Daily Positive Thread for Thursday

Each day there are lessons to learn and lives to touch. Lord, You
have done so much for me. Help me to repay You.

Scripture for the day:

"And he will destroy on this mountain the shroud that is cast over all
peoples, the sheet that is spread over all nations; he will swallow up
death forever. Then the Lord GOD will wipe away the tears from all
faces, and the disgrace of his people he will take away from all the
earth, for the LORD has spoken. It will be said on that day, Lo, this is
our God; we have waited for him, so that he might save us. This is the
LORD for whom we have waited; let us be glad and rejoice in his
salvation." ~Isaiah 25:7-9

Meditation for the day:

We can live today in the consciousness of God's contact, upholding us in
all good thoughts, words and deeds. If sometimes there seems to be a
shadow on our lives and we feel out of sorts, we can remember that this
is not the withdrawal of God's presence, but only our own temporary
unwillingness to realize it. The quiet gray days are the days for doing
what we must do, but we can know that the consciousness of God's
nearness will return and be with us again, when the gray days are past.

Prayer for the day:

I pray that I may face the dull days with courage. I pray that I may
have faith that the bright days will return.

Hello my friends! Nice warm day here today - almost a record for January!
It'll be nice for our journey to the funeral tomorrow and back Friday! The
little snow that is on the ground will melt!! Well my sisters should all be
together tonight - at Ethel's - staying there overnight - wish I could be
there with them. I'm sure they picked up Erma too - she doesn't live far
from Ethel's and she hasn't seen Sister LaDonna since before the accident.
Looking forward to seeing them tomorrow for the wake etc. and all that
follows. My blessings today - I was able to get two closets cleaned and
organized this afternoon - good accomplishment! Hubby had a good day at
work - and now he's off until Monday! His blessings are my blessings too.
Lori called and said she'll pick Sammy up and keep him with her overnight -
glad I can count on her. In the morning we get our living room carpet
cleaned - a friend comes and does it for us.
I will get Friday's thread out before I leave - and you can start posting on
there then. I will look forward to seeing your posts on tomorrow's thread
and Friday's when we get home.
Thank you all for all your prayers - so much appreciated!

7 Ups For Friendship

1. Open Up.
Be honest, open and candid (tempered with kindness).

2. Stand Up.
For your friends, whether they are there or not.

3. Put Up.
Give your friend the freedom to be imperfect (like you!).

4. Speak Up.
Say what you feel; be generous with sincere (public/private) praise.

5. Show Up.
Be there; do what you say you'll do.

6. Make Up.
Don't hold a grudge; be the first to say, "I'm sorry, please forgive me."

7. Re-Up.
Take inventory and re-commit yourself to the friendship often.

Pass this on to all your friends...

Not Only Christmas Day

Lord, this is my prayer
Not only on Christmas Day
But until I see You face to face
May I live my life this way:

Just like the baby Jesus
I ever hope to be,
Resting in Your loving arms
Trusting in Your sovereignty.

And like the growing Christ child
In wisdom daily learning,
May I ever seek to know You
With my mind and spirit yearning.

Like the Son so faithful
Let me follow in Your light,
Meek and bold, humble and strong
Not afraid to face the night.

Nor cowardly to suffer
And stand for truth alone,
Knowing that Your kingdom
Awaits my going home.

Not afraid to sacrifice
Though great may be the cost,
Mindful how You rescued me
From broken-hearted loss.

Like my risen Savior
The babe, the child, the Son,
May my life forever speak
Of who You are and all You've done.

So while this world rejoices
And celebrates Your birth,
I treasure You, the greatest gift
Unequaled in Your worth.

I long to hear the same words
That welcomed home Your Son,
"Come, good and faithful servant,"
Your Master says, "Well done."

And may heaven welcome others
Who will join with me in praise
Because I lived for Jesus Christ
Not only Christmas Day

Happy New Year From God

Happy New Year--this is God.

This year, as with every year, I will be handling all of your problems.
Please remember, I do not need your help.

If the devil happens to deliver a situation to you that you cannot handle,
do not attempt to resolve it.

Kindly put it all in the SFJTD BOX (Something for Jesus to Do). It will be
addressed in my time, not yours.

Please be patient. Once the matter has been placed in the box, do not hold
onto it.

Do not become impatient and take it back to see if you can find a solution.
Holding on or removal will delay the resolution of your problem.

You must surrender the problem to Me for proper resolution.

If a situation you think you cannot handle arises, please consult Me in
prayer. Together we will come up with proper resolution.

If you do not receive what you anticipate as proper response from Me,
remember--some of God's greatest gifts are unanswered prayer.

Because I do not sleep, there is no need for you to lose any.

Rest, my child...if you need Me, I am but a prayer away.

Peace Prayer

Please help me to walk in your footsteps,
to accompany you on your journey of love and peace,
and to notice how you walk with me through my life.
Help me always to be your friend,
your servant, and your companion.

from John Dear on Peace: An Introduction to His Life and Work

Good night everyone - may your tomorrow be everything you hope it to be -
and God bless you in all that you do!
