Daily Positive Thread for Tuesday

There is great joy in forgiving and being forgiven. Lord, help me to move
past any hurts that I have so that I may be freed of their burden.

Scripture for the day:

"Jesus straightened up and said to her, 'Woman, where are they? Has no
one condemned you?' She said, 'No one, sir.' And Jesus said,
'Neither do I condemn you. Go your way, and from now on do not sin
again.'" ~John 8:10-11

Meditation for the day:

We can ask God in daily prayer to give us the strength to change.
When we ask God to change us, we can at the same time fully trust God.
If we do not fully trust God, God cannot help until we are a ready.
A rescuer finds it difficult to help a drowning person who is putting
up too much of a struggle. The person's futile efforts render them
more helpless, until he or she is wholly at the rescuer's mercy. Just
so must we be wholly at God's mercy before we can be rescued.

Prayer for the day:

I pray that I may be daily willing to be changed. I pray that I may
put myself wholly at the mercy of God.

Hello my friends! How was your day? Today was just an ordinary day for me -
until we went to Lori's for supper - she wanted us there again for the
Tricks and Treeters, She made whole chicken on the rotisserie on the grill.
Very tasty! We had to leave Sammy at home - too many doorbells tonight.
He'd bark all night! Had a real nice visit - and I called Sister LaDonna
while at Lori's there and found out that after we left her, she was so
exhausted she just wanted to go to bed so she was put to bed and she slept
well until 1:30 when she woke up in pain so is still dealing with that. She
asks for prayers for tonight as she has a hunch she'll need our prayers. My
blessings are that I heard that Cory won't have to go to Afsganastan! He'll
just stay in reserves.

My Ways Are Not Your Ways
by Monsignor Dennis Clark, Ph.D.

Rom 11:29-36 / Lk 14:12-14

One of the perennial mistakes we make is trying to figure out what God is
thinking and why God did this or didn’t do that. It gets us in all kinds of
trouble, sometimes even causing us to doubt that God really cares for us or
even bothers to give us a second glance after creating us. That’s the bad
idea that the deists of the enlightenment wandered into, and there are
plenty of equally bad ideas about God still making the rounds.

The crunch can come when we face a tragedy like the cancer death of a little
child or the freeway death of a devoted mother of eight. And we can really
go over the top when we think about the Holocaust or the thousands of bodies
in mass graves in dozens of countries around the world. “I want answers, and
I want them now!” we may in effect be saying. If so, we’re wasting our
breath, for our time is not God’s time, nor is our schedule God’s. Paul says
it in today’s first reading: “How inscrutable his judgments, how
unsearchable his ways.”

So what are we left with? Both our faith in the goodness of God and our
personal experience, part of it directly intuitive, that God abides with us
and never leaves, and that his love for us is undying. In the words of the
poet, “That’s all you know, and all you need to know.”

WHEN YOU THOUGHT I WASN'T LOOKING
Author Unknown

When you thought I wasn't looking, by a Child

A message every parent should read, because your children are watching
and doing as you do, not as you say.

"When you thought I wasn't looking, I saw you hang my first painting
on the refrigerator, and I immediately wanted to paint another one.

When you thought I wasn't looking, I saw you feed a stray cat, and I
learned that it was good to be kind to animals.

When you thought I wasn't looking, I saw you make my favorite cake for
me and I learned that little things can be the special things in life.

When you though I wasn't looking, I heard you say a prayer, and I knew
there is a God I could always talk to and I learned to trust in God.

When you thought I wasn't looking, I saw you make a meal and take it
to a friend who was sick, and I learned that we all have to help take
care of each other.

When you thought I wasn't looking, I saw you give of your time and
money to help people who had nothing and I learned that those who have
something should give to those who don't.

When you thought I wasn't looking, I felt you kiss me good night and I
felt loved and safe.

When you though I wasn't looking, I saw you take care of our house and
everyone in it and I learned we have to take care of what we are
given.

When you thought I wasn't looking, I saw how you handled your
responsibilities, even when you didn't feel good and I learned that I
would have to be responsible when I grow up.

When you thought I wasn't looking, I saw tears come from your eyes and
I learned that sometimes things hurt, but its all right to cry.

When you thought I wasn't looking, I saw that you cared and I wanted
to be everything that I could be.

When you thought I wasn't looking, I learned most of life's lessons
that I need to know to be good and productive person when I grow up.

When you thought I wasn't looking, I looked at you and wanted to say,
'Thanks for all the things I saw when you thought I wasn't looking.'"

Each of us - parent, grandparent or friend - influence the life of a
child.

The Secret

One day, one friend asked another,
"How is it that you are always so happy?
You have so much energy,
and you never seem to get down."

With her eyes smiling, she said, "I know the Secret!"

"What secret is that?"

To which she replied, "I'll tell you all about it,
but you have to promise to share the Secret with others."

"The Secret is this:
I have learned there is little I can do in my life that will make me truly
happy.
I must depend on God to make me happy and to meet my needs.
When a need arises in my life, I have to trust God to supply according to
HIS riches. I have learned most of the time I don't need half of what I
think I do.
He has never let me down. Since I learned that 'Secret', I am happy."

The questioner's first thought was,
"That's too simple!" But upon reflecting over her own life she recalled how
she thought a bigger house would make her happy, but it didn't! She thought
a better paying job would make her happy, but it hadn't. When did she
realize her greatest happiness? Sitting on the floor with her grandchildren,
playing games, eating pizza or reading a story, a simple gift from God.

Now you know it too!
We can't depend on people to make us happy.
Only GOD in His infinite wisdom can do that.
Trust HIM! And now I pass the Secret on to you! So once you get it, what
will you do?

YOU have to tell someone the Secret, too!
That GOD in His wisdom will take care of YOU!

*Note from me... this is the secret I learned once receiving the Holy
Spirit!

Guardian Angel Prayer For Friends

Guardian Angel,
watch over those whose names you can read in my heart.
Guard over them with every care
and make their way easy and their labors fruitful.
Dry their tears if they weep;
sanctify their joys;
raise their courage if they weaken;
restore their hope if they lose heart,
their health if they be ill,
truth if they err,
repentance if they fail...

Amen.

Good night all - I'm falling asleep here at the computer - better get to
bed!! Love you all, God bless your tomorrow!!
