Daily Positive Thread for Tuesday

Hello my friends!

Today went well in the house - we didn't venture out, he did some Lighthouse work by phone and emails. I worked quite a bit today on my list. People were signing up for a category to the Glory of God List, and I was entering them. I like to keep the list thorough and complete. I met a new friend and for that I"m very grateful! She joined my list today too. I have 15 different categories, and about 200 people in those categories. They sign up for what category they want and I put them there. Been doing this for twelve years, and I love it! My list is a blessing to me and I've met very nice people through it. One part of my list is the Glory of God prayer line - on this part I have at least a couple Poor Clare nuns on to pray for our intentions, plus a Benedictine Monastery and a Franciscan one, plus lots of people willing to pray for others. For this I am very grateful for, too!! What are you grateful for today?

Remember that God always does what He promises. Lord, where others

bargain, You freely give, when others are too busy, You listen and when

others let me down, You never fail me. Thank You for all of my blessings.

Scripture for the day:

"Through Christ you have come to trust in God, who raised him from the

dead and gave him glory, so that your faith and hope are set on God."

~1 Peter 1:21

Meditation for the day:

God's miracle-working power is as manifest today as it was in the past.

It still works miracles of change in lives and miracles of healing in

troubled minds. When a person trusts wholly in God and leaves to God the

choosing of the day and hour, there is God's miracle-working power becoming

manifest in that person's life. We can trust in God and have boundless

faith in

God's power to make us whole again.

Prayer for the day:

I pray that I may feel sure that there is nothing that God cannot

accomplish in changing my life. I pray that I may have faith in God's

miracle-working power.

With a Little Help from My Friends

I was sitting in a train, waiting for it to start. Across from me sat a

small boy, asking questions as children do. He asked his mother, "When will

the train start?" I saw my chance and volunteered to answer. I said, "The

train will start when we start pushing." The child opened his big eyes in

surprise, "Really!" "Of course," I said. "Unless we push, it doesn't start."

"Then let's push," he exclaimed.

"Just a minute," I said. "The passengers are not all on. I'll tell you when

to push." I watched for the signal light at the station and heard the

station master's shrill whistle. Then I shouted to the boy, "Now! Push for

all you're worth." He and I started to push in the direction of the engine.

We pushed and pushed against the back of the seat .... and soon a contented

smile lit up the boy's face. The train was moving ... very slowly at first,

but then gaining speed little by little.

I congratulated the lad on his success. "We DID it! We DID it! Wasn't that

great?" he exclaimed. He looked immensely pleased with himself. He was

traveling in a train he had helped to start. I did not have the heart to

tell him about the monstrous engine chugging up in front. Eventually he

would find out for himself...

We usually attribute great success to our little actions, forgetting that

behind them all is that almighty unseen power called God, whose power often

makes us look powerful.

HOW TO BE A GODLY EMPLOYEE

(based on the 10 Commandments)

Author Unknown

1. Trust in God only.

Trust in no one but GOD. People will disappoint you. God created you

and has a wonderful plan for your life. He is too good to do wrong,

and too wise to make a mistake. Let His peace abide in you. (Proverbs

3 :5-6)

2. Worship God only.

Don't make your career, your company, or your boss a god. If you do,

you will provoke Him to jealously and will end up fighting Him. In

fact, He may hinder you from achieving what you want until you are

broken of the

idolatry. (Exodus 20:5).

3. Use God's Name Reverently.

Don't swear!! Clean words come out of a clean heart! If your co-

workers know that you are a Christian, but they hear the Lord's Name

used in vain, or cursing and swearing from your mouth, you will give

the appearance of being

a hypocrite. Matthew 15:17-19).

4. Work Six Days and Rest on the Seventh.

Before you beg for more vacation time, ask yourself a few questions,

"Do you honor the Sabbath?" God has already given you 52 days of time

off that equates to seven weeks. "Are your expectations for work,

vacation, and

retirement realistic?" By resting one day a week, you can avoid

burnout. (Genesis 3:17-19).

5. Respect and Obey Your Boss.

You should respect and obey your boss, because you don't know what

it's like to be in their shoes. Plus, your ultimate boss is the Lord.

Serve Him faithfully on the job, and He will bless you. However, if

your boss commands

you to do something illegal or immoral, you must make a stand and obey

God rather than man. (Ephesians 6:5-8).

