Daily Positive Thread for Tuesday

Study who you are and follow your heart because it will often lead you

to miracles. Lord, in knowing who I am, I will become better able to know

and serve You.

Scripture for the day:

"But those who look into the perfect law, the law of liberty, and

persevere, being not hearers who forget but doers who act--they will

be blessed in their doing." ~James 1:25

Meditation for the day:

When something happens to upset us and we are discouraged, we can try

to feel that life's difficulties and troubles are not intended to

arrest our progress in the spiritual life, but to test our strength

and to

increase our determination to keep going. Whatever it is that must be

met, we can either overcome it or use it. Nothing need daunt us for

long, nor need any difficulty entirely overcome or conquer us. God's

strength is always there, waiting for us to use it. Nothing can be

too great to be overcome, or if not overcome, then used.

Prayer for the day:

I pray that I may know that there can be no failure with God. I pray

that with God's help I may live a more victorious life.

Hello my friends! Missing all your posts, that's for sure! Today my husband bought Cosequin DS for Sammy - please help me pray that we see results with this, no liver flavor. He is to take a half tablet in the morning and a half at night for a month or so before going on maintenance. I called the Vet and he said that would be fine, and we can take back the Dasuquin and get our money back! Praise God for that!! He said that Cosequin and Dasuquin are made by the same company so he recommends that too, and the internet shows how the dogs get back to normal again!! Also he recommends that we get him some liquid pain med that he has there, because Sammy may have chronic pain but just doesn't let us know. He's very tender to the touch. So we pray that now we are on the way to good health for our doggie! I had a big blessing today with a surprise phone call from Ester, my dear friend in California! She's the Filipino, and goes back to the home country twice a year doing mission work there - the Philippines. It was so nice visiting with her! She and her husband might come to see us before she leaves in June, if all works out well. Praying for all of you - thanks for your prayers for us.

Prayer to overcome Bitterness and Resentment

Father, I acknowledge that I've held resentment and bitterness against _______________. I confess this as sin and ask you to forgive me. I forgive __________________. Remind me, Lord, to not hold any more resentments, but rather to love this person. Father, I ask you to also forgive ______________________.

Thank you for hearing and answering my prayer. In Jesus' name, Amen.

Aim High

There once was a man who had nothing for his family to eat. He had an old shotgun and three bullets. So, he decided that he would go out and kill something for dinner.

As he went down the road, he saw a rabbit and he shot at the rabbit and missed it. Then he saw a squirrel and fired a shot at the squirrel and missed it. As he went further, he saw a wild turkey in the tree and he had only one bullet, but a voice came to him and said "pray first, aim high and stay focused."

However, at the same time, he saw a deer which was a better kill. He brought the gun down and aimed at the deer. But, then he saw a rattle snake between his legs about to bite him, so he naturally brought the gun down further to shoot the rattle snake.

Still, the voice said again to him, "I said 'pray, aim high and stay focused."

So, the man decided to listen to the voice. He prayed, then aimed the gun high up in the tree and shot the wild turkey. The bullet bounced off the turkey and killed the deer. The handle fell off the gun and hit the snake in the head and killed it. And, when the gun had gone off, it knocked him into a pond.

When he stood to look around, he had fish in all his pockets, a dead deer and a turkey to eat. The snake (Satan) was dead simply because the man listened to God.

Moral of the story: Pray first before you do anything, aim and shoot high.

CLOSED DOORS

Author Unknown

We need to learn to praise the Lord as much for a closed door as we do

an open door. The reason God closes doors is because He has not

prepared anything over there for us. If he didn't close the wrong

door, we would never find the right door.

God directs our path through the closing and opening of doors. Once a

door closes, it forces you to change your course. Another door closes,

it forces you to change your course again. Then, finally, you find the

open door and you walk right into your blessing.

The Lord directs our paths through the opening and closing of doors,

but instead of praising him for the closed door (which keeps us out of

trouble); we get upset because we "judge by the appearances. "

You have an ever-present help in the time of trouble that is always

standing guard. Because He walks ahead of you, He can spot trouble

down the road and set up a roadblock or detour accordingly. But

through our lack of wisdom, we try to tear down the roadblocks or push

aside the detour sign. Then the minute we get into trouble, we start

crying, "Lord, how could You have done this to me?"

We have got to realize that the closed door can be a blessing. Didn't

He say that no good thing would He withhold from them that love Him?

If you get terminated from your job, praise God for the new

opportunities that will manifest themselves: it might be another job,

it might be school.

If that man or woman won't return your call, it might not be them, it

might be the Lord setting up a roadblock (just let it go).

One time, a person had a bank they had been in business with for many

years tell them "No!" to a $10,000 loan. The Lord put in their spirit

to call another bank. That bank gave them $40,000 at a lower interest

rate than the first bank was offering.

We can sometimes trap ourselves in doubt and discouragement through

judging by appearances. Be grateful for the many times our Father has

closed doors to us just to open them in the most unexpected places.

The Lord won't always say in spoken words: "Go to the left, now to the

right" ...sometimes He will just close the doors that are wrong for

you.

God Bless You Always!

Trust Him

Trust Him

when dark doubts assail you,

Trust Him

when your faith is small,

Trust Him,

when to trust Him . . .

is the hardest thing of all.

Trust Him,

He is ever faithful,

Trust Him

for His will is best,

Trust Him

for the Heart of Jesus,

is the only place of rest.
