Daily Positive Thread for Wednesday

The choices we make will affect our lives for better or for worse. Lord, You
have given me all that I need to make wise choices. May I always take time
to listen to You.

Scripture for the day:
"God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble.
Therefore we will not fear, though the earth should change, though the
mountains shake in the heart of the sea; though its waters roar and
foam, though the mountains tremble with its tumult." ~Psalm 46:1-3

Meditation for the day:
We can constantly claim God's strength. Once convinced of the right
of a course of action, once reasonably sure of God's guidance, we can
claim that strength. We can claim all the strength we need to meet
any situation. We can claim a new supply when our own supply is
exhausted. We have a right to claim it and we can use this right. A
beggar supplicates, a son appropriates. When we supplicate, we can be
kept waiting, but when we appropriate God's strength in a good cause,
we can have it at once.

Prayer for the day:
I pray that I may claim God's strength whenever I need it. I pray
that I may try to live as a child of God.

Hello my friends! Hope you all had a great Tuesday today! An ordinary day for me, but not without God's many blessings!! I called a friend in PA tonight, had a nice visit and it was free.
We've known each other on line as long as my list - 11 years! Raspberry picking and green beans, wonderful blessings! Hubby not complaining about his feet - another blessing! Today is the eve of my oldest daughter, Darla's birthday! Of course she isn't around to answer her phone, but we left a message! She's probably out to eat and dancing with Greg.

Homily of the Day

Don´t Be Blind to What God Has Given You
by Monsignor Dennis Clark, Ph.D.
Nm 12:1-13 / Mt 14:22-36
Where did Miriam’s leprosy come from? Was it God with a lightening bolt who made her flesh corrupt and her skin rot? No, God had no need to do anything. The rot and the sickness came from inside her. Jealousy and envy were rotting her soul, as they can rot ours. And what a waste. God has made us each different and blessed each of us with what we need. If we but have the eyes to see what God has put within our reach, our hearts will be merry, our days will be full, and our souls will be content.

Humility
We shall never learn to know ourselves except by endeavoring to know God; for, beholding His greatness, we realize our own littleness; His purity shows us our foulness; and by meditating upon His humility we find how very far we are from being humble."
St. Teresa of Avila
For Reflection:
According to St. Teresa of Avila, why is meditating on the attributes of God an appropriate way to begin to cultivate the virtue of humility? Where do you most see yourself in the reflection above?

Divine Power
Truly living as a Christian is not some sort
of righteousness that we slip on like an overcoat,
nor some ideal we arrive at by means of our own efforts.
The life of Christ is a vibrant, powerful, inner force
that bubbles up out of the very depths of our being
and enables us to do otherwise impossible things, blessed things.
This divine grace gradually helps us to overcome
sin, temptations, weaknesses.
We are able to rise above our human limitations
and receive a glimpse of our heavenly inheritance.

Never Be Discouraged
There is really nothing we need to know
or even try to understand
If we refuse to be discouraged
and trust God's guiding hand
So take heart and meet each minute
with faith in God's great love
Aware that every day of life
is controlled by God above
And never dread tomorrow
or what the future brings
Just pray for strength and courage
and trust God in all things
And never grow discouraged
be patient and just wait
For God never comes too early
and He never comes too late.
--Helen Steiner Rice

Act of Love
O my divine Jesus, how shall I return you thanks for the goodness in giving yourself to me? The only way I can repay your love is by loving you in return. Yes, my Lord, I love you, and I desire to love you all my life.
My Jesus, you alone are sufficient for me. Whom shall I love, if I love not you, my Jesus? You love those who love you. I love you. Oh, do you also love me. If I love you but little, give me the love which you require of me.
O Mary, my good Mother, and you glorious Saint Joseph, lend me your love wherewith to love my Jesus.

Good night everyone - Sweet Dreams and may your tomorrow be very richly blessed! God bless you!
