Daily Positive Thread for Thursday

No gift is so precious as love. Gratefully trust God and give Him your love.
Lord, I give You my heart.

Scripture for the day:

"There is no fear in love, but perfect love casts out fear; for fear has
to do with punishment, and whoever fears has not reached perfection in
love." 1 John 4:18

Meditation for the day:

Love and fear cannot dwell together. By their very natures, they cannot
exist side by side. Fear is a very strong force. And therefore a weak
and vacillating love can soon be routed by fear. But a strong love, a
love that trusts in God, is sure eventually to conquer fear. The only
sure way to dispel fear is to have the love of God more and more in our
hearts and souls.

Prayer for the day:

I pray that love will drive out the fear in my life. I pray that my
fear will flee before the power of the love of God.

Greetings my friends! It's snowing! It started this afternoon and we were
at Dr. Mike's for Linus' back - in that little while it sure was coming
down - big flakes. I was thinking of Darla and Greg driving tonight thru
the night, but where they are, it's still nice out, then they have the whole
state of Okla. to go thru yet, hope by the time they get here, the weather
and roads will be nice - praying for that! Joe will be cremated. He can't
be shown anyway, this will be harder, I'm sure, hard for closure. It is
still hard to believe ! Good that Linus got in this afternoon for his
back - the adjustment helped right away. Thanks to all of you for your
support! It means a lot to me that you care. I am thinking of all my
blessings today - in spite of how I feel, I know God is with me, and also
with my sister and her girls - and I know that He will give them strength -
all that they need, because that's the kind of God we have. Joe is with his
Dad now - they were very close - his Dad died of cancer - too young, too. I
am so very blessed having my dear hubby here with me - who is a great
support too. Grateful for all my sisters, and daughters - and even grateful
that my supper turned out good! I was creative and sliced potatoes in the
food processor - cooked them, and browned hamburger like for a hot dish,
with onions, but put in a gluten free organic gravy mix, and put the cooked
potatoes in that - and it was very good! Praise the God! I want to use up
some older potatoes I got in a big sack at the Farmer's Market, so thought
I'd do this.

Mother Teresa Said...
Faith is a gift from God.
When God comes to you or you go to God, then you will have the chance to
accept Him or reject Him.
Accepting Him is the gift of faith.

Prayer For the Unity of the Church

O God the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, our only Savior,
the Prince of Peace: Give us grace seriously to lay to heart the
great dangers we are in by our unhappy divisions; take away
all hatred and prejudice, and whatever else may hinder us
from godly union and concord; that, as there is but one Body
and one Spirit, one hope of our calling, one Lord, one Faith,
one Baptism, one God and Father of us all, so we may be all
of one heart and of one soul, united in one holy bond of truth
and peace, of faith and charity, and may with one mind and
one mouth glorify You ; through Jesus Christ our Lord.
Amen.

from Coping With Loss: Praying Your Way to Acceptance

WHEN I FORGET TO PRAY

Sometimes when things are going great I forget to Pray
Then in darkness I stumble and lose my way.

I open a closet where I have tucked Jesus in
I have to ask for Guidance to find my way Again

Once More a light begins to shine
I find Peace and Contentment in this troubled Life of Mine

He says My Child did you forget I am always here for you
To help with the bad times you go through

I am The Alpha and Omega The Beginning and The End
Child, I will not Forsake You, I am Your Best Friend.

Remember when you feel forsaken and you lose your way.
Just Bow Your Head and Open Up Your Heart
Don't Forget To Pray!

written by Rose Ballard

There was a little boy visiting his grandparents on their farm. He was given
a slingshot to play with in the woods. He practiced in the woods, but he
could never hit the target.

Getting a little discouraged, he headed back to dinner. As he was walking
back he saw Grandma's pet duck. Just out of impulse, he let the slingshot
fly, hit the duck square in the head, and killed it. He was shocked and
grieved. In a panic, he hid the dead duck in the wood pile, only to see his
sister watching. Sally had seen it all, but she said nothing.

After lunch the next day Grandma said, "Sally, let's wash the dishes." But
Sally said, "Grandma, Johnny told me he wanted to help in the kitchen." Then
she whispered to him, "Remember the duck?" So Johnny did the dishes.

Later that day, Grandpa asked if the children wanted to go fishing and
Grandma said, "I'm sorry but I need Sally to help make supper."

Sally just smiled and said, "Well that's all right because Johnny told me he
wanted to help. She whispered again, "Remember the duck?" So Sally went
fishing and Johnny stayed to help.

After several days of Johnny doing both his chores and Sally's he finally
couldn't stand it any longer. He came to Grandma and confessed the he had
killed the duck.

Grandma knelt down, gave him a hug, and said, "Sweetheart, I know. You see,
I was standing at the window and I saw the whole thing. But because I love
you, I forgave you. I was just wondering how long you would let Sally make a
slave of you."

Thought for the day and everyday there after: Whatever is in your past,
whatever you have done and the devil keeps throwing it up in your face
(lying, debt, fear, hatred, anger, unforgiveness, bitterness, etc.) whatever
it is, you need to know that Jesus Christ was standing at the window and He
saw the whole thing, He has seen your whole life. He wants you to know that
He loves you and that you are forgiven. He's just wondering how long you
will let the devil make a slave of you.

The great thing about God is that when you ask for forgiveness, He not only
forgives you, but He forgets.
