Daily Positive Thread for Wednesday

Hello my friends! Just talked to Lori - she is feeling better so that's good news! Still doing her exercise plans with the machine with her trainer, and we are praying she loses all the weight she needs to (20 lbs.) to get her money back! Two more weeks to go. Today's blessings - very needed good nap - felt better then. Just been feeling blah lately with this food plan, I find that I need to have carbs at supper! So I am. Those sweet potato fries that my husband makes on the grill are so wonderful! Coconut oil and salt and pepper, that's all. With our patio, and a window that opens there, he can grill all year long and that's a great blessing too!! He loves grilling alot!! That's great that he does, cuz I never do. We are quite the team - he does the grilling and I do everything else on the stove or make a salad. Praying for all you requested, my friends. you are included in our prayers. Yes, we pray together.

In your search for peace, look within. If you are looking elsewhere,

you are looking in the wrong place. Lord, help me to open my heart

to Your gift of peace and refuse to let anything in that disturbs it.

Scripture for the day:

"Strive first for the kingdom of God and his righteousness, and all

these things will be given to you as well." ~Matthew 6:33

Meditation for the day:

"Strive first for the kingdom of God and his righteousness, and all

these things will be given to you as well." We need not seek material

things first, but seek spiritual things first and material things will

come to us, as we honestly work for them. Many of us seek material

things first and think they can then grow into knowledge of spiritual

things. We cannot serve God and earthly things at the same time. The

first requisites of an abundant life are spiritual things: honesty,

purity, unselfishness and love. Until we have these qualities,

quantities of material things are of little real use to us.

Prayer for the day:

I pray that I may put much effort into acquiring spiritual things. I

pray that I may get right spiritually and enjoy the many gifts around

me.

"Yesterday, Today, and Tomorrow"

There are two days in every week we should never worry about, two days that

should be kept free from fear and apprehension.

One is yesterday, with its mistakes and cares, its aches and pains, its

faults and blunders. Yesterday has passed forever beyond our control.

All the money in the world cannot bring back yesterday. We cannot undo a

single act we performed, nor erase a single word we've said. Yesterday is

gone.

The other day we should not worry about is tomorrow, with its impossible

adversaries, its burden, its hopeful promise and unknown performance.

Tomorrow is beyond our control

Tomorrow's sun will rise either in splendor or behind a mask of clouds - but

it will rise. And until it does, we have no stake in tomorrow, for it is as

yet unborn.

This leaves only one day - today! Anyone can fight the battles of just one

day. It is only when we add the burdens of yesterday and tomorrow that we

break down.

It is not the experience of today that drives people mad. It is the remorse

of bitterness for something that happened yesterday, and the dread of what

tomorrow may bring.

Make TODAY the best day it can be,

and live one day at a time!

THE TWO WOLVES

One evening an old Cherokee told his grandson about a battle that was going

on inside himself.

He said, "My son, it is between 2 wolves. One is evil: Anger, envy, sorrow,

regret, greed, arrogance, self-pity, guilt, resentment, inferiority, lies,

false pride, superiority and ego... The other is good: Joy, peace, love,

hope, serenity, humility, kindness, benevolence, empathy, generosity, truth,

compassion and faith..."

The grandson thought about it for a minute and then asked his grandfather,

"Which wolf wins?"

The old Cherokee simply replied, "The one I feed."

Tomorrow's a Brand New Day

A minister told his congregation, “Next week I plan to preach about the sin

of lying. To help you understand my sermon, I want you all to read Mark 17.”

The following Sunday, as he prepared to deliver his sermon, the minister

asked for a show of hands. He wanted to know how many had read Mark 17.

Every hand went up.

The minister smiled and said, “Mark has only sixteen chapters. I will now

proceed with my sermon on the sin of lying.”

Tomorrow's A Brand New Day

Sometimes it's hard to accept the many disappointment in life we face.

But we have to believe there's some reason and hold onto the Lords Grace.

For what seems to be so unfair and so difficult for us to understand is just

a small piece of the puzzle of our life that God has planned. And as each

door will close they say a window will open its eyes and life will bring

about changes and with each new day -- a surprise! So believe in all of

God´s love and know it surrounds you every day with courage and strength you

will make it through for tomorrow's a Brand New Day!!

DON'T LOOK BACK

Author Unknown

As you travel through life there are always those times

When decisions just have to be made,

When the choices are hard, and solutions seem scarce,

And the rain seems to soak your parade.

There are some situations where all you can do

Is simply let go and move on,

Gather your courage and choose a direction

That carries you toward a new dawn.

So pack up your troubles and take a step forward -

The process of change can be tough,

But think about all the excitement ahead

If you can be stalwart enough!

There might be adventures you never imagined

Just waiting around the next bend,

And wishes and dreams just about to come true

In ways you can't yet comprehend!

