Daily Positive Thread for Thursday

Greetings my friends! Today I was able to do some cleaning and laundry, and take care of Ollie - no coughing spells last night or today. I made a good supper of slicing beef roast in thick slices, fried with onion and then roasted - and I made some good stir fries and Lori was here for supper - everything was delicious! Glad she loved it! It was a great blessing to get done today what I got done! I am getting better! Linus had another good day at work today, busy as ever! When it's that busy the time flies by fast. His feet don't hurt there!! Praise the Lord for more added blessings! Let us always count our blessings and share with us!

Listen carefully to the things you say. The advice we give

to others is often the best advice for us to follow. Lord, help

me to follow that which I know is right even when it is difficult.

Scripture for the day:

One of the scribes asked Jesus, 'Which commandment is the first of all?'

Jesus answered, "The first is, 'Hear, O Israel: the Lord our God, the Lord

is one; you shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, and with all

your soul, and with all your mind, and with all your strength.' The second

is this, 'You shall love your neighbor as yourself.' There is no other

commandment greater than these." ~Mark 12:28-31

Meditation for the day:

The elimination of selfishness is the key to happiness and can only be

accomplished with God's help. We can start out with spark of God's spirit

but large amounts of selfishness. As we grow and come in contact with other

people, we can take one of two paths. We can become more and more selfish

and practically push out God's power and influence in our lives, or we can

become more unselfish and develop our spirituality until it becomes the most

important thing in our lives.

Prayer for the day:

I pray that I may grow more and more unselfish, honest, pure and loving.

I pray that I may take the right path this day and every day.

A Prayer for Lent

God of times and seasons, you have brought us again to Lent for the study of

Your Word, for the remembrance of the temptation of Your Son, and for the

contemplation of His cross. The birds know their seasons; forbid that we be

blind to our times. Grant us a Lenten blessing, and may no one miss this

time of growth. We ask this through Christ our Lord. Amen.

Let Go .....

To "LET GO" Does not mean to stop caring, it means I can't do it for someone

else.

To "LET GO" Is not to cut myself off, it's the realization that I can't

control another human being.

To "LET GO" Is not to enable, but to allow someone to learn from their

natural consequences.

To "LET GO" Is to admit powerlessness , which means the outcome is not in my

hands.

To "LET GO" Is not to try to change or blame another, but to make the most

of myself.

To "LET GO" Is not to care for, but to care about.

To "LET GO" Is not to fix, but to be supportive, and not violate my values.

To "LET GO" Is not to judge, but to allow another to be a human being.

To "LET GO" Is not to be in the middle, arranging all the outcomes , but to

allow God to work in the lives of others.

To "LET GO" Is not to be protective, it's to permit another to face reality.

To "LET GO" Is not to deny, but to accept .

To "LET GO" Is not to nag, scold or argue with another person, but instead

to search out my own shortcomings and allow God to correct them.

To "LET GO" Does not mean to deny the shortcomings in others, but to accept

others unconditionally in love.

To "LET GO" Is not to adjust everything to my desires, but to accept each

day as it comes; knowing God offers it to me for growth.

To "LET GO" Is not to criticize or regulate anybody, but to try to become

the person I understand God wants me to be.

To "LET GO" Does not mean to compete against another human being, but

rather, to compete within myself to learn "self- control" through

circumstances God brings into my life.

To "LET GO" Does mean to fear less and love more.

To "LET GO" Means I don't demand my own way, but that I hold firm to my

values and beliefs-- while allowing others the same privilege.

To "LET GO" Doesn't mean that I expect God to do everything for me, but that

I let God show me how to do His will for my life.

THE FOUR CANDLES

Author Unknown

The Four Candles burned slowly. Their Ambiance was so soft you could

hear them speak...

The first candle said, "I Am Peace, but these days, nobody wants to

keep me lit."

Then Peace's flame slowly diminishes and goes out completely.

The second candle says, "I Am Faith, but these days, I am no longer

indispensable."

Then Faith's flame slowly diminishes and goes out completely.

Sadly the third candle spoke, "I Am Love and I haven't the strength to

stay lit any longer."

"People put me aside and don't understand my importance. They even

forget to love those who are nearest to them."

And waiting no longer, Love goes out completely.

Suddenly...

A child enters the room and sees the three candles no longer burning.

The child begins to cry, "Why are you not burning? You are supposed to

stay lit until the end."

Then the Fourth Candle spoke gently to the little boy, "Don't be

afraid, for I Am Hope, and while I still burn, we can re-light the

other candles."

With Shining eyes the child took the Candle of Hope and lit the other

three candles.

Never let the Flame of Hope go out of your life.

With Hope, no matter how bad things look and are...Peace, Faith and

Love can Shine Brightly in our lives.

Re: Daily Positive Thread for Thursday

Blessings to all here. I am still struggling with my COPD. Please pray for me. I am blessed in so many ways. Everyone have a good day. Now that the weather is getting warmer, I can go to mass. That is a blessing.

We should all remember the Easter story how Jesus gave His life for each of us. He Lives!
