Daily Positive Thread for Tuesday

Use your talents. The world would be silent if only the birds
that sing the best would sing. Lord, I will use Your gifts
because You chose them especially for me.

"I am convinced that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor rulers,
nor things present, nor things to come, nor powers, nor height, nor
depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us
from the love of God in Christ Jesus our Lord." ~Romans 8:38-39

M E D I T A T I O N F O R T H E D A Y

God is our helper and our strength. We need not ask God to come to us.
God is always with us in spirit. At our moment of need God is there to
help us. If we knew God's love and God's desire to help us, we would
know that God needs no pleading for help. Our need is God's
opportunity. We can learn to rely on God's strength whenever we need
it. Whenever we feel inadequate to any situation, we can realize that
the feeling of inadequacy is, in its own way, disloyalty to God. We can
say to ourselves: I know that God is with me and will help me to think
and say and do the right thing.

I pray that I may never feel inadequate to any situation. I pray that I
may be buoyed up by the feeling that God is always with me.
Hello my friends! How was your day? It was not as hot today – after we had storms and rain last night, it cooled the air. I’m very happy to report again that Linus’ feet didn’t hurt – he works two more days and then 4 off – hoping he can stay off meds for it, and not be too uncomfortable. Thanks be to God! Supper was out on the grill – he made it – pork steak and sweet potato fries – so delicious and filling. It’s such a blessing not to have such heat and humidity like yesterday!! Today I picked some green beans and raspberries. A little of each, soon it should be more. Lori wants to plant some raspberry b ushes now – she’ll love that!! And I also ate a few blueberries from the garden!! Can’t forgot about our blueberries! Only two plants. Yum. Our apples are growing nicely, too.
Thank You Lord !

A newly arrived soul in Heaven was met by St. Peter. The saint toured
the soul around Heaven. Both of them walked side by side inside a large
workroom filled with angels. St. Peter stopped in front of the first
section and said, "This is the Receiving Section. Here, all the
petitions to God said in prayer are received".

The soul looked at the section, and it was terribly busy with so many
angels sorting out petitions written on voluminous paper sheets from all
the people of the world.

They walked again until they reached the 2nd section, and St. Peter
told the soul, "This is the Packaging and Delivery Section.

Here, the graces and blessings the people asked for are packed and
delivered to the persons who asked for them down on earth."

The soul saw how busy it was. There were so many angels working in that
room, since so many blessing were being packed and delivered to Earth.

Finally at the farthest corner of the room, the soul stopped at the last
section. To the surprise of the soul, only one angel stayed there idly,
doing nothing.

"This is the Acknowledging Section," St. Peter told the soul.

"How is it that, there is no work here?"

"That's the sad thing," St. Peter answered. "After the people received
the blessings they asked for, very few send their acknowledgments".

"How does one acknowledge God's blessing?"

"Simple," St. Peter answered. "Just say, "'Thank you, Lord'."

Have a good day, count your blessings, and pass this along to remind
everyone else how blessed we all are.

THANK YOU LORD!
Our Father from God
My child who art on earth,
worried, lonely, tempted;
I know your name perfectly,
and I pronounce it to hallow it,
because I love you.
No, you are not alone, but lived in by me,
and together we are building the kingdom
which you are going to inherit.
I like you to do my will,
because my will is that you should be happy,
for the Glory of God
is a living human being.
Always count on me
and you will have bread for today;
do not worry,
I only ask that you should get used to
sharing it with your sisters and brothers.
You know that I forgive your trespasses
even before you commit them;
that is why I ask that you should do the same
to those who trespass against you.
So that you should never fall into temptation,
take my hand tightly
and I will deliver you from evil,
my poor dear child.
God's Coffee

A group of alumni, highly established in their careers, got together to visit their old university professor. Conversation soon turned into complaints about stress in work and life.

Offering his guests coffee, the professor went to the kitchen and returned with a large pot of coffee and an assortment of cups - porcelain, plastic, glass, crystal, some plain looking, some
expensive, some exquisite - telling them to help themselves to the coffee.

When all the students had a cup of coffee in hand, the professor said:

"If you noticed, all the nice looking expensive cups were taken up, leaving behind the plain and cheap ones. While it is normal for you to want only the best for yourselves, that is the source of your problems and stress.

Be assured that the cup itself adds no quality to the coffee. In most cases it is just more expensive and in some cases even hides what we drink.

What all of you really wanted was coffee, not the cup, but you consciously went for the best cups... And then you began eyeing each other's cups.

Now consider this: Life is the coffee; the jobs, money and position in society are the cups. They are just tools to hold and contain Life, and the type of cup we have does not define, nor change the quality of Life we live.

Sometimes, by concentrating only on the cup, we fail to enjoy the coffee God has provided us."

God brews the coffee, not the cups.......... Enjoy your coffee!

"The happiest people don't have the best of everything. They just make the best of everything."

Live simply. Love generously. Care deeply. Speak kindly. Leave the rest to God.

Put An End to Squishy Commitments!

Ex 1:8-14, 22 / Mt 10:34-11:1

When we think of Jesus, the images that usually come to mind are of a man of peace who brings healing and forgiveness to people, the man who saved the life of the woman caught in the act of adultery, and the man who raised dead people back to life. So when we hear today’s gospel, it really rattles our teeth.

What does Jesus mean when He says that His mission is not to spread peace but division? What follows sounds like a script from the worst of all soap operas, where everyone is fighting with everyone else. Could this possibly be what Jesus intends? Certainly not.

Jesus’ point, which He expresses in His customary hyperbole, is that His mission is to press us to make serious choices, to speak a clear “yes” or “no” to God, and not just a lifelong “maybe.” As He says in another place, His whole life is wholehearted “yes” and never anything less.

If you find yourself wandering about in the Land of the Eternal Maybe, neither getting better nor growing visibly worse, this is God’s invitation to a new life. Don’t turn Him down! It could be the last.
