Meditation for the day:

"Where two or three are gathered in my name, I am there among them." The
spirit of God can come upon God's followers when they are all together
at one time, in one place, and with one accord. When two or three
consecrated souls are together at a meeting place, the spirit of God is
there to help and guide them. Where any sincere group of people are
together, reverently seeking the help of God, God's power and God's
spirit are there to inspire them.

Prayer for the day:

I pray that I may be in accord with the members of my group. I pray
that I may feel the strength of a consecrated group.

Peace of the Lord be with you all!! Hope your day went well. It's warming
up a bit - snow is still here yet though. It should be 50 by Thanksgiving -
good traveling weather. Lori called and she and Darla are talking Wedding
plans - Darla wants a table for a Family tree on both sides - so she's
asking for pictures. That should be nice - I've got my parent's Wedding
picture and my in-law's Wedding picture. Today was a laid back day - just
cleaning out some drawers trying to find some things, and finding things I
didn't know I had yet and getting rid of things I don't want anymore. For
supper I made us a stir fry - with all fresh veggies and left over chicken -
and only put teriyaki sauce in it and rice and it was so good!! A good low
glycemic meal. At Mass this morning Nancy was there with her family and I
got to give her a hug - asked her what Richard died of yesterday morning - she
said he had a seizure, and this time he didn't come out of it, and he did
have a weak heart. She has a daughter who's a Nun and she was there! The
funeral won't be until Saturday.

Wisdom Comes from Only One Source

Daniel 1:1-6, 8-20 / Lk 21:1-4

Lots of people spend their whole lives waiting for an invitation like the
one that Daniel and his friends received in today’s reading from the book of
Daniel. By order of the King of Babylon, they were selected for special
training in preparation for entering the king’s service. It was their ‘main
chance,’ the guarantee of a distinguished career at the top.

Daniel was pleased, no doubt about it, but at the same time he set some
clear limits inside his own head: He wouldn’t compromise his faith
connection to God in order to advance his career. Among other things, this
meant that he would continue to observe faithfully the laws that God had
given his people.

Daniel was a young man with an undivided heart and an openness to the Lord
that was total. Because this was so, the Lord was able to give him what many
people are never able to receive: Wisdom and insight into life’s meaning and
mysteries. And because he was wise, Daniel could help the king as no one
else could.

And that brings us to today’s question: How wise are we in the things that
really matter? What is our insight worth as we try to help our neighbors and
friends struggle with life’s mysteries? Is there anything of substance
inside us?

If we want to have something of value to give, we’­d better be well
connected to The One Who Is Wise!

A SIMPLE LITTLE PRAYER

"GOD'S PROMISES"

Man: It is impossible!

Mother as Missionary

This is an essay written by a twelve-year-old
girl.

When I was asked to write about a missionary I
know, a few people crossed my mind, like Mother
Teresa. Then I thought, "But I can't write about
one of those great people, because I don't really
know them."

The person I think is a missionary, and a good
one, is my mother. This may sound peculiar, but
you don't have to be ordained to be a missionary.

My mum's mission is to be a housewife and mother
to me and our family. My mum has never been
selfish and put herself first before her family.
I have never been starved or without her endless
love. And just like the famous missionaries, my
mother has needed a lot of courage. She could
easily have gone off to bingo and left me, but
she didn't. She made the supreme sacrifice of
thinking about me before herself. I am very lucky
to have a missionary mother.

HEALTH CHECK-UP BY GOD

I went to the Lord's Clinic to have my routine check-up and I
confirmed I was ill.

When Jesus took my blood pressure, He saw I was low in tenderness.

When He read my temperature, the thermometer registered 40 degrees of
anxiety.

He ran an electrocardiogram and found that I needed several "love
bypasses" since my arteries were blocked with loneliness and could not
provide for an empty heart.

I went to orthopedics, because I could not walk by my brother's side
and I could not hug my friends, since I had fractured myself when
tripping with
envy.

He also found I was short-sighted, since I could not see beyond the
shortcomings of my brothers and sisters.

When I complained about deafness, the diagnostic was that I had sopped
listening to Jesus' voice talking to me on a daily basis.

For all of that, Jesus gave me a free consultation thanks to His
mercifulness, so my pledge is to, once I leave this clinic, only take
the natural remedies He prescribed through his words of truth:

* Every morning take a full glass of gratitude.
* When getting to work, take one spoon of peace.
* Every hour, take one pill of patience, one cup of brotherhood and
one glass of humility
* When getting home, take one dose of love
* When getting to bed, take two caplets of clear conscience

Do not give in to sadness or desperation for what you are going
through today.

God knows how you feel...

God knows exactly and with perfection what is being allowed to happen
to you in your life at this precise moment.

God's purpose for you is simply perfect.

He wants to show you things that only you can understand by living
what you are living, and by being in the place you are now.

May God give you...
* For every storm, a rainbow
* For every tear, a smile,
* For every care, a promise,
* And a blessing in each trial.

For every problem life sends, a faithful friend to share,
For ever sigh, a sweet song,
And an answer for each prayer.

Prayer for the Gift of Wisdom
Great is the wisdom of the Lord!
God Almighty, Your Wisdom includes
An understanding of what is fair,
What is logical, what is true,
What is right and what is lasting.
It mirrors Your pure intellect!
I entreat You to grant me such Wisdom,
That my labours may reflect Your insight.
Your Wisdom expands in Your creations,
Displaying complexity and multiplicity.
Your Wisdom is an eternity ahead of man.
May Your wisdom flourish forever!
