Daily Positive Thread for Tuesday

Hello my friends! Today's blessings - Linus had a great day at work today! PRAISE GOD! Another blessing - his feet don't hurt! My blessings are him, my family and all of you! Friends mean a lot! I'm still not feeling the best but we go in the morning to the doctor to get antibiotics or something. I got the chills again this afternoon, so back to bed with iboprofin, I made some chicken soup for supper. Hope I'll be ok for his birthday celebration with his brothers and sisters at the restaurant tomorrow night! Thanks for your prayers! I appreciate that very much!!!

No matter what you must confront today, know that God is with you.

Lord, today is part of Your plan for me. I do not doubt You and therefore

I will not doubt You within me.

Scripture of the day

"Jesus said to them, 'Come away to a deserted place all by yourselves and

rest a while.' For many were coming and going, and they had no leisure even

to eat." ~Mark 6:31

Meditation of the day:

It's good if I am more afraid of spirit-unrest, of soul-disturbance, of any

ruffling of the mind, than of earthquake or fire. When I feel the calm of

my spirit has been broken by emotional upset, then I can steal away alone

with God, until my heart sings and all is strong and calm again. Uncalm

times are the only times when evil finds easy entrance.

I can beware of unguarded spots of unrest. I can try to keep calm, no

matter what turmoil surrounds me.

Prayer for the day:

I pray that no emotional upsets will hinder God's power in my life. I pray

that I may keep a calm spirit and a steady heart.

The Break with the Past

You have surely heard the nice saying that's been around for a few years:

"Today is the first day of the rest of your life." But now I'd like to coin

a companion saying: "Today is the last day of your past."

Those two messages don't mean the same thing. The first advises us to get

our life going the way we want it to go. The second means: get rid of old

failures, taboos, inhibitions that have kept us from being what we can be.

As we grow, we pick up warnings like: "That's a no-no." "Don't you dare do

that!" "Know your place." We learn what people around us consider to be

"customary" or "proper" or "a shame." We also hear why something is

"impossible" to do. If we are brainwashed by all this and go out as an adult

into a very competitive world, we are short of our initiatives. We are

handcuffed by these warnings which we have dragged up from history.

What we need are the unlimited vision and the natural imagination which we

had as children. Let today be the last day of your past...

Prayer is joy,

prayer is love,

prayer is peace.

You cannot explain it,

you must experience prayer.

It is not impossible.

God gives it for the asking.

"Ask and you shall receive."

The father knows what to give his children

- how much more our heavenly

Father knows.

- BL. MOTHER TERESA -

Good Things To Remember

Stop trying to please others - it doesn't work.

Start pleasing yourself.

Make sure your shoe souls are clean when you're walking through someone

else's life.

Upon awakening each day, use the following quotation.. " Thank You God, for

this day...

let's get out there and see what wonderful stuff we can accomplish

"TOGETHER".

Always praise a person for a job well done.

Praise your children often.

Words we should say more often: "LOVE YOU".

Never say good-bye or good night to your husband, child, mother, father,

dear friends, without making sure they've heard or felt your "LOVE YOU"

message.

Remember that the world does not expect you to be more than you are capable

of being, but it does expect you to try to live up to all that you were

created for.

You can't turn back the clock, but you can wind it up again.

You Say... God Says...

For all the negative things we have to say to ourselves, God has positive

answers.

You say: "It's impossible"

God says: All things are possible (Luke 18:27)

You say: "I'm too tired"

God says: I will give you rest (Matthew 11:28-30)

You say: "Nobody really loves me"

God says: I love you (John 3:16 & John 13:34)

You say: "I can't go on"

God says: My grace is sufficient (II Corinthians 12:9 & Psalms 91:15)

You say: "I can't figure things out"

God says: I will direct your steps (Proverbs 3:5-6)

You say: "I can't do it"

God says: You can do all things (Philippians 4:13)

You say: "I can't forgive myself"

God says: I FORGIVE YOU (I John 1:9 & Romans 8:1)

You say: "I can't manage"

God says: I will supply all your needs (Philippians 4:19)

You say: "I'm afraid"

God says: I have not given you a spirit of fear (II Timothy 1:7)

You say: "I'm always worried and frustrated"

God says: Cast all your cares on ME (I Peter 5:7)

You say: "I'm not smart enough"

God says: I give you wisdom (I Corinthians 1:30)

You say: "I feel all alone"

God says: I will never leave you or forsake you (Hebrews 13:5)

"Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, today, and forever." -Hebrews 13:8

Jesus said:

"I am the Good Shepherd. The Good Shepherd lays down his life for the

sheep." -John 10:11

"I am the door. If anyone enters in by Me, he will be saved and will go in

and out and find green pastures." -John 10:9

"I am the Bread of Life. No one coming to me will ever be hungry again.

Those believing in Me will never thirst." -John 6:35

"I am the Vine; you are the branches. Whoever lives in me and I in him shall

produce a large crop of fruit." -John 15:5

"I am the resurrection and life. Anyone who believes in me, even though he

dies like anyone else, shall live again." -John 11:25

"I have come as a Light into the world, that whoever believes in Me should

not abide in darkness." -John 12:46

"Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, today, and forever."

Thank you, Jesus, for revealing Yourself in a way we all understand.

UNFOLDING THE ROSEBUD

It is only a tiny rosebud,

A flower of GOD's design;

But I cannot unfold the petals

With these clumsy hands of mine.

The secret of unfolding flowers

Is not known to such as I.

GOD opens this flower so sweetly,

When in my hands they fade and die.

If I cannot unfold a rosebud,

This flower of GOD's design,

Then how can I think I have wisdom

To unfold this life of mine?

So I'll trust in Him for His leading

Each moment of every day.

I will look to Him for His guidance

Each step of the pilgrim way.

The pathway that lies before me,

Only my heavenly Father knows.

I'll trust Him to unfold the moments,

Just as He unfolds the rose.

Re: Daily Positive Thread for Tuesday

Good evening!

Gloria, I'm sorry to hear you are under the weather. Hope you make it to the birthday celebration. Also good to hear that Linus had a good day.

Hey Juanita, hope things are going well for you.

Harlene, I saw another picture of a covered bridge and thought of you. I almost sent it to you but it is quite old and not very clear so I changed my mind.

Bobbiesue, hope you are doing ok.

I've been busy today and now that chores are done, supper is over and I've got a bit, I thought I'd drop a line. We are suppose to get to 25 in the am, I am hoping it doesn't kill all of the flowers, bushes and trees that have bloomed and are budding. Our weather is fickle this time of year! lol

If you don't mind, please keep my daughter and gransons in your thoughts and prayers as they return home tomorrow from Disney World. Thanks!

Please continue to keep my husband in your prayers. He is still having nerve pain. Thanks!

Enjoy your evening, sleep well. God bless you all.

Be still, and know.
