Daily Positive Thread for Wednesday

Praise the Lord!! God answers prayer and I want to share with you all that today Linus got the appliance job he's been waiting for! All in God's Timing! We prayed that he'd get it if it was in God's Will, and it was!! He had a good interview and starts working there on Thursday afternoon! Thank you, Jesus!! Thank you, Mary! I prayed to Mary too, for her intercession! This was the biggest blessing of this day. We also got up to 40 degrees outside! That's wonderful!! He's hired for about 20 hours a week and if he wants to exceed that he can! Isn't God wonderful? His boss is in our parish here! So at almost 75 years old my dear husband is starting a new job - doing what he loves!

Not only must we know God's will, but we must do God's will to enter

the Kingdom of Heaven. Lord, I commit myself to obeying the will of

my heavenly Father.

Scripture for the day:

"You show me the path of life. In your presence there is fullness of

joy; in your right hand are pleasures forevermore." ~Psalm 16:11

Meditation for the day:

"In your presence there is fullness of joy; in your right hand are

pleasures forevermore." We do not find true happiness by looking for

it. Seeking pleasure does not bring happiness in the long run, only

disillusionment. We need not seek to have this fullness of joy by

seeking pleasure. It cannot be done that way. Happiness is a

by-product of living the right kind of life. True happiness comes as

a

result of living in all respects the way we believe God wants us to

live, with regard to ourselves and to other people.

Prayer of the day:

I pray that I may not always seek pleasure as a goal. I pray that I

may be content with the happiness that comes when I do the right

thing.

HAVING MOM OVER FOR DINNER

Brian Hester invited his mother over for dinner. During the course of the

meal, Brian's mother couldn't help but keep noticing how beautiful Brian's

roommate, Stephanie, was. Mrs. Hester had long been suspicious of a

relationship between Brian and Stephanie, and this had only made her more

curious. Over the course of the evening, while watching the two react, Mrs.

Hester started to wonder if there was more between Brian and Stephanie than

met the eye.

Reading his mom's thoughts, Brian volunteered, "I know what you must be

thinking, but I assure you Stephanie and I are just roommates."

About a week later, Stephanie came to Brian and said, "Ever since your

mother came to dinner, I've been unable to find the beautiful silver gravy

ladle. You don't suppose she took it, do you?"

Brian said, "Well, I doubt it, but I'll send her an email just to be

sure."

So he sat down and wrote, "Dear Mother I'm not saying that you 'did' take

the gravy ladle from the house. I'm not saying that you 'did not' take the

gravy ladle. But the fact remains that one has been missing ever since you

were here for dinner. Love, Brian."

Several days later, Brian received a letter from his mother that read, "Dear

Son I'm not saying that you 'do' sleep with Stephanie, and I'm not saying

that you 'do not' sleep with Stephanie. But the fact remains that if she

were sleeping in her own bed, she would have found the gravy ladle by now.

Love, Mom"

LESSON OF THE DAY... NEVER LIE TO YOUR MOTHER!

Daily Prayer

Lord, our God, may your Son reign in our minds

so that we may think as He would have us think.

May He rule our hearts

so that we may love as He would have us love.

May He direct our whole behavior

that it may be more like His.

Lord, for what we have, we are so grateful.

Help us especially to be sensitive and generous towards

others.

And finally, may we really want your Kingdom to come.

Amen.

You Are Very Special

In all the world there is nobody, nobody like you. Since the beginning of

time there has never been another person like you. Nobody has your smile,

your eyes, your hands, your hair. Nobody owns your handwriting, your voice.

You're Special.

Nobody can paint your brush strokes. Nobody has your taste for food or music

or dance or art. Nobody in the universe sees things as you do. In all time

there has never been anyone who laughs in exactly your way, and what makes

you laugh or cry or think may have a totally different response in another.

So - You're Special.

You're different from any other person who has ever lived in the history of

the universe. You are the only one in the whole creation who has your

particular set of abilities. There is always someone who is better at one

thing or another. Every person is your superior in at least one way. Nobody

in the universe can reach the quality of the combination of your talents,

your feelings. Like a roomful of musical instruments some might excel in one

way of another but nobody can match the symphonic sound when all are played

together. Your Symphony. Through all eternity no one will ever walk, talk,

think or do exactly like you. You're Special.

You're rare and in all rarity there is enormous value. You're Special and it

is no accident you are. Please realize that God made you for a special

purpose. He has a job for you to do that nobody else can do as well as you

can. Out of the billions of applicants only one is qualified. Only one has

the unique and right combination of what it takes and that one is you.

You're Special!

WHAT GOES AROUND, COMES AROUND

Author Unknown

The man slowly looked up. This was a woman clearly accustomed to the

finer things of life. Her coat was new. She looked like that she had

never missed a meal in her life.

His first thought was that she wanted to make fun of him, like so many

others had done before.

'Leave me alone,' he growled.

To his amazement, the woman continued standing. She was smiling --her

even white teeth displayed in dazzling rows. 'Are you hungry?' she

asked. 'No,' he answered sarcastically. 'I've just come from dining

with the President. Now go away.' The woman's smile became even

broader. Suddenly the man felt a gentle hand under his arm.

'What are you doing, lady?' the man asked angrily. 'I said to leave me

alone.

Just then a policeman came up. 'Is there any problem, ma'am?' he

asked.

'No problem here, officer,' the woman answered. 'I'm just trying to

get this man to his feet. Will you help me?'

The officer scratched his head. 'That's old Jack. He's been a fixture

around here for a couple of years. What do you want with him?'

'See that cafeteria over there?' she asked. 'I'm going to get him

something to eat and get him out of the cold for awhile.'

'Are you crazy, lady?' the homeless man resisted. 'I don't want to go

in there!' Then he felt strong hands grab his other arm and lift him

up.

