Daily Positive Thread for Tuesday

Today ask God for anything that is in line with His will for you. Plead with Him
and Tell Him your needs and keep praying.

Scripture for the day:

"Jesus said to him, "Have you believed because you have seen me? Blessed are
those who have not seen and yet have come to believe." ~John 20:29

Meditation for the day:

God can help make us truly grateful and humble. Since we cannot see God, we
can believe in God without seeing. What we can see clearly is the change in
a human being when that person sincerely asks God for the strength to
change. We can cling to faith in God and in God's power to change our ways.
Our faith in God can be rewarded by a useful and serviceable life. God can
show us the way we should live, when in real gratitude and true humility we
turn to God.

Prayer for the day:

I pray that I may believe that God can change me. I pray that I may be
always willing to be changed for the better.

Greetings my friends! Hope your day was a good one and not too hot!! We had over 90 degrees here today!! Wow! Not used to that! And today's blessing was my man came again for house cleaning and he did all the windows, and cleaned all the screens, the main bathroom, throroughly cleaned the tub, all the jets, etc. which I just could not do anymore.
He scrubbed the bathroom tile, he scrubbed the tile walls, shined everything up, plus some odd jobs, oh and he cleaned the top of the real high ceiling fan for us, too. Our wish was his command and he did it willingly - for us we didn't have to pay, but we did have him for breakfast which he greatly appreciated being he hadn't eaten. Now my house is clean, so far no one called for a showing, and yesterday's showings - no offers. But there will be someone who will want this house. We are trusting in the Lord that it will sell in time for us to get the apt. we want. So - there's nothing to do except wait upon the Lord and keep the house in showing order.

I Will Never Be Alone!
by Monsignor Dennis Clark, Ph.D.

Acts 19:1-8 / Jn 16:29-33

One of the greatest fears that a human being can experience is the fear of being abandoned by family and friends and being left to live one’s life all alone. Prison guards know this when they place recalcitrant inmates in solitary confinement and torturers know it too when they need their victims to confess to fictitious crimes.

To be cut off from human contact is immensely painful, but it pales when compared to being cut off from God. And yet that is the daily experience of too many of God’s children, wandering about this earth with no sense of any larger purpose or destiny and no vision beyond the blank wall of death. What a tragedy, and how unnecessary it is!

Jesus long ago spoke for us all when He said, “I can never be alone; the Father is with Me.” He is with us, within us, always — healing, comforting, strengthening, enlightening, encouraging, and guiding. He is with us always, and we’ll never be alone — not in the deepest cell or on the darkest night.

Mother Teresa said...

We are all capable of good and evil. We are not born bad: everybody has something good inside. Some hide it, some neglect it, but it is there. God created us to love and to be loved, so it is our test from God to choose one path or another.

The "Did You" of Christ

Did you give him a lift? He's a brother of man,
And bearing about all the burden he can.
Did you give him a smile? He was downcast. and blue,
And a smile would have helped him to battle it through.
Did you give him your hand? He was slipping downhill,
And the world, so I fancied, was using him ill.
Did you give him a word? Did you show him the road,
Or did you just let him go on with his load?
Do you know, what it means to be losing the fight,
When a lift just in time might set everything aright?
Do you know what it means just a clasp of the hand,
When a man's borne about all a man ought to stand?
Did you ask what it was, why the quivering lip?
Why the half-suppressed sob and the scalding tears drip?
Were you brother to him when the time came of need?
Did you offer to help him or didn't you heed?

That's HIM!

Not long ago, somewhere in the hinterlands of Mindanao, a grim tragedy happened. A frustrated father shot dead his wife before finally turning the gun on himself, pulling the trigger. The entire scene was witnessed by a lone survivor, a seven year old boy---the couple's only son. They were so impoverished that his parents thought it was the only way out. Relatives from both sides grieved and pitifully wanted to adopt the orphaned child but they were also very poor. Fortunately, a priest from a nearby town agreed to look after him in his parish locality. It was difficult for volunteer workers in the church to communicate with the boy because he seemed to be always in a state of shock. Teaching was not any easier since he did not have any educational foundation at all, sad to say, illiterate.

One afternoon, while the young lad was attending Catechism class the Church was conducting for the less fortunate children in the neighborhood, the teacher was showing an enlarged poster of Jesus Christ. As he was going around the room, he asked his class,"Do you know who this is?" Every child had a puzzled look as they silently stared at the photo. Suddenly, amid the eerie silence, the boy stood up with eyes wide open and pointing to the poster, "That's HIM! He was the one who was with me at the moment my parents died!", he screamed repeatedly in his native dialect.

Everybody in the room did not know what to say, especially those who knew of the boy's history.

Prayer to Saint Anthony the Wonder-Worker

Saint Anthony, perfect imitator of Jesus, who received from God the special power of restoring lost things, grant that I may find {mention your petition} which has been lost. As least restore to me peace and tranquility of mind, the loss of which has afflicted me even more than my material loss. To this favor I ask another of you: that I may always remain in possession of the true good that is God. Let me rather lose all things than lose God, my supreme good. Let me never suffer the loss of my greatest treasure, eternal life with God. Amen.
