Daily Positive Thread for Wednesday

As a mother sets aside gifts for her children long before they need them,
so,
too, has God prepared for our needs long before we call out to Him. Lord,
I give thanks and place my trust in Your loving arms.

Scripture for the day:

"Do you not know that you are God's temple and that God's Spirit dwells in
you?" ~1 Corinthians 3:16

Meditation for the day:

We can gently breathe in God's spirit, that spirit which, if not barred out
by selfishness, will enable us to do good works. This means rather that God
can be enabled to do good works through us. We can become channels for
God's spirit to flow through us and into the lives of others. The works
that we can do will be limited only by our spiritual development. We can
let our spirits be in harmony with God's spirit and there need be no limit
to what we can do in the realm of human relationships.

Prayer for the day:

I pray that I may become a channel for God's spirit. I pray that God's
spirit may flow through me into the lives of others.

Greetings my friends! How was your day today? Today it got much cooler out
and rainy, so yesterday was much better for going to the State Fair! It was
good to just stay home today and rest from yesterday! My legs are a bit
sore. Got a blessing call from my oldest sister, Deil. Always nice to
visit with her on the phone. Good thing I had my phone with me when I was
out picking raspberries, that's when she called. Made a good chicken soup
for supper tonight - and he had a good day at work - all is well and Praise
the Lord!!

Good News: Have you Really Heard It?
by Monsignor Dennis Clark, Ph.D.

1 Thes 5:1-6, 9-11 / Lk 4:31-37

By the time Jesus came, the Jews had evolved a very complex system of
religious law. In fact, it was so complex, and detailed, and often seemingly
contradictory, that most ordinary folk despaired of ever getting it all
straight and staying out of trouble with God.

So when Jesus came along, he was an astonishing breath of fresh air. With
him there was none of the dithering about things like how many angels could
stand on the head of a pin. Jesus talked about real life, and he explained,
over and over, that God is a Father whose love for his children can be
trusted.

No wonder the ordinary folk were so thrilled: if God can be trusted,
everything else falls into place, and no matter what comes, everything will
ultimately be all right.

Have you got to that point yet? Are you confident enough in God’s love that
can entrust your life into his hands — peacefully? If not, you’re wasting a
lot of time worrying and second guessing God.

The alternative is surely a lot happier. So why not relax in the Lord and
begin to experience here and now what a real life feels like. It’s
wonderful. It’s what God wants for you right now. And it’s just a taste of
what comes next!

Brighten Your Corner

We cannot all be famous
Or be listed in "Who's Who",
But every person, great or small,
Has important work to do.

For seldom do we realize
The importance of small deeds,
Or to what degree of greatness
Unnoticed kindness leads.

For it's not the big celebrity
In a world of fame and praise,
But it's doing unpretentiously
In an undistinguished way.

The work that God assigned to us,
Unimportant as it seems,
That makes our task outstanding,
And brings reality to dreams.

So do not sit and idly wish
for wider, new dimensions
Where you can put into practice,
Your many good intentions.

But at the spot God placed you
Begin at once to do,
Little things to brighten up
The lives surrounding you.

If everybody brightened up
The spot where their standing,
By being more considerate,
And a little less demanding.

This dark old world would very soon
Eclipse the evening star,
If everybody brightened up
The corner where they are!

Art Class

A kindergarten teacher was observing her class of children while they drew.
She would occasionally walk around to see each child's artwork. As she got
to one little girl who was working diligently, she asked what the drawing
was.

The girl replied, "I'm drawing God."

The teacher paused and said, "But no one knows what God looks like."
Without missing a beat or looking up from her drawing, the girl replied,
"They will in a minute."

Look On The Sunny Side
By: Helen Steiner Rice

There are always two side, the good and the bad, the dark
and the light, the sad and the glad. But in looking back over
the good and the bad, we're aware of the number of good things
we've had, and in counting our blessings, we find when we're
through, we really have no reason at all to complain or be blue.
So thank God for the good things He has already done, and be
grateful to Him for the battles you've already won, and know that
the same God who helped you before is ready and willing to help
you once more.

Then with faith your heart, reach out for God's hand and accept
what He sends, though you can't understand. For our Father in
Heaven always knows what is best, and if you trust His wisdom, your
life will surly be blessed. For always remember that whatever betide you,
you are never alone, for God is always there beside you.

THE COLORING SONG

Red is the color of the blood that flowed
Down the face of someone who loved us so.
"He's the perfect man, He's the Lord's own son"
"He's the Lamb of God, He's the only one"
That can give us life that can make us grow
That can make the love between us flow.

Blue is the color of a heart so cold
That will not bend when the story's told
Of the love of God for a sinful race
Of the blood that flowed down Jesus' face,
That can give us life that can make us grow
That can keep our hearts from growing old.

Gold is the color of the morning sun
That shines so freely on everyone.
It's the sun above that keeps us warm
It's the Son of love that calms the storm
That can give us life that can make us grow
That can turn our mornings into gold.

Brown is the color of the autumn leaves
When the winter comes to the barren trees.
There is birth, there is death, there is a plan,
And there's just one God, and there's just one man
That can give us life that can make us grow
That can make our sins as white as snow
That can turn our mornings into gold
That can keep our hearts from growing cold
That can make the love between us flow.
