Hello my friends! Rats - I had a nice post here and it disappeared, guess I'll have to have it copied again. Shucks! Here's hoping you all had a good and positive day today - I'm still not feeling up to par, I'm pretty sure it's my after effects of that food plan - did 4 weeks of no carbs after four - and that seems to be bad for me. Now I crave carbs. Now I'm making myself some mac and cheese - comfort foods!! Hope the nauseated feeling goes away for good. It's a blessing I don't have the stomach flu - everything I can keep down, just tired a lot too. This, too, shall pass!! Praying for all of you!!
Good is always coming to you. No matter what is happening in your life,
you can bless it with prayer and be peaceful. Lord, You give me the courage
to face any situation confidently and victoriously.
Scripture for the day:
"Other seed fell into good soil and brought forth grain, growing up
and increasing and yielding thirty and sixty and a hundred-fold." And
he said, 'Let anyone with ears to hear listen!'" ~Mark 4:8-9
Meditation for the day:
God's kingdom on earth is growing slowly, like a seed in the ground.
In the growth of God's kingdom there is always progress among the few
who are out ahead of the crowd. We can keep striving for something
better and there does not need to be stagnation in our lives. Eternal
life, abundant life can be ours for the seeking. We need not misspend
time over past failures. We can count the lessons learned from
failures as rungs upon the ladder of progress. We can press onward
toward the goal.
Prayer for the day:
I pray that I may be willing to grow. I pray that I may keep stepping
up on the rungs of the ladder of life.
BUTTERFLY KISSES
We often learn the most from our children. Some time ago, a friend of mine
punished his 3-year-old daughter for wasting a roll of gold wrapping paper.
Money was tight, and he became infuriated when the child tried to decorate a
box to put under the tree.
Nevertheless, the little girl brought the gift to her father the next
morning and said, "This is for you, Daddy." He was embarrassed by his
earlier overreaction, but his anger flared again when he found that the box
was empty.
He yelled at her, "Don't you know that when you give someone a present,
there's supposed to be something inside of it?"
The little girl looked up at him with tears in her eyes and said, "Oh,
Daddy it's not empty. I blew kisses into the box. All for you, Daddy."
The father was crushed. He put his arms around his little girl, and he
begged her forgiveness. My friend told me that he kept that gold box by his
bed for years. Whenever he was discouraged, he would take out an imaginary
kiss and remember the love of the child who had put it there.
In a very real sense, each of us as parents has been given a gold container
filled with unconditional love and kisses from our children.
There is no more precious possession anyone could hold.

WHEN I PRAY THE LORD'S PRAYER:
I cannot say OUR if I am selfish and do not think of others.
I cannot say FATHER if I do not treat my parents with respect.
I cannot say WHOM ART IN HEAVEN if all I care about are material things.
I cannot say HALLOWED BE THY NAME if I do not say the Lord's name with
reverence.
I cannot say THY KINGDOM COME, THY WILL BE DONE if I am more interested in
the things my own way.
I cannot say ON EARTH, AS IT IS IN HEAVEN if I am not ready to do His will
here on earth.
I cannot say GIVE US THIS DAY OUR DAILY BREAD without being willing to share
what I have with others.
I cannot say FORGIVE US OUR TRESPASSES AS WE FORGIVE THOSE WHO TRESPASS
AGAINST US if I hold grudges and will not forgive others.
I cannot say DELIVER US FROM EVIL if I am not willing to walk away from
those things that are wrong and ask the Lord's help through prayer.
I cannot say THINE IS THE KINGDOM if I am not willing to accept God as a
Ruler of my Life.
I cannot say THINE IS THE POWER if I do not remember that my gifts and
talents come from God not from myself.
I cannot say THINE IS THE GLORY if I only seek my own glory and recognition.
I cannot say FOREVER AND EVER if I am only interested in what is happening
in my life right now.
I cannot say AMEN unless I can say "WHATEVER HAPPENS IN MY LIFE, THIS MY
PRAYER."
May the Good Lord bless and keep you.
May His love shine upon you.
May He hold you in the palm of His hand.
(The Lord's Prayer can be found in the bible in Matthew 6:9-13 and Luke
11:2-4.)
Prayer for Perseverance in Faith
Father, keep us from vain strife of words. Grant to us constant profession
of the Truth! Preserve us in a true and undefiled Faith so that we may hold
fast to that which we professed when we were baptized in the Name of the
Father, Son and Holy Spirit - that we may have Thee for our Father, that we
may abide in Thy Son and in the fellowship of the Holy Spirit. Through Jesus
Christ, Our Lord. Amen.