Perhaps you'll find friendships that spring from new things

As you challenge your status quo,

And learn there are so many options in life,

And so many ways you can grow!

Perhaps you'll go places you never expected

And see things that you've never seen,

Or travel to fabulous, faraway worlds

And wonderful spots in between!

Perhaps you'll find warmth and affection and caring

And somebody special who's there

To help you stay centered and listen with interest

To stories and feelings you share.

Perhaps you'll find comfort in knowing your friends

Are supportive of all that you do,

And believe that whatever decisions you make,

They'll be the right choices for you.

So keep putting one foot in front of the other,

And taking your life day by day...

There's a brighter tomorrow that's just down the road -

Don't look back! You're not going that way!

What can I do to be a more loving person?

by Fr. John Catoir

It's very easy to tell someone else to be more loving, more patient,

more self-sacrificing, but it's not always easy to do it yourself.

At times, just being civil can be enormously demanding. But try not

to let your little failures upset you.

We're all in the same boat, doing the best we can but falling short

of that illusive goal of perfection. The Lord understands this. He

has more patience than all of us combined.

The most important thing is that you don't put yourself down. In the

long run you will overcome your weakness, but it won't be you at all,

it will be the Lord working in you, helping you rise above your

limitations. The victory will be His, so that in the end your holiness

will be His creation.

If you want to help Him achieve His goal of saving and healing you,

begin now to observe one very important rule: do not put yourself

down. All along the way you will be tempted to do this, but if you

succumb you will be your own worst enemy.

Trust in God and His power. Think of Him. Laugh at yourself; don't

dwell on your faults. Cling to God, think of others, and don't

put yourself down. In that way, all manner of things shall be well.

He changed my meds, but I can't take them. There are too many side effects and I woke up this morning unable to breath well. My COPD is getting worse. I am praying that God will take me home. It is terrible not to be able to breath. I have no help here as my son is never here.

Good evening everyone,

"And my God will meet all your needs according to His glorious riches in Christ Jesus." Philippians 4:19

Gloriajean, glad to hear that Lori is feeling better. I also hope you will be feeling better regarding your food plan. I also like to grill. We have both gas and charcoal grill, and my preference is charcoal, as a matter a fact I don't think the gas grill has been used in over two years. Lol! Always saying a prayer for you and your loved ones.

Bobbisue, special prayers for you dear lady.

Felicia, so glad to hear your good news. Thank You Lord Jesus! May God bless you always with His love.

Dear friends, may the grace of the Lord Jesus Christ be with your spirit. Amen. Until next time....

Take Care and God Bless!

Re: Daily Positive Thread for Wednesday

Good evening!

I haven't been on lately, so much is going on and I just don't have time it seems. I do hope and pray everyone is doing well, I will go back and try to catch up on reading the posts.

We had a freak ice and snow storm last week, so many were trapped in their cars and had to spend the night in them. My poor son-in-law, what usually takes 30 minutes to get home took him 7 hours. My daughter was a nervous wreck until he made it safe and sound. She had to go into work so the national guard came and took her to the hospital. Just goes to show that the weather people can predict but the Lord only knows. I know that you folks up north deal with such all the time, we just aren't prepared or able to handle that type of weather, I do feel for y'all that have to deal with it often.

Keep my husband in your prayers. He is having some major neck, shoulder, arm issues. We went to the DR today, an MRI is being scheduled but they gave him quite a bit of muscle relaxers, pain med and steroids to take to help with the pain. Possibly more surgery will be needed. He can't sleep well so these past few nights have been rough for us both. When he stirs around I wake up. He is so restless at times.

Our son is still looking for a 3rd job. Thank goodness he still gets hours with his other 2 but it's just not enough. I know the Lord has something good in store for him, got to have faith.

I'm going to do better with my posting. Y'all have a peaceful night. My prayers are with you all.

Thanks for your prayers.

Be still, and know.

Re: Daily Positive Thread for Wednesday

Felicia - that is great news!!! Prayers work! May God be praised!

Juanita, we have a gas grill, and he uses it all the time! It sure was worth getting and it's right in our patio, so handy to use! We love it, it's so fast compared to the charcoal we used to have years ago. We have natural gas. I am feeling better, but still seem to be quite tired during the day and need rest. Today I didn't have any nausea symptoms, so that's great!!

Lucy - so nice to see you back and hope you stay with us - Gosh! your poor son needing a third job! He won't have any free time for fun!! Does he have a girlfriend? Atantla had the bad snow too, a friend of ours there, said on Facebook that her husband was stranded on the road for 20 hours! Can't imagine that! Yes, they weren't equipped for that either. Those freak storms! I don't think there were any deaths though, and that's a good thing. Your husband surely needs our prayers, and I promise to pray for his healing - and the thought came to me, maybe a chiropractor? Those raisins and gin? That has kept Linus' neck in good order and kept him away from the chiro. May he find the right doctor for his healing. The MRI should tell what is wrong.
