Make more room for love in your life. Lord, may I love myself and what
I do, may I love others, and how they better my life, and above all, may
I love You more each day.

asking that you may be filled with the knowledge of God's will in all
spiritual wisdom and understanding, so that you may lead lives worthy
of the Lord, fully pleasing to him, as you bear fruit in every good
work and as you grow in the knowledge of God." ~Colossians 1:9-10

Meditation for the day:

We can bow to God's will in anticipation of the thing happening which
will, in the long run, be the best for all concerned. It may not
always seem the best thing at the present time, but we cannot see as
far ahead as God can. We do not know how God's plans are laid, we only
need to believe that if we trust God and accept whatever happens,
things will work out for the best in the end.

Prayer for the day:

I pray that I may not ask to see the distant scene. I pray that one
step may be enough for me.

Hello my friends! Well at this moment Lori is on her way home - she's in the
plane and I'm praying that she get the 9:00 van home from the airport -
otherwise she has to wait an hour and it's late. Her plane arrives at 8:44
PM. Think she'll make it? Well, with God all things are possible - but
according to His Holy Will. Today started out chilly - to chilly to have
our coffee on the porch, but it warmed up shortly and it's still nice there.
Linus came home from work, very tired, and I made some chow mein, we ate
that and he's taking a nap on the couch in the patio/porch now. At first
Lori wanted us to pick her up at the airport - and he knew he'd be in no
shape to drive an hour and a half to the airport after work, so he arranged
the van to bring her to the Holiday Inn here in town. We pick her up there
and take her to her house. It costs 41.00 to get the van but it's worth it,
and with the cost of gas etc. it's really worth it.
My blessings today was first last night hearing that they got to Darla's
house at around 10:00 and then again when Lori called to say she's on the
plane. Very anxious to hear about her trip. Another blessing was the chow
mein turning out fine as I made it quickly with what I had handy here. I am
so blessed with my family and sisters, and all of you, my friends. I like
that prayer that says, "and I pray for my computer because all my friends
are in there." Isn't that the truth? I love that. Know that you all are in
my prayers for all of your needs and your friend's healings etc.

Dear Lord,

Even though I clutch my blanket and growl when the alarm rings,
thank you, Lord, that I can hear. There are many that are deaf.

Even though I keep my eyes closed against the morning light as long as
possible,
thank you, Lord, that I can see. Many are blind.

Even though I huddle in my bed and put off rising,
thank you, Lord, that I have the strength to rise. There are many that are
bedridden.

Even though the first hour of my day is hectic, when socks are lost, toast
is burned and tempers are short, my family are so loud,
thank you, Lord, for my family. There are many that are lonely.

Even though our breakfast table never looks like the pictures in magazines
and the menu is at times unbalanced,
thank you, Lord, for the food we have. There are many that are hungry.

Even though the routine of my job often is monotonous,
thank you, Lord, for the opportunity to work. There are many that have no
job.

Even though I grumble and bemoan my fate from day to day and wish my
circumstances were not so modest,
thank you Lord, for life!

May I always thank you Lord. Amen.

Strong Woman vs. a Woman of Strength

A strong woman works out every day to keep her body in shape...
but a woman of strength kneels in prayer to keep her soul in shape...

PRAYER FOR THE SEVEN GIFTS OF THE HOLY SPIRIT
Saint Bonaventure

WE BEG the all-merciful Father through thee, his only-begotten Son made man
for our sake, crucified and glorified for us, to send upon us from his
treasure-house the Spirit of sevenfold grace, who rested upon thee in all
his fullness:

the spirit of wisdom, enabling us to relish the fruit of the tree of life,
which is indeed thyself;

the gift of understanding: to enlighten our perceptions;

the gift of prudence, enabling us to follow in thy footsteps;

the gift of strength: to withstand our adversary’s onslaught;

the gift of knowledge: to distinguish good from evil by the light of thy
holy teaching;

the gift of piety: to clothe ourselves with charity and mercy;

the gift of fear: to withdraw from all ill-doing and live quietly in awe of
thy eternal majesty.

These are the things for which petition. Grant them for the honor of thy
holy name, to which, with the Father and the Holy Ghost, be all honor and
glory, thanksgiving, renown, and lordship for ever and ever. Amen.


RESPECT HIS HOLY NAME

From the Holy Bible: "A man that sweareth much shall be filled with iniquity
(sin) and a scourge shall not depart from his house." (Eccl. 23:12)

St. John Vianney, the holy priest of Ars: "God gave men only ten
commandments and one of the ten has for its sole object the reverence due to
His Name." He used to say that it was an astounding miracle that people who
used His Name in vain were not struck dead on the spot. But he warned them,
"If the sin of blasphemy is rampant in your home, it will surely perish."

Often His Holy Name is used as an expression of speech, for instance: "My
God!" with no real thought of God or calling upon Him. Let us always strive
to love and honor the Holy Name of God, using His Name only in prayer and
adoration and thanksgiving.

Our Lord revealed to Sr. Marie of St. Pierre, a French Carmelite Nun, the
need for mankind to make reparation for the terrible sin of blasphemy. He
told her: "Oh if you only knew what great merit you acquire by saying even
once, 'Admirable is the Name of God' in the spirit of reparation of
blasphemy!" Please repeat this holy phrase often and distribute these cards
to appease God's wrath toward our sinful nation.

The greatest fulfilment is in doing God's will.

"Put the Glass Down"

A lecturer was giving a lecture to his student on stress management.

He raised a glass of water and asked the audience, "How heavy do
you think this glass of water is?"

The students' answers ranged from 20g to 500gm.

"It does not matter on the absolute weight. It depends on how long
you hold it.

"If I hold it for a minute, it is OK.

"If I hold it for an hour, I will have an ache in my right arm.

"If I hold it for a day, you will have to call an ambulance.

"It is the exact same weight, but the longer I hold it, the heavier it
becomes.

"If we carry our burdens all the time, sooner or later, we will not be
able to carry on, the burden becoming increasingly heavier.

"What you have to do is to put the glass down, rest for a while before
holding it up again."

We have to put down the burden periodically, so that we can be re-
freshed and are able to carry on.

So before you return home from work tonight, put the burden of work
down.

Don't carry it back home. You can pick it up tomorrow.

Whatever burdens you are having now on your shoulders, let it down
for a moment if you can.

Pick it up again later when you have rested...Rest and relax.

Life is short, enjoy it!!

God Answers Prayer
I know not by what methods rare,
But this I know - God answers prayer,
I know not when He sends the word
That tells us fervent prayer is heard.
I know it cometh -- soon or late:
Therefore we need to pray and wait.
I know not if the blessing sought
Will come in just the way I thought.
I leave my prayers with Him alone,
Whose will is wiser than my own.


Lord let me capture the pure spirit of a loving child when I speak
Your name.
Let me pray as a child prays, asking little for myself, much for
other souls
and for Your beautiful world.
Protect me, sleeping and waking, from evil.
Lead me by the hand to good works.
Let me praise You in simple words and in glorious silence through all
the days and the nights of my life.

Even When

Even when you have failed before, there is still every possibility of
success.

Even when one door is closed, another door will open.

Even when the situation appears to be hopeless, there is indeed hope.

Even when your options and your resources seem to be exhausted, there is
still something more you can do.Why is this so? Because the past does not
equal the future. Because you are endlessly adaptable, resourceful and
