Daily Positive Thread for Tuesday

Much time is spent fearing that which isn't really there in the first place.
Lord, help me conquer my fears and overcome my difficulties as they
happen rather than giving up and letting my difficulties overcome me.

"Be merciful to me, O God, be merciful to me, for in you my soul takes
refuge; in the shadow of your wings I will take refuge, until the
destroying storms pass by." ~Psalm 57:1

M E D I T A T I O N F O R T H E D A Y

"My soul is restless until it finds its rest in Thee." A river flows
on, until it loses itself in the sea. Our spirits long for rest in
the Spirit of God. We can yearn to realize a peace, a rest, a
satisfaction that we have never found in the world or its pursuits.
Some of us are not conscious of our need, and can shut the doors
of our spirits against the Spirit of God. That makes it difficult for
us to find true peace.

I pray that I may feel the divine unrest. I pray that my soul may
find its rest in God.

Greetings to you, my friends - all you positive pals and grateful gals.
Hope your day went well. We had a nice day here today - I was sitting on
the swing, and I noticed a little bird got stuck on the bird feeder, he got
his foot stuck and he tried to fly but couldn't, poor thing, he never
peeped, was just quiet and waited. I couldn't help him, it was too high, so
I prayed that God would send an angel to free him. Then I picked
raspberries and our neighbor was right there and I told him about the bird,
and he right away got a step ladder - put a glove on, and freed the bird!
He thought his leg might be hurt though, but he flew away happily to be
free! God used our neighbor, Tom, to be the angel. Another blessing Lori
got to a different town today with her friend and got some nice plants -
real cheap - for 4.00. For her and for us. Blooming pinky winky one - it's
a pink hydrangia, and some others.
Tomorrow is closing - please pray everything goes smoothly.

Mother Teresa Said...

"True obedience is a genuine act of love.
Obedience makes us practice the other virtues.
It likens us to martyrs,
for it is a much greater martyrdom to persevere
in obedience all through life
than to die in a moment by a stroke of the sword."

HOW TO SAVE YOUR CHILDREN THROUGH THE ROSARY

During one of the cenacles which Fr. Gobbi gave in the United States, he was
urged by many concerned people to ask Our Lady specifically what could be
done to save the youth from the seductions of the world which were leading
many of them astray and causing them to leave the Church. Our Lady gave Fr.
Gobbi this definite and final solution to console the parents who are so
concerned about the salvation of their children:

* Pray the Rosary
* Everytime you pray the Rosary, say: "With this Rosary, I bind all my
children to the Immaculate Heart of Mary for her guidance and protection."
* In doing so, Our Lady promised "to see to their souls."

Having such a powerful weapon at our disposal, we must make use of it to
save our youth! Let us bring all her children, young and old alike, into the
refuge of her Immaculate Heart!"

Tell the Devil Today

Tell the devil today, he is a liar!; He will not take your joy,
your peace or disturb your spirit.

Tell him he cannot sleep in your bed - there's not enough cover.

Tell him he cannot sit in your chair - you will not give him a
cushion of comfort.

Tell him he can't touch your body - it's covered with the blood.

Tell him he cannot audit your finances - you've changed accountants.

Tell him he cannot enter your home - the locks have been changed.

Tell him to leave your workplace - he's not on your list of things to
do for today.

Tell him to take his hands off your children - because you've had
hands laid on them.

Tell him you have no time for his nonsense, criticism or fears - you
are on a mission, and you walk by faith.

Tell him no more tears, heartaches, or headaches - because there's
another, He, that restoreth your soul.

Tell him; Tell him; Tell him; Tell him.

Tell him, today, you have a gentle, powerful inner peace within that
consumes you and leaves no room for confusion.

Tell him, today you will - respond soothingly to a crying child, a
tense spouse, or an impatient friend.

Tell him, today, you will find no fault with a relative, friend, or
colleague.

Tell him to leave your tongue alone - for today you will not talk of
anyone, before placing God at the beginning of your thought.

Tell him, wherever you are, that God Is.

