Never stop praying no matter how hopeless your case may seem. Pray before
you start your day and when you end it. Pray before you begin a task. Lord, I
thank You for all of Your blessings. Together we can do all that I must.

"If there is any encouragement in Christ, any consolation from love, any
sharing in the Spirit, any compassion and sympathy, make my joy
complete: be of the same mind, having the same love, being in full
accord and of one mind." Philippians 2:1-2

There is great joy in living the spiritual life. A faith without joy is
not entirely genuine. If we are not happier as a result of our faith,
there is probably something wrong. Faith in God can bring us a deep
feeling of happiness and security, no matter what happens on the surface
of our life. Each new day is another opportunity to serve God and
improve our relationships with other people. This can bring joy. Life
can be abundant and outreaching. It can be glowing and outgoing, in
ever widening circles.

I pray that my horizons may grow ever wider. I pray that I may keep
reaching out for more service and companionship.

Greetings to you all! Hope you had a good day today! We have it warmer - and that's always great!! I didn’t' have to wear boots for Mass this morning, our driveway and the Church parking lot are ice free!! Praise the Lord!! Today was a cleaning day but not for me. We hired a friend to come and clean carpets, our living room and bedroom. He is very reasonable. Linus used to work with his wife. We were invited to their wedding. After he was done he had a beer and visited with us quite awhile. His wife got a new job as the Church Secretary and loves it! It's a blessing to have fresh clean carpets now! Our Rosary tonight was offered up for all of you for your intentions. I will post something here about the Rosary tonight that I got for my list this morning. Remember I told you about the Kritsworst that was made by Linus and brothers? We will be serving it Sunday at noon to all his brothers and sisters. I will make a quiche to go with it, and some fruits, so glad the carpet is cleaned now. We asked Lori to come too, if she'd like to. She's never had kritsworst! Linus said on the farm they used to make that too and they called it the same name. Linus has his dentist appt in the morning at 8:00. Please pray that he has a good appointment - he's been really good with caring for his teeth. He had a new crown put in -gosh those are expensive and dental insurance won't pay for that. We must take good care of our teeth - and count that a blessing!

What Makes you Tick?
by Monsignor Dennis Clark, Ph.D.
Gn 6:5-8; 7:1-5,10 / Mk 8:14-21
Often when we meet someone new or when we’re observing a prominent public figure from a distance, we wonder what makes that person ‘tick.’ What are his or her motivations? Why does he do what he does, or not do something else that would seem so obvious? What is she at the core, underneath all the masks and pretensions? We wonder and we guess, and sometimes we’re delighted and sometimes we’re appalled.
In today’s gospel, Jesus is telling us that we ought to be appalled as well as wary of getting sucked into the world view of certain of his powerful contemporaries. ”Beware of the yeast of the pharisees and the yeast of Herod.” The apostles thought he was talking about bread, but he was pointing to what made those people ‘tick’ at the deepest levels. And his verdict was: All that grasping for power, and prestige, and recognition, that’s not for you! There’s no life there.
So what is it that should make us ‘tick.’ What should be the energizing vision that moves us to do great deeds and live noble lives? Our vision should be communion, big family with all God’s people gathered around his table, with no one left outside. It’s the only vision that lasts, the only vision that will ever bring us peace.

Faith Is......
Faith Is......reliance on the certainty that God has a pattern for my life when everything else seems meaningless
Faith Is......remembering I am God's priceless treasure when I feel utterly useless
Faith Is......depending on the fact that God is love - not on my ability to figure out why, in the midst of smashed hopes, reversal and tragedy
Faith Is......keeping on when I'm dog tired, discouraged, disillusioned, deserted, dusty, and dry and I cast on His strength alone
Faith Is......realizing that I am useful to God, not in spite of my scars, but because of them
Faith Is......confidence that God is acting for my highest good when He answers "No" to my prayers
Faith Is......accepting the truth that, in spite of the wreckage and grief I've caused, God has wiped the slate clean and delights in me!
Faith Is......recognizing that God is the Lord of time when my idea of timing doesn't agree with his
Faith Is......not a vague hope of a happy here after but an assurance of heaven based on my trust in Christ's death as payment for my sins
Faith Is......remembering that, though my way is as dark as night to me, God can see and guides me unerringly
Faith Is......doing the right thing regardless of the consequences knowing God will turn the ultimate effect to good
Faith Is......the conviction the Promiser keeps His promises.
Meditation:
Humility
It is said that humility is truth and Jesus is truth,
therefore the one thing that will make us most Christlike is humility.
from Thirsting for God: Mother Teresa
What the Saints Say About the Rosary and the Hail Mary
Our Lady speaks about the Rosary and the Hail Mary. . .
"Continue to pray the Rosary every day." Our Lady of Fatima to Lucia
"When you say your Rosary, the angels rejoice, the Blessed Trinity delights in it, my Son find joy in it too, and I myself am happier than you can possibly guess. After the Holy Sacrifice of the Mass, there is nothing in the Church that I love as much as the Rosary." Our Lady to Bl. Alan de la Roche
"‘Hail Mary, full of grace, the Lord is with thee!’ No creature has ever said anything that was more pleasing to me, nor will anyone ever be able to find or say to me anything that pleases me more." Our Lady to St. Mechtilde
What the saints have said about the Rosary and the Hail Mary. . .
"If you persevere in reciting the Rosary, this will be a most probable sign of your eternal salvation." Bl. Alan de la Roche
"The greatest method of praying is to pray the Rosary." St. Francis de Sales.
"When the Holy Rosary is said well, it gives Jesus and Mary more glory and is more meritorious than any other prayer." St. Louis de Montfort
"The Holy Rosary is the storehouse of countless blessing." Bl. Alan de la Roche
"One day, through the Rosary and the Scapular, Our Lady will save the world." St. Dominic

"If you say the Rosary faithfully unto death, I do assure you that, in spite of the gravity of your sins, 'you wil receive a never-fading crown of glory' (1 Peter 5:4)." St. Louis de Montfort
"The Rosary is THE weapon." Blessed Padre Pio
"You must know that when you ‘hail’ Mary, she immediately greets you! Don’t think that she is one of those rude women of whom there are so many - on the contrary, she is utterly courteous and pleasant. If you greet her, she will answer you right away and converse with you!" St. Bernardine of Siena
"Recite your Rosary with faith, with humility, with confidence, and with perseverance." St. Louis de Montfort
"The Rosary is my favourite prayer. A marvellous prayer! Marvellous in its simplicity and in its depth. . .the simple prayer of the Rosary beats the rhythm of human life." Pope John Paul II.
Remember that Mary is for all! She is our Heavenly Mother given by Jesus on the Cross!
The Rosary is being prayed by others of different Faiths, too. It is praying the Gospels.
Closing Prayers:
Prayer when feeling hurt or injured
Lord God, touch this place with your gentle hand.
Let your peace pour into the soreness,
wash away the pain,
heal the damage and give new strength by your Holy Spirit.
Help us to forgive, to renounce any bitterness or resentment and receive the healing touch of Jesus.
Amen.
PRAYER WHEN YOU NEED TO FEEL SPECIAL
Eternal God, you have made me special. Help me to work
and develop my unique personality. You intended for me to be an
original, not a carbon copy of someone else. Thank you for making me
different. Grant that I will always put my individuality to its best use
for Your work. Amen.
Good night everyone and sweet dreams to all! May you all have a blessed Wednesday and enjoy the Gift of God's Day!!
