Meditation for the day:

God's miracle-working power is as manifest today as it was in the past.
It still works miracles of change in lives and miracles of healing in
troubled minds. When a person trusts wholly in God and leaves to God the
choosing of the day and hour, there is God's miracle-working power becoming
manifest in that person's life. We can trust in God and have boundless faith in
God's power to make us whole again.

Prayer for the day:

I pray that I may feel sure that there is nothing that God cannot
accomplish in changing my life. I pray that I may have faith in God's
miracle-working power.

Hello my friends! Hope your day went well - we had a nice, sunny day here today - nice to be outside without a jacket! Our day started out with Mass, then some breakfast and Lori came and we went to our appointment to see the luxury apartment - were there about a half hour - and right after than looked at a town house. The apartment is lovely, of course, but we didn't get to see the floor plan that was more affordable to us, just more higher, which were very roomy and beautiful. The townhouse was too small so we weren't interested.
Well we have lots of time yet and I'm not in a hurry to sell at all. Still praying for our miracle. Tonight after work Lori had us come over to plant some flowers she got from friends, so her yard will be having lots of blooms! Bet that will be so pretty! Praise the Lord - Linus is working without pain lately!! What a blessing that is! Another blessing - a nap, and that I can sleep well with all that's going on is another blessing!!

Draw Your Circle Very Large!

Acts 11:1-18 / Jn 10:11-18

Today's reading from Acts tells a tale that seems quite extraordinary to us. How could anyone be shocked at the idea of dining with someone who happened to be uncircumcised, or unbaptized for that matter? That's drawing the circle of one's love and concern mighty small. And it's making God equally small, implying that he has room in his love only for those who have gone through the prescribed rituals.

But before we get too far along the road of ridiculing our early Christian ancestors, we might do well to take a good look into our own souls. Every one of us is almost certain to find there a surprising number of hidden barriers which create an in-group much smaller and an out-group much larger than we ever would have expected.

If we are followers of Jesus, that simply cannot be. Just as with Jesus, no one can be left outside the circle of our love. No one! So draw your circle much larger, and become a real member of God's big family!

Mary, the First Witness

In Lourdes Mary now replaces the prophets.
She is the first witness of the incarnation.
She appears in a cave to remind us that
the Word was made flesh and dwells among us.
Jesus, born in a cave at Bethlehem, reveals himself to humankind.

Shephard's Call

I just wanted to remind you today of how beautiful you are because there is a father of lies who will try to deceive you. He will try to tell you that you are not good enough, not attractive enough, not thin enough, Not strong enough, not smart enough, not righteous enough, and that you are simply unimportant to Me.
He will try to tell you that you have broken one too many promises, that you have fallen one too many times, that you have lived one too many lies, and that you've been going in the wrong direction so long that it is pointless to turn back now.

But guess what?

YOU DO NOT BELONG TO HIM.

HE IS NOT YOUR father. I AM.

You see, you are My creation. My workmanship. You have been borne of My thought, every part of you placed together by My hands. You have My thumbprint upon you. You are a princess/prince, did you know that?

You are My child, the child of THE King! I look at you and see a precious, priceless pearl. There is no ocean I would not swim, no mountain I would not climb, no price I would not pay to have you and to be with you and call you my own.

I already have. I have done all that I could, given all that there is. I desire to be with you every moment of every day.

How I long for you to talk to Me every day. My love for you never grows cold. My promises are never broken (contrary to what he might lead you to believe). My character never changes. And you, my child have been made in My image.

I love you dearly, unconditionally and completely. I understand every emotion that you have. I've been there. I count every tear that you cry. I know every hair on your head. And do you know what? I even know your weaknesses and your failures and your fears. I know those hidden parts of you that you wish would go away.

Those dark corners of your world that you stuff deep down, praying that no one will ever see. I have already seen them and they will not change my love for you. Nothing will. I love your heart and I desire all of it. I just wanted to remind you today of how beautiful you are and how precious you are to Me.

The Man In The Glass

When you get what you want in your struggle for self
And the world makes you king for a day,
Just go to a mirror and look at yourself,
And see what that man has to say


For it isn't your father or mother or wife,

Prayer for Peace to Mary, the Light of Hope

Immaculate Heart of Mary, help us to conquer the menace of evil, which so easily takes root in the hearts of the people of today, and whose immeasurable effects already weigh down upon our modern world and seem to block the paths toward the future.

From famine and war, deliver us.
From nuclear war, from incalculable self destruction, from every kind of war, deliver us.
From sins against human life from its very beginning, deliver us.
From hatred and from the demeaning of the dignity of the children of God, deliver us.
From readiness to trample on the commandments of God, deliver us.
From the loss of awareness of good and evil, deliver us.
From sins against the Holy Spirit, deliver us.

Accept, O Mother of Christ, this cry laden with the sufferings of all individual human beings, laden with the sufferings of whole societies. Help us with the power of the Holy Spirit conquer all sin: individual sin and the "sin of the world," sin in all its manifestations.

Let there be revealed once more in the history of the world the infinite saving power of the redemption: the power of the merciful love.
May it put a stop to evil.
May it transform consciences.
May your Immaculate Heart reveal for all the light of hope.