Tell him, God said, "My people will abide in a peaceful
habitation...and in quiet resting places." [Isaiah 32:18]

Today, Tell him he is a liar!!!, Amen

Silky white clouds are all around
The blue of the sky that do surround
I step ever closer to reach my goal
No matter how steep or painfully slow
I look to the One who's face I see
And to His promise, He'll come back for me
As I travel this long, lengthy path
I look around for God's holy wrath
It gets closer and closer to view
I'm now going down, my worries grew
Then I looked up to His glorious face
On the wings of God's most spacious grace
And my journey has now, once again
Found those precious steps that do ascend
So many people from all parts of my life
From my mother to my brother and even my wife
Are walking these steps just hence to me
As I look at them, I fail to see
I'm now going down, away from my goal
It seems God's grace has ceased to flow
As these steps were dropping so deep
My descent, I knew, would soon be complete
Until I looked up, to see Him afar
He sent me a bright, glistening star
To once again light my very way
And turn the night into a brilliant day
But with this path, so long and so steep
I can't go any faster, even when I leap
So I'm resigned to move steady and slow
Believing each day His face will bestow
A means for direction that I must take
Living my life, simply, for Christ's sake
I mustn't worry about what's all around
For those are only things, here on the ground
My eyes must be focused up there
For my path is laid, when that's where I stare

CAN YOU RELATE?

September 12, 2011

I drive into work listening to gospel music or a pre-recorded sermon
on the radio. I get out of the car and walk to the building entrance.

As I open the building door I leave just enough room for me to get in
and I leave Jesus standing outside as the door closes behind me. He's
standing with His palms on the door glass and watches me as I get on
the elevator.

His eyes are sad and He turns and goes to sit on the stone bench.
There He'll sit patiently and wait for me for the next 9 hours.

First two hours of work - I fuss and complain about things not going
right. Jesus, sitting with his chin in His hand looks upward toward
the building wishing He could help me.

By lunch time - I'm flustered, regretting I work in this place and
sputtering bitterness all over folks.

Jesus comes around to the side of the building where my cubicle is
located. He looks up from the ground trying to get my attention but I
can't hear him; my focus is on my problems.

Jesus goes back to the front of the building, sits down and continues
to wait for me. He thinks to Himself as He looks up to the third
floor, "She went in there defenseless. If only she had taken me in
there with her. When will she learn?"

End of the day - I'm pooped, run down, no energy, irritable &
frustrated. I leave the building & Jesus gets up happily to greet me
but I'm in no mood for Him now. I've just been to h ell and back and
the last thing I want to do is be bothered with anyone.

God just actually showed me this is how I'VE been acting. He showed me
each act and worst of all, He let Me feel a small portion of how
grieved he was because of my actions and attitude. I left Jesus
standing outside, almost let the door smack him in His face.

From time to time our jobs overwhelm us and we completely forget to
"take Jesus with us". We may not go around cursing anyone out or
punching anyone in the face (hopefully not) but what are our actions
saying about us and about who or whose we are?

We are the salt of the Earth and the light of the world. A city on a
hill cannot be hidden. Neither do people light a lamp and put it under
a bowl. Instead they put it on its stand, and it gives light to
everyone in the house. Matt. 5:13-15.

We should be bringing peace to our jobs and not be the cause of
confusion. We should be the ones to bring our gifts & talents to the
table to help in WHATEVER area God has chosen for us to work in.

Col.3:23-24-"Whatever you do, work at it with ALL your heart, as
working for the Lord, not for men, since you know that you will
receive an inheritance from the Lord as a reward. It is the Lord
Christ you are serving."

A Prayer for Guidance

Lord Jesus, may everything I do begin with You,
continue with Your help,
and be done under Your guidance.
May my sharing in the Mass free me from my sins,
and make me worthy of Your healing.
May I grow in Your Love and Your service,
and become a pleasing offering to You;
and with You to Your Father.
May the mystery I celebrate help me
to reach eternal life with you.

Prayer for the Gift of Knowledge

Absolute and all knowing God,
Nothing is hidden from Your sight.
In the prescience since the beginning,
All knowledge existed within You.
Kindly share Your knowledge with me,
Making me aware of what is meant to be,
Permitting my soul to understand it,
And wisdom to agree with its outcome.
Provide me with the gift of discretion,
To prudently apply received knowledge,
To ensure the fulfillment of Your Will.
Your knowledge shines forth forever!

Good night all - Sweet Dreams! Have a good day tomorrow!
