Daily Positive Thread for Wednesday

Hello my friends! Well it was -24 this morning when I got up, but it warmed up and tomorrow it should be up to 30 degrees above zero - quite welcomed for sure! I do hope our below zero temps are over now and Spring is on the way. What a great blessing Spring is! I'm feeling better - praise the Lord! Appetite still can be approved and tomorrow night we all are going out to celebrate Linus' brother's birthday - hope my appetite will be good. But today I am feeling stronger and much better than yesterday! I managed an afternoon nap, yesterday I was tired all day! Thanks everyone who is willing to pray for Darla's phone interview Thursday morning - We do hope and pray she and Greg can make the move back to Mpls this summer. Let's all pray for some good news. Good news for us all!!

It is very humbling to realize that often what burdens us the most would be

very missed if it were taken away. Lord, I will take the time to appreciate

my life.

Scripture for the day:

"'Come to me, all you that are weary and are carrying heavy

burdens, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you, and learn

from me; for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest

for your souls. For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light.'"

~Matthew 11:28-30

Meditation for the day:

We can lay upon God our failures and mistakes and shortcomings.

We need not dwell upon our failures, upon the fact that in the past

we have been nearer a beast than an angel. We have a mediator

between us and God. Our growing faith can lift us up from the mire and

point us toward the heavens. We can still be reconciled with

God. We can still regain our harmony with God and God's will for

us.

Prayer for the day:

I pray that I may not let the beast in me hold me back from my spiritual

destiny. I pray that I may rise and walk upright.

PRAYER FOR THE PRESENT MOMENT

Dear God. I spend so much time reliving yesterday or

anticipating tomorrow that I lose sight of the only time

that is really mine - the present moment. You give me

today one moment at a time. That's all I have - all I ever

will have.

Give the faith which knows that each moment contains

exactly what is best for me. Give the hope which trusts

You enough to forget past failings and future trials.

Give the love which makes each moment an anticipation of

eternity with You. We ask this in the name of Jesus who is

the same yesterday, today and forever. Amen.

Does Prayer Change Things?

They say that prayer changes things, but does it REALLY change anything?

Oh yes! It really does!

Does prayer change your present situation or sudden circumstances?

No, not always, but it does change the way you look at those events.

Does prayer change your financial future?

No, not always, but it does change who you look to for meeting your

daily needs.

Does prayer change shattered hearts or broken bodies?

No, not always, but it will change your source of strength and comfort.

Does prayer change your wants and desires?

No, not always, but it will change your wants into what God desires!

Does prayer change how you view the world?

No, not always, but it will change whose eyes you see the world through.

Does prayer change your regrets from the past?

No, not always, but it will change your hopes for the future!

Does prayer change the people around you?

No, not always, but it will change you~the problem isn't always in

others.

Does prayer change your life in ways you can't explain?

Oh, yes, always! And it will change you from the inside out!

So does prayer REALLY change ANYTHING?

Yes! It REALLY does change EVERYTHING!

If we feel...

If we feel...

...it is not fair that some are better off although

undeserved,

...it is not fair that some are always more lucky for no

good reason,

...it is not fair that some get away with anything while

we have have to account for everything,

then we should ask ourselves...

...is it fair that many people in the world have little or

nothing to eat while we take food for granted?

...is it fair that many people are not even lucky enough

to have proper shelter?

...is it fair that a faultless man had to be crucified to

account for our wrongdoing?

God has for you -

A Light for every shadow

A Plan for every tomorrow

A Key for every problem

A Balm for every sorrow....

Faith Is Stronger Than Fears

Sometimes my cross is hard to bear

for there is darkness everywhere,

and troubles pile around my door

like autumn leaves forevermore.

The morning light seems far away,

like I am stuck in yesterday,

My heart is beating like a drum,

I try to pray, but words won't come.

But then the sun begins to rise

and hope is born within my eyes.

A rainbow forms among my tears,

my faith is stronger than my fears!

Re: Daily Positive Thread for Wednesday

Felicia - Thanks! I am feeling alot better now - and tomorrow morning (Thursday) Darla has a phone interview for Metro State U in Mpls. Praying that place or St. Thomas will bring her home again to stay! So glad you can see your kids more often. I can't see why you wouldn't have full custody anyway! You deserve it!!

Harlene - yes! We put our trust in Our Lord and Mary!

Bobbiesue - hope everything went well as you ventured out today again - and thanks! We both are feeling a lot better - praise the Lord!

Emmiesmom - welcome to our thread!!! It was such a joy to see you here and hope you can visit us again and let us get to know you! Welcome! Come back!

Serenity - This certainly has been a long, hard winter for more people than just us here, I see, and that's scary for those who are not used to ice storms.