19 HORSES
Author Unknown
One rich man owned 19 horses when he died. In his last will and
testament he had written that upon his death, half the horses he owned
should go to his only son; one fourth to the village temple and one
fifth to the faithful servant. The village elders could not stop
scratching their heads. How can they give half of the 19 horses to the
son? You cannot cut up a horse. They puzzled over this dilemma for
more than two weeks and then decided to send for a wise man who was
living in a neighboring village.
The wise man came riding on his horse and asked the villagers if he
can be of any help to them. The village elders told him about the rich
man's last will and testament which stated that half of the (19)
horses must be given to his only son, one fourth must go to the temple
and one fifth to the faithful servant.
The wise man said he will immediately solve their problem without any
delay whatsoever. He had the 19 horses placed in a row standing next
to one another. Then he added his own horse as the 20th horse. Now he
went about giving half of the 20 horses that is ten horses to the son.
One fourth of 20-that is 5 horses were given to the temple committee.
One fifth of?twenty-that is 4 horses were given to the faithful
servant. Ten plus five plus four made 19 horses. The remaining 20th
horse was his own which he promptly mounted, spoke a few inspiring
words, and rode back home.
The villagers were simply dumfounded, full of disbelief and filled
with admiration. And the parting words of the wise man were inscribed
in their hearts and minds which they greatly cherished and passed on
to their succeeding generations till today.
The wise man said: In our daily lives, in our daily affairs, simply
add God's name and then go about facing the day's happenings. Ever
come across problems in life that are seemingly insurmountable? (Like
the villagers, do we feel that such problems cannot be solved?).
The wise man continued: Add the God Principle in our daily lives and
the problems will become lighter and eventually will disappear. In the
manner of the ice which, with the addition of the heat principle will
turn into water, and that will eventually evaporate as steam and
disappear. And how do we add God's name in our daily lives? Through
prayers, filled with true love and devotion with sincerity of purpose
and dedication that only total faith can bring about. Meditation is a
powerful means of directing the mind Godward.
But without true love and devotion entering into it, it remains like a
boat without water. It is not difficult to push a boat that is
floating in water, but extremely hard to drag the same boat on dry
land.
Mother Teresa said...
If you are searching for God and do not know where to begin, learn to pray
and take the trouble to pray every day. You can pray at work - work doesn't
have to stop prayer and prayer doesn't have to stop work. Tell Him
everything, talk to Him. He is our father, He is to us all whatever religion
we are. We are all created by God, we are his children. We have to put our
trust in Him, believe in Him, work for Him. And if we pray, we will get all
the answers we need.

Gloria, this is the same problem you had on Sunday. You had said your thread didn't go through and you were posting it again. I posted on that one, and when I went to read it later it looked like another thread, maybe your first one, was there. My post disappeared.
What I had was not an allergy, I had that nauseous feeling and my doctor said the Benadryl would work and it does.
When is Darla's interview? Praying hard for her.
Counting my blessings.

Harlene - When I used the bold and submitted, it lost everything, but that was right away and I did it over again. Sorry your post Sunday was gone. Today I seem to feel good, we'll see - that mac and cheese last night felt good! I'll think of that Benadryl - if this continues. Thanks for the idea. Darla's phone interview for Metro State University in Mpls. is Thursday morning! Thanks much for your prayers along with ours. She hasn't heard anything from Florida yet.
Bobbiesue - was missing you, sorry you are still sick, I know the feeling! Lots of times I don't feel like posting either. Let us continue to count our blessings! God be praised!

Good Morning, Gloria. I am sorry to hear that you are still having stomach issues. Maybe you should run it by your internist just to be sure all is well.
May everyone who posts here have a beautiful, blessed day!

Gloria, we posted at the same time.
I am glad to read that you are doing better. Sometimes low carbohydrate diets are just too hard on the kidneys and system overall. They can put you into ketosis and you will lack energy after awhile from them. Hope you continue to feel better....

Thanks Serenity! Yes, I am feeling great this morning, but Linus isn't. He is gone now for an appt. to sell Lighthouse Catholic Media to a parish - then when he gets back, I"m sure he'll be resting. I feel energized and ready to get things done today and not even tired!!! Praise God. Did I ever tell you that my daughter, Lori, has named her massage business Serenity Therapeutic Massage? Nice nic you have picked.

Sorry to hear about Linus not feeling well. But it is wonderful news that you are feeling better. I really believe those low carbohydrate diets can zap energy from a person. A more moderate approach seems to be a better way of staying energetic and healthy.
Yes, I did read about your daughter naming her massage business Serenity.
I chose the nic after reading The Four Agreements which helped me to understand the how and why so many people behave the way that they do. I read a blog on YouTube called "The Daily Connoisseur." It mentioned that as being one of the book selections and I really enjoyed reading it...

It has stopped snowing and the sun is out even though it is 10* outside. A blessing for sure. Thank you Jesus....