'Let me go, officer. I didn't do anything.'

'This is a good deal for you, Jack,' the officer answered. 'Don't blow

it.'

Finally, and with some difficulty, the woman and the police officer

got Jack into the cafeteria and sat him at a table in a remote corner.

It was the middle of the morning, so most of the breakfast crowd had

already left and the lunch bunch had not yet arrived. The manager

strode across the

cafeteria and stood by his table.

'What's going on here, officer?' he asked. 'What is all this. Is this

man in trouble?'

'This lady brought this man in here to be fed,' the policeman

answered.

'Not in here!' the manager replied angrily. 'Having a person like that

here is bad for business.'

Old Jack smiled a toothless grin. 'See, lady. I told you so. Now if

you'll let me go. I didn't want to come here in the first place.'

The woman turned to the cafeteria manager and smiled. 'Sir, are you

familiar with Eddy and Associates, the banking firm down the street?'

'Of course I am,' the manager answered impatiently. 'They hold their

weekly meetings in one of my banquet rooms.'

'And do you make a goodly amount of money providing food at these

weekly meetings?'

'What business is that of yours?'

'I, sir, am Penelope Eddy, president and CEO of the company.'

'Oh'

The woman smiled again. 'I thought that might make a difference' She

glanced at the cop who was busy stifling a giggle. 'Would you like to

join us in a cup of coffee and a meal, officer?'

'No thanks, ma'am,' the officer replied. 'I'm on duty.'

'Then, perhaps, a cup of coffee to go?'

'Yes, ma'am. That would be very nice.'

The cafeteria manager turned on his heel . 'I'll get your coffee for

you right away, officer.'

The officer watched him walk away. 'You certainly put him in his

place,' he said.

'That was not my intent. Believe it or not, I have a reason for all

this.'

She sat down at the table across from her amazed dinner guest. She

stared at him intently. 'Jack, do you remember me?'

Old Jack searched her face with his old, rheumy eyes 'I think so - I

mean you do look familiar.'

'I'm a little older perhaps,' she said. 'Maybe I've even filled out

more than in my younger days when you worked here, and I came through

that very door, cold and hungry.'

'Ma'am?' the officer said questioningly. He couldn't believe that such

a magnificently turned out woman could ever have been hungry.

'I was just out of college,' the woman began. 'I had come to the city

looking for a job, but I couldn't find anything. Finally I was down to

my last few cents and had been kicked out of my apartment. I walked

the streets for days. It was February and I was cold and nearly

starving. I saw this place and walked in on the off chance that I

could get something to eat.'

Jack lit up with a smile. 'Now I remember,' he said. 'I was behind the

serving counter. You came up and asked me if you could work for

something to eat. I said that it was against company policy.'

'I know,' the woman continued. 'Then you made me the biggest roast

beef sandwich that I had ever seen, gave me a cup of coffee, and told

me to go over to a corner table and enjoy it. I was afraid that you

would get into trouble. Then, when I looked over, I saw you put the

price of my food in the cash register. I knew then that everything

would be all right.'

'So you started your own business?' Old Jack said.

'I got a job that very afternoon. I worked my way up. Eventually I

started my own business that, with the help of God, prospered.' She

opened her purse and pulled out a business card. 'When you are

finished here, I want you to pay a visit to a Mr. Lyons. He's the

personnel director of my

company. I'll go talk to him now and I'm certain he'll find something

for you to do around the office.' She smiled. 'I think he might even

find the funds to give you a little advance so that you can buy some

clothes and get a place to live until you get on your feet.

'If you ever need anything, my door is always opened to you.'

There were tears in the old man's eyes. 'How can I ever thank you?' he

said.

'Don't thank me,' the woman answered. 'To God goes the glory. Thank

Jesus... He led me to you.'

Outside the cafeteria, the officer and the woman paused at the

entrance before going their separate ways. 'Thank you for all your

help, officer,' she said.

'On the contrary, Ms. Eddy,' he answered.

'Thank you. I saw a miracle today, something that I will never forget.

And... And thank you for the coffee.'

If you have missed knowing me, you have missed nothing. If you have

missed some of my emails, you might have missed a laugh.

But, if you have missed knowing my LORD and SAVIOR, JESUS CHRIST, you

have missed everything in the world .

Have a Wonderful Day. May God Bless You Always. And don't forget that

when you 'cast your bread upon the waters,' you never know how it will

be returned to you.

God is so big He can cover the whole world with His Love and so small

He can curl up inside your heart.

Hello to All!

Well, won't wonders ever cease! I have held the requests for all in my highest and best thoughts. Of course Linus would be called - it was a job made for him at 75 years young.

I have a recommendation at this time - if you can, rent or view the movie 'Miracle'. It is appropriate for all ages and it is a film on an actual event that took place here in the USA. I found it rather uplifting and for me motivational.

I give thanks and have deep and sincere appreciation for this nation, her people, her strength, generosity and resolve. She is resilient and good. We have the finest and most outstanding troops, good allies, fine liberties, rights, and privileges. For any and all facing obstacles and challenges, know you are loved and that you matter. Be at peace.

I would request from you, your best of thoughts for my dealing with a man as you would understand is as 'stubborn and hard hearted as the pharaoh' in the bible. He makes progress but doesn't trust life and resorts back to his ways which affect many. His name is Skip and he is loved but he could sure use some good prayerful thoughts to help him through his personal battles.

Good afternoon!

I hope everyone is having a great day.

It is good to hear that Linus got that job, I know you are both so proud.

God knows what is best. As hard as it is sometimes, all we have to do is to have faith and trust God...a little patience is needed, too. God is good.

I will keep Skip in my prayers, LR.

Be still, and know.
