Hello my friends! Today's blessing for me was to see Bev again on the thread! Thanks for coming back after a few years! Wish more did the same! Colorado girl enjoying the 70's weather! Well it's 14 above zero here, it's cold outside, but it's warm in the house and in our hearts! Another blessing was that Linus got a call for the PT for his vertigo and has an appointment at 7:45 AM tomorrow. Please help us pray that these treatments will be just the answer to get rid of that vertigo. He's meeting with Nancy, the one Lori wants him to have, who helped her client back to health from vertigo. May God grant him healing and no more scary episodes! Sammy continues to cough - X-Rays show he's got a slightly enlarged heart - which causes the cough. Nothing they can do. So I'm praying for him, too. He still must have that arthritis in his left elbow - but he sure doesn't show it! No more limping, he runs, but he won't jump on the bed nor jump down - that he's afraid of. Well, this is enough chattering for me now - love you all and may God answer all your prayers.
God gives abundantly to those who pass His gifts on to others. Lord, let
Your blessings flow in to me and then out from me. I will neither be
selfish
nor let my gifts stagnate.
Scripture for the day:
"It is God's will that by doing right you should silence the ignorance
of the foolish. As servants of God, live as free people, yet do not use
your freedom as a pretext for evil. Honor everyone." ~1 Peter 2:15-17
Meditation for the day:
Each new day brings an opportunity to do some little thing that will
help to make a better world, that will bring God's kingdom a little
nearer to being realized on earth. We can take each day's happenings as
opportunities for something we can do for God. In that spirit, a
blessing will attend all that we do. When we offer this day's service
to God, we are sharing in God's work. We do not have to do great
things.
Prayer for the day:
I pray that today I may do the next thing, the unselfish thing, the
loving thing. I pray that I may be content with doing small things as
long as they are right.
LUCKY
Author Unknown
Anyone who has pets will really like this. You'll like it even if you
don't and may decide you need one. Mary and her husband Jim had a dog,
Lucky.
Lucky was a real character. Whenever Mary and Jim had company come for
a weekend visit they would warn their friends to not leave their luggage
open because Lucky would help himself to whatever struck his fancy.
Inevitably someone would forget and something would come up missing.
Mary or Jim would go to Lucky's toy box in the basement and there
the treasure would be, amid all of Lucky's favorite toys. Lucky always
stashed his finds in his toy box and he was very particular that his toys
stay in the box.
It happened that Mary found out she had breast cancer. Something told
her she was going to die of this disease...she was just sure it was fatal.
She scheduled the double mastectomy, fear riding her shoulders.
The night before she was to go to the hospital she cuddled with Lucky.
A thought struck her...what would happen to Lucky? Although the three-
year-old dog liked Jim he was Mary's dog through and through. If I die Lucky
will be abandoned, Mary thought. He won't understand that I didn't want to
leave him. The thought made her sadder than thinking of her own death.
The double mastectomy was harder on Mary than her doctors had
anticipated and Mary was hospitalized for over two weeks. Jim took Lucky for
his
evening walk faithfully but the dog just drooped, whining and miserable. But
finally the day came for Mary to leave the hospital. When she arrived home,
Mary was so exhausted she couldn't even make it up the steps to her bedroom.
Jim made his wife comfortable on the couch and left her to nap. Lucky stood
watching Mary but he didn't come to her when she called. It made Mary sad
but
sleep soon overcame her and she dozed.
When Mary woke for a second she couldn't understand what was wrong.
She couldn't move her head and her body felt heavy and hot. Panic soon
gave way to laughter though when Mary realized the problem. She was covered,
literally blanketed in every treasure Lucky owned! While she had slept
the sorrowing dog had made trip after trip to the basement and back
bringing his beloved mistress his favorite things in life. He had covered
her with
his love. Mary forgot about dying. Instead she and Lucky began living
again, walking further and further together every night.
It's been 12 years now and Mary is still cancer-free. Lucky? He still
steals treasures and stashes them in his toy box but Mary remains his
greatest treasure.
Live everyday to the fullest...because every day is a blessing from
God! He covers you with His treasures and His love!
Hugs,
May you always have work for your hands to do.
May your pockets hold always a coin or two.
May the sun shine bright on your windowpane.
May the rainbow be certain to follow each rain.
May the hand of a friend always be near you.
And may God fill your heart with gladness to cheer you.
Be Inspired
May you be inspired today...
May you be encouraged to travel your path
with sure feet, confident in your direction.
May you be spurred on to explore,
to face the challenge, to go to the next level.
May you experience many moments
when you want to stand up and shout, “Huzzah! How grand this life is and I
want more of it!”
May you fall asleep exhausted
but giddy with anticipation for what is to come,
as though you cannot wait until the morning to continue the adventure,
to see what glorious miracles are going to occur.
And finally, may you realize that you do not have the power to create such a
day
and such a life for yourself, but that it has been given to you by a higher
power for you possess it.
I've Wondered, Lord
I've wondered, Lord, how it can be
You hear me when I call?
I'm only one of millions, and
Your love is over all.
How can it be Your Holy ear
Is tuned to hear my cries?
How can You know what troubles me
And see tears in my eyes?
Do I presume too much when I
Approach Your sacred throne,
And dare to think that I can spend
Some time with You alone?
Sometimes I am so weary
I don't even want to pray.
I feel confused; things look wrong;
I don't know what to say.
In quietness and confidence,
I seek a place apart,
And rest until I feel Your Spirit
Touch my trembling heart.
Although I cannot understand,
Somehow, I know You've heard,
Like lovers who communicate
Without a single word.
You are so great! I am so small.
I'm glad it is this way.
All things are possible with You;
You hear me when I pray.
Great God of all the universe,
In joy or in distress,
I rest myself in all You are,
For you are limitless!

