Daily Positive Thread for Tuesday

Hello my friends! An early start this afternoon because I will be going for the Card Club Play Offs and will get back late. We took Phoebe and Ollie home for Lori now, she is on her way home. She just texted me that they landed and now are driving home. Her pets will be so happy to see her again!!! Phoebe was even easy to get in the car to take her home, she sat on my lap all the way, Ollie in the back seat, Sammy on Linus' lap - he wanted to go along for the road trip! It's quieter now - and that's good!! I'll be picked up within the hour and I need to get ready - it should be fun whether we win or lose. The loser gets a deck of cards, so that's not bad anyway! Peace of Jesus to you all - and may God grant your hearts desires! Keep praying! Prayers do get answered!!

Faith lifts us from the realm of the impossible to the possible. Lord,

thank you

for the gift of Faith. It fills the shadows in my life with sunshine and

removes

the despair of hopelessness.

S C R I P T U R E F O R T H E D A Y

"The high priest questioned them, saying, 'We gave you strict orders not to

teach in this name, yet here you have filled Jerusalem with your teaching

and you are determined to bring this man's blood on us.' But Peter and the

apostles answered, "We must obey God rather than any human authority."

~Acts 5:27-29

M E D I T A T I O N F O R T H E D A Y

Pride can stand sentinel at the door of the heart and shut out the love of

God. God dwells with the humble and the obedient. Obedience to God's will

is the key that unlocks the door. We cannot obey God to the best of our

ability without in time realizing God's love and responding to that love.

The rough stone steps of obedience can lead up to where the mosaic floor of

love and joy is laid. Where God's spirit is, there is our home.

P R A Y E R F O R T H E D A Y

I pray that God may make a home in my humble and obedient heart. I pray

that I may obey God's guidance to the best of my ability.

When you find it hard to pray, rest your hand upon the Holy Bible

and open a random page. Read what is there and

try to absorb the message.

Lord, Lord, Open unto me

Open unto me - Light for my darkness.

Open unto me - Courage for my fear.

Open unto me - Hope for my despair.

Open unto me - Peace for my turmoil.

Open unto me - Joy for my sorrow.

Open unto me - Strength for my weakness.

Open unto me - Wisdom for my confusion

Open unto me - Forgiveness for my sins.

Open unto me - Tenderness for my toughness.

Open unto me - Love for my hates.

Open unto me - Thy Self for my self.

Lord, Lord, open unto me!

AMEN.

- Howard Thurman

Sawing off One's Cross

They tell the story of a group of devout people

who were on a cross-carrying pilgrimage. The

going was rough and there was much moaning and

groaning. One of the pilgrims found his cross

just too heavy to carry, so he cut off a part and

shortened it.

After days of walking, the pilgrims approached

the promised land of everlasting joy and peace in

God's presence. But they still had one obstacle

to overcome. Between them and heaven was a

yawning abyss. How could they get to the other

side?

Someone thought of the idea of each one using his

cross as a bridge. And would you know it? The

crosses were just the right length to span the

gap.

So, all the cross-bearers walked across except

the one who had sawed off his cross to make it

lighter.

Don't Ever

Don't ever be reluctant

to show your feelings

when you're happy, give in to it...

When you're not, live with it.

Don't ever be afraid to try to

make things better

you might be surprised at the results.

Don't ever take the weight of the world

on your shoulders.

Don't ever feel threatened by the future

take life one day at a time.

Don't ever feel guilty about the past

what's done is done. Learn from any

mistakes you might have made.

Don't ever feel that you are alone

there is always somebody there for

you to reach out to.

Don't ever forget that you can achieve

so many of the things you can imagine.

It's not as hard as it seems.

Don't ever stop loving

Don't ever stop believing,

Don't ever stop dreaming your dreams.

Prayer asking for Mary's Intercession

by St. Francis of Assisi

Holy Virgin Mary, there is no one like Thee born in the world among women,

Daughter and Handmaid of the Most Highest King, the Heavenly Father,

Mother of Our Most Holy Lord Jesus Christ,

Spouse of the Holy Spirit:

Pray for us with St. Michael the Archangel

and all the powers of Heaven and all the Saints

before Thy Most Holy and Beloved Son, the Lord and Master.

Glory to the Father and to the Son, and to the Holy Spirit, ...

Prayer or Blessing Against Storms

Jesus Christ a King of Glory has come in Peace. † God became man, † and the

Word was made flesh. † Christ was born of a Virgin. † Christ suffered. †

Christ was crucified. † Christ died. † Christ rose from the dead. † Christ

ascended into Heaven. † Christ conquers. † Christ reigns. † Christ orders. †

May Christ protect us from all storms and lightning † Christ went through

their midst in Peace, † and the word was made flesh. † Christ is with us

with Mary. † Flee you enemy spirits because the Lion of the Generation of

Judah, the Root David, has won. † Holy God! † Holy Powerful God! † Holy

Immortal God! † Have mercy on us. Amen!

Mother Teresa's Favorite Prayers

Prayer for peace

Lead me from death to life,

from lies to truth

Lead me from despair to hope

from fear to trust

Lead me from hatred to love

from war to peace

Let peace fill our heart, our world

our universe... peace, peace, peace.

Meditations by Padre Pio

If Jesus manifests Himself, thank Him; and if He hides Himself thank Him

also; it is a game of love. May the clement and pious Virgin continue to

obtain for you from the ineffable goodness of the Lord the strength to

sustain till the end the many proofs of charity He gives you. I hope you

will die with Jesus on the Cross; and say in Him "Consummatum est."

Good Afternoon:

Gloriajean.....Glad everyone got home safely.

As I am praying for DH and that there is a plan for treatment, I pray also for everyone here and for those who are suffering physically and emotionally.

Both DH and I are above nervous about tomorrow. Sometimes I feel like I am hanging by my fingernails right now. Hoping for continued prayers, as I send them to you.

Re: Daily Positive Thread for Tuesday

Bobbiesue - May God grant you all that you need - prayers continue daily for you.

Harlene - just got a text from Darla - it says: It needs a lot of prayer. He just denied what he said earlier (about a better wage) they are playing dirty and trying to get me to accept a very low wage. Thanks much for your prayers, let's keep them going, ok?

Lucy - You must have a squeeky clean fridge now! it's always nice to get it cleaned thoroughly! We did not win last night, but it still was lots of fun.

Felicia - praying for that awful neuropathy can be healed by doctors with God's healing power. Prayers continue for you.

shorelady - Oh yes, you have continued prayers from all of us, I'm sure!! May God be with you both and grant you your heart's desires - May he be healed - and if God desires, the best kind of treatments for him.
