, the rising morning tide would surely wash it away.

We can build our lives on many things. Possessions, money, business,

identity. They will all, one day, be washed away. We didn’t bring

anything into this world, and we can’t take anything out of it –

except our relationship with the Lord. That is forever.

I thought about an action Sunday school song the kids used to sing:

The wise man built his house upon the rock… ……and the rain came

tumbling down. The rain came down and the floods came up….…. and the

wise man’s house stood firm.

But- the foolish man built his house upon the sand…., and the rain

came tumbling down. The rain came down and the floods came …, …..and

the foolish man’s house went SPLAT!!

So -build your life on the Lord Jesus Christ.........and the blessings

will come down. The blessings come down and the prayers go

up........so- build your life on the Lord!!

As beautiful as the sandcastles of our lives may be, they are still

just that: sandcastles. How awesome we can build our lives on the love

of the Lord and the principles of His Word.

That is good news.

Matthew 6:19,21 “Don’t store up treasures here on earth, where moths

eat them and rust destroys them, and where thieves break in and steal.

Wherever your treasure is, there the desires of your heart will also

be.”

He Knows Your Name!

When you are having problems

And feel there's no help around.

First take one step forward,

To get to higher ground.

If you think that God doesn't hear you

Then that, is really a shame

Not only does He hear every prayer you say;

But He knows you, by your name.

It does not matter just where you are

When you call upon the Lord.

He will be listening with a well-tuned ear

And will understand every word.

Be ready to listen to what He says,

As He tells you what to do.

For that will be your instructions

Because the rest will be up to you.

You should thank Him for His kindness,

Because He was standing by.

And not as you thought; He had turned away

And would never, hear your cry.

Even though you have made so many mistakes.

He will not hold you to blame.

For now, you are fully forgiven.

And remember, He knows your name.

Re: Daily Positive Thread for Wednesday

Every day is a blessing!

Prayers for my precious baby grandson are working. Please keep them up my dear prayer partners. I pray for you and yours. May God's will be done. In case you don't know my grandson was born with an extremely rare vision disorder. His optic nerves are twisted and it can cause total blindness. However we know that is not the case. He can see.

Praise His Holy Name.

At five months old he tracks with his eyes. He reaches for his toys and has favorite toys that he seeks out and reaches for. He is such a happy baby and full of joy. He is sunshine to all around him. He is such a blessing. The eye experts says it will take years to know the exact damage to his vision. It not something that can be surgically corrected in any way. Eyeglasses will not help since the problem is the optic nerve.

So I guess only a miracle will do. I believe in miracles.

I beg you to be my prayer warriors and to continue to reach out in prayer for Holy intervention and healing.

I wish joy and happiness for you and your lives.

I love you all. Go2girl

Re: Daily Positive Thread for Wednesday

go2girl - Thank you!! It was fun! The chicken dinner was awesome!! Chicken, roasted or deep fried, dressing, mashed potatoes and gravy, two different kinds of vegetables, corn and green beans, salad, cranberries etc., had a glass of red wine with it. The buffet was 8 dollars so that wasn't so bad. Your poor grandson! Let us all here on this thread pray he receives his eye sight and that soon there'll be improvement daily! St. Odilia is the patron Saint for eyes, praying to her to intercede - prayers of the Saints are powerful. In the Name of the Holy Name of Jesus, may He heal him. Prayers continue.