Let us continue to pray for one another for all of our needs and the needs
of our loved ones.
Scripture Reflection for today by Patrick Carnevale
Today's readings 11/24/14
Rev.14:1-5; Ps.24:1-6; Lk.21:1-4
When we listen to St.John describe "The Lamb's Companions" in light of what
King David says about those "who can go up the Mountain of the Lord" we
can't help but wonder about the rest of us who don't quite fit into that
same "clean of hand and pure of heart" mold. The reality is the only people
who can claim to fit that description can only do so by the Grace of God,
and so the only thing the rest of us can do is follow the example given by
"the poor widow" in today's Gospel by giving "our whole livelihood" to God
without fear of how "poor" our gift may seem. No one knows us better than
God does, he knows all about our desires and our abilities better than we do
and He embraces us in spite of our shortcomings and failures, and it's
important for us to do the same thing. That's because the enemy uses
discouragement to keep us from reaching out to Our Holy God due to the
disparity between us and Him, and we need to dismiss those feelings right
away the same way the poor widow did. It isn't the gift that matters to God
as much as it is the reason behind our giving it, and if it's given out of
love and faith in His Love for us He will embrace it for what it truly is -
"our whole livelihood" - and there is no gift more precious to Him that
that.
God bless you,
In Jesus - Pat
The Lord is My Shepherd
Lord, we are Your people, the sheep of Your flock.
Heal the sheep who are wounded,
touch the sheep who are in pain,
clean the sheep who are soiled,
warm the lambs who are cold.
Help us to know the Father's love
through Jesus the Shepherd and through His Holy Spirit.
Help us to lift up that love, and show it all over this land.
Help us to build love on justice and justice on love.
Help us to believe mightily, hope joyfully, love divinely.
Renew us that we may renew the face of the earth.
Amen.

Good morning
Keeping Linus in prayer that therapy will help with the vertigo and also for Sammy. Gloria, I will have to go back and read yesterday's posts, I missed Bev but glad to hear she posted. Hey Bev! This is funny that she posted because yesterday I was thinking about all of the ladies we haven't heard from in a while and here Bev is. It would be nice to hear from the others and I hope all is well with them and their families.
Hello to Danky.
Harlene, your emails crack me up, thanks for sending my way.
I'm trying to get busy this morning with all I have to do. Y'all see where I am right now! lol
The warm temps we had yesterday have gone by the wayside. It's not too bad right now, nothing close to what Gloria has.
I can't think of anything else to say so I will hush. Thanks for your prayers for my family as they travel.
Y'all have a good day, stay warm, stay at peace, stay blessed.

