Daily Positive Thread for Tuesday

Hello my friends! It was a good day - for our lunch today, I made some scalloped potatoes with some carrots in it, mushrooms and onions, there was some left over, but not enough so I just put another big potato in the skillet, some dried onions that I dried in the dehydrator, some more ham, added some water, seasonings, salt, garlic, etc. and cooked it on top of the stove, was very good! There was some mushroom soup leftover in there, so didn't have to add any. Now there's no more left-overs in the fridge - so can start fresh tomorrow, and we have our turkey out now thawing in the fridge. That will be made on the grill. Tomorrow I can use that ham bone and make some bean soup - which we don't have very often - that will be a treat!! Thanks be to God for our food! Praise His Holy Name!

Weeds grow easily, but flowers need care and nurturing to bloom.

Lord, may I turn away from evil and tenderly encourage the goodness

that comes my way so that I, too, may blossom.

Scripture for the day:

"When you are offering your gift at the altar, if you remember that

your brother or sister has something against you, leave your gift

there before the altar and go; first be reconciled to your brother or

sister, and then come and offer your gift." ~Matthew 5:23-24

Meditation for the day:

"First be reconciled to your brother or sister and then come and offer

your gift." First we can get right with other people and then we can

get right with God. If we hold a resentment against someone, which we

find it very difficult to overcome, we can try to put something else

constructive into our minds. We can pray for the one against whom we

hold the resentment. We can put that person in God's hands and let

God show them the way to live. "Those who say, 'I love God,' and hate

their brothers or sisters, are liars; for those who do not love a brother or

sister whom they have seen, cannot love God whom they have not seen."

Prayer for the day:

I pray that I may see something good in every person, even one I

dislike, and that I may let God develop the good in that person.

Here are some short prayers:

Short Prayers

O my God, I believe in You, and all that You have taught and revealed. Help

my unbelief.

O my God, all good and merciful, I hope in You. Help me to do what is

necessary for my salvation.

O my God, I have failed You often. I am sorry. Forgive me for having

offended You, so good and worthy of all love.

O my God, I love You. Help me never to offend You again.

My Jesus, Who died for me, have mercy on me, save my soul.

Lord, help me to remember that nothing is going to happen to me today that

You and I together can't handle.

The Rosary Gift

This wonderful prayer I hold in my hand

Given by You to help me understand

That through these beads You’ll answer my call

You’ll come to my aid – I needn’t worry at all

Repeatedly You tell me the Rosary is the key

To overcome burdens and to set me free

You cannot resist these decades of love

My pleas pave the way to Your Son above

I need only persist with this powerful prayer

That leads to God – let Satan beware

As long as I meditate on the mysteries while praying

More and more I’ll understand what You keep saying

That time out is needed from fun and play

I must turn to God and daily pray

Your ageless prayer, then, dear Mother I know

Is a special gift that on me you bestow

Help me to treasure this relic You love

This everlasting guide to the Almighty above

A way of life, then, let the Rosary be for me

And through daily use may it set my soul free

If we feel...

If we feel...

...it is not fair that some are better off although

undeserved,

...it is not fair that some are always more lucky for no

good reason,

...it is not fair that some get away with anything while

we have have to account for everything,

then we should ask ourselves...

...is it fair that many people in the world have little or

nothing to eat while we take food for granted?

...is it fair that many people are not even lucky enough

to have proper shelter?

...is it fair that a faultless man had to be crucified to

account for our wrongdoing?

God has for you -

A Light for every shadow

A Plan for every tomorrow

A Key for every problem

A Balm for every sorrow....

A Morning prayer to start your day:

RELAX and let God be the only Person on your mind while you read this

Prayer.

Dear Lord,

I thank You for this day. I Thank You for my being able to see and to

hear this morning. I'm blessed because You are a forgiving God and an

understanding God. You have done so much for me and You keep on

blessing me. I ask now for Your forgiveness. Keep me safe from all danger

and harm.

Let me start this day with a new attitude and plenty of gratitude.

Let me make the best of each and every day and give my best in all that

is put before me. Clear my mind that I can hear from You. Broaden my mind

that I can accept all things. Let me not whine and whimper over things I've

no control over. And when this world closes in on me, let me remember

Jesus' example-to slip away and find a quiet place to pray. It's the best

response when I'm pushed beyond my limits. I know that when I can't pray,

You listen to my heart. Continue to use me to do Thy Will. Continue to bless

me that I may be a blessing to others. Keep me strong that I may help the

weak and unsaved. Keep me uplifted that I may have words of encouragement

for others.

I pray for those that are lost and can't find their way.

I pray for those that are misjudged and misunderstood.

I pray for those who refuse to share a word from You.

I pray for those who don't know You intimately.

I pray for those that will only read this and not speak this aloud in

their

own lives.

I believe that God changes people and God changes things. I pray for all

my sisters and brothers. For each and every family member in their

households.

I pray for peace, love and joy in their homes, that they are out of debt

& all their needs are met.

Every Battle is in His hands for Him to fight. I pray that these words be

received

into the hearts of every eye that sees them and every mouth that confesses

them willingly.

This is my prayer. In Jesus Name, Amen.

Prayer for Spouses

Lord Jesus,

Grant that my spouse and I may have a true and understanding love for each

other.

Grant that we may both be filled with faith and trust.

Give us the grace to live with each other in peace and harmony.

May we always bear with one another’s weaknesses

and grow from each other’s strengths.

Help us to forgive one another’s failings

and grant us patience, kindness, cheerfulness,

and the spirit of placing the well being of one another ahead of one’s self.

May the love that brought us together grow and mature with each passing

year.

Bring us both ever closer to you through our love for each other.

Let our love grow to perfection.

Amen