6. Protect and Respect Human Life.

Emotional, mental, physical, and spiritual manipulation, abuses and

violence have no place in the workplace... or any place. You do not

have the right to use and abuse your boss, co-workers, employees,

customers, or suppliers. (1 Thessalonians 3:1-2).

7. Be True to Your Spouse.

If you are not getting the kind of attention that you feel you deserve

at home, it's common to seek it with someone at work. Honor your

wedding vows by avoiding company romances! They are very tempting,

very real, and very

common. They are also very wrong and very destructive. (Matthew

19:8-9).

8. Do Not Take What Belongs to Others.

Stealing at work can take many forms. You can choose to steal

materials, money, time, productivity , and joy from your employer and

others. Do not remove your integrity by stealing. (II Corinthians

7:1-2).

9. Do Not Lie About Others.

Do not fabricate stories about your boss, co-workers, and spread

gossip for the sake of company politics. You are here to be the salt

and the light, not the pepper and the darkness!! Truth always rises to

the surface, and eventually you will be ashamed and rebuked if you

lie. (II Peter 2: 10-13 ).

10. Be Satisfied With What You Have.

Contentment doesn't mean that you cannot pursue God-given goals, but

it does mean that you are content with what He has provided you with,

day after day. Contentment is a rare quality in today's culture, but

it is extremely

liberating! Materialism, striving for rank , backstabbing, and

discontent lead to emotional, mental, financial, and spiritual

bondage. (I Timothy 6:6-11 ).

The More You Get

The more you give, the more you get

The more you do unselfishly

The more you live abundantly.

The more of everything you share,

The more you laugh, the less you fret.

The more you'll always have to spare.

The more you love, the more you'll find

That life is good and friends are kind.

For only what we give away,

Enriches us from day to day.

WHY GOD GAVE US FRIENDS

Author Unknown

GOD knew that everyone needs

companionship and cheer,

He knew that people need someone

whose thoughts are always near.

He knew they need someone kind

to lend a helping hand.

Someone to gladly take the time

to care and understand.

GOD knew that we all need someone

to share each happy day,

to be a source of courage

when troubles come our way.

Someone to be true to us,

whether near or far apart.

Someone whose love we'll always

hold and treasure in our hearts.

That's Why GOD Gave Us Friends

Re: Daily Positive Thread for Tuesday

Hello everyone,

Yesterday our temp got up to 64, today right now were at 32 and feels like 21. It sure has been a roller coaster here. Thursday, they say will be in the teens. Like many I am ready for spring. On the bright side I was blessed with that propane, and it's a good feeling, that our security rests in Our Lord Jesus Christ.

I stopped at the gas station yesterday to get gas, and the owner told me to hold on to the key, that if someone gets sick, or needs a day off, they would like me to continue to work for them. So that was quite a blessing, to know that he was satisfied with my work.

Today, I had an appointment, and once again, God helped me. On my way to the appointment, I was praying, and told God, whatever happens Lord, let it be Your Will. If things don't go the way I would like...well Lord I know You have a much better plan. It must of been His will, and this was another blessing, and a blessing that will go into next month. Praise God!

I read this from a book called "Jesus Calling" by Sarah Young

"I want You to be all MINE. I am weaning you from other dependencies. Your security rests in Me alone-not in other people, not in circumstances. Depending only on Me may feel like walking on a tightrope, but there is a safety net underneath: the everlasting arms. So don't be afraid of falling. Instead, look ahead to Me. I am always before you, beckoning you on- one step at a time. Neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, can separate you from My Loving Presence."

Deuteronomy 33:27 "The eternal God is your refuge, and underneath are the everlasting arrms. He will drive out your enemy before you, saying Destroy him!"

Romans 8:39 "Neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord."

Keeping all in my prayers. Until next time....

Take Care and God Bless!

Re: Daily Positive Thread for Tuesday

Hi Gloria and friends{#emotions_dlg.wub}.... Nursing myself back to health today since I got the flu. It has been hanging on now for over a week, so slowly but surely I am hoping I will be back to normal. It's funny, though, how when one is forced to rest, how appreciative one becomes for just being able to go about the simple things in life. I know I take so much for granted and thank God for all my blessings.

So many blessings to thank God for....far too numerous to list but appreciative of each and every one of them.

Double J, it sounds like things are going well for you. You clearly have a very strong faith. SmileI enjoyed reading your post.

Loves To Paint, good "seeing" you here.Smile

Thank you for this lovely thread and allowing me to participate on it.