Good morning ladies - Thank you for all the warm and kind thoughts and messages.
Gloria - Once again thank you for your faithfulness. My prayers for you, Linus, Sammy and may our Lord's will be done in each of your lives. We believe His plan is perfect as well as His timing and His methods and we trust You Lord. Darla and her husband must still live in Texas and I also pray for safe travels for you. Thank you for "The Lord is my Shepherd" - nice food for thought.
Hi Danky. Harlene - I learned or should say am learning to count my blessings and not my troubles each day. It makes for peace and contentment. Lucy - I enjoy the pictures. I also am trying to get my day started and decided to start here.
Gloria - Thank you for reminding me Hopefully's granddaughter's name is Bree. I recall she had a classmate, a little boy that was deeply troubled and I recall praying for he and his family. Alex had a major surgery and I think he was maybe seven or so and praise the Lord his surgery was successful and he was doing well. I enjoyed On The Bay and hearing about her mom, sister and her son and his dogs. I do pray they are all doing well.
JJ - Thank you for reminding me who posted about Alex. It's interesting how so many of these people and their lives touched us.
We still have a high wind warning here and this morning it is 36. Gloria I am thankful our temps are usually not as cold as yours. I am less fond of the cold it seems each year.
In case I don't post tomorrow I am wishing everyone and your loved ones a very Happy Thanksgiving Day and special blessings.

Gloria, that is such wonderful news on Linus getting the appt for PT -- with the very one Lori recommended, too. Praying this brings him lasting relief. Yes, no more scary episodes of vertigo. Hoping it will warm up there for you soon.
Was so relieved to read, too, that BGB's doctor was successful in getting her BP meds straight with the ins co. That can prove tedious too often, so I thank the Lord for the quick answer to prayers.
When I first joined up here, I recall the nice poster named Carolina. Hoping she is well.
Wishing you each a most blessed Thanksgiving and safe travels for you, or your loved ones arriving.

Thanksgiving is such a joyous time of the year to me. I love the autumn colors and the cooler temps. Today is about 70 degrees and my yard crew baged up the falling leaves. My mouth is watering as I await the tastes of all the yummy foods that await me and my family. I want to tell each of you how dear you are to me. I pray for a day of beauty and joy for you. May you walk in the glow of God's perfect love.
I choose to be happy and joyful for just what I have. Gloria, you are a ray of sunshine that brightens our path each and every day. What a dear friend you are to us.
Hugs to all of you here. Sweet Cakers I adore you. I have been away for a while but even if I am not here, please know that I am healthy and happy and blessed. My precious baby grandson is such a joy - he is also healthy and happy and full of life and love.
Happy Thanksgiving. I love you all.

Danky - Happy Thanksgiving to you too!! On our Anniversary party we had one cream can and we also used a turkey fryer for the other cream can - that works too. You can even look it up on google about cream can dinners.
Harlene - His PT this morning seems promising. He had to go thru lots of testings, and the whole thing is balance, nothing about the crystals in the ear. He has homework to do every day until he goes back again next Tuesday - I have to help with the homework. Re-program his brain so he has good balance again. Lori's client swears by this place for helping her. And yes, both dogs are going to Texas.
Lucy - wouldn't that be fun if the missing ladies would post for Thanksgiving? What fun that would be to hear from them again. Thanks for keeping Linus in prayer - prayer is what will work. God works thru people. Woke up to only 4 degrees. It's 18 now and sunny.
Bev - Yes, Darla and Greg still live in Texas. Greg is an electrical engineer and he just got a new job in Savannah, Georgia, but he can work at home, so it doesn't matter where he lives. Because of this job, now they can spend more time here in the summers when Darla is off from teaching. That will be wonderful. I can't tell you enough how happy I am to see you post here again!!! You are so loved! How long are you married now? I see that Harlene has the answer about Alex. You, my dear, have a great memory!
Blue - now those are nice pumpkins! Love their messages. Nice Thanksgiving graphic too. So glad you got the right kind of meds now - that is a blessing! Take care!
