Do what is right and good in the eyes of the Lord and receive
the fullness of His blessings. Lord, I thank You for the gifts that
I have received and ask forgiveness for all that I have done wrong.

Scripture for the day:

"Whoever was called in the Lord as a slave is a freed person belonging to
the Lord, just as whoever was free when called is a slave of Christ. You
were bought with a price; do not become slaves of human masters. In
whatever condition you were called, brothers and sisters, there remain with
God." ~1 Corinthians 7:22-24

Meditation for the day:

Cooperation with God is the great necessity for our lives. All else then
can follow naturally. Cooperation with God is the result of our
consciousness of God's presence. Guidance is bound to come to us as we live
more and more with God. We can have many quiet times when we not so much
ask to be shown and led by God, as to feel and realize God's presence. New
spiritual growth and life comes naturally when we cooperate with God.

Prayer for the day:

I pray that God may supply me with strength and show me the direction in
which God wants me to grow. I pray that these things may come naturally
from my cooperation with God.

Hello my friends! Today was a laid back day here - took the Christmas tree
down - been on the phone a lot because Father Bernard died last night and I
found out about it this morning, so called my sister, Deil, she made calls,
too. Father Bernard has one sister left - the youngest in the family. She
lives in California. My sisters are coming for the funeral, Linus will be
driving, the funeral is late - 5:00 PM Mass - Dinner following. I was
shocked to hear that Sister LaDonna will be coming too! Erma can't because
of her Parkinson, and a fall, and she's very sore and it's a long trip.
Father Bernard wrote some books in his lifetime.

Click on Obituries, then on Father Bernard's name - last name is Mischke. I
just got this in email, haven't checked it out yet, but was told his picture
is there.
Had a nice, long visit with Darla on the phone tonight - told her about
Father Bernard, and we both talked to her on speaker.
That's always a nice blessing to talk with her - also my sisters.

Prayer for the Feast of the Holy Name of Jesus - Jan. 3rd


Lord Jesus, we humbly pray You to give us all a great reverence and respect
for Your most holy name. Forgive us for ever having used the name of Jesus
in vain, or without due respect.

Help us remember how reverently and lovingly Your Mother Mary used the name
of Jesus, and how humbly Saint Joseph called You and spoke to You by name.

Your name, dear Jesus, is above every other name in heaven or on earth,
because You are the Jesus, the Savior of all men. You have saved us, and You
have told us to ask God anything in Your name, and it would be granted.

We ask You, humbly and confidently, to bless us and our work, and give us
the rich treasures of Your divine grace, without which we cannot even so
much as pronounce the name of Jesus. Amen.

I Believe...
A Birth Certificate shows we were born. A Death Certificate shows we
died. Pictures show we lived!

That just because two people argue,doesn't mean they don't love each

That we don't have to change friends if we understand that friends

That no matter how good a friend is, they're going to hurt you every

birthdays you've celebrated.

That it isn't always enough, to be forgiven by others. Sometimes, you
have to learn to forgive yourself.

That no matter how bad your heart is broken the world doesn't stop for
your grief.

That our background and circumstances may have influenced who we
are,but, we are responsible for who we become.

That you shouldn't be so eager to find out a secret. It could change
your life Forever.

Two people can look at the exact same thing and see something totally
different.

That your life can be changed in a matter of hours by people who don't
even know you.

I Believe...
That even when you think you have no more to give, when a friend cries
out to you - you will find the strength to help.

That credentials on the wall do not make you a decent human being.

That the people you care about most in life are taken from you too
soon.

That you should send this to all of the people that you believe in,
I just did.

The happiest of people don't necessarily have the best of
everything we just make the most of everything.

Commit Yourself..

For 30 days commit yourself to stop one of your addictive behaviors
(smoking, drinking, chewing, internet surfing, watching TV, etc.)
If you break your commitment in the middle, just smile, forgive yourself,
and start over for another 30 days.

Spend more time listening and less time talking.

Spend half an hour everyday - meditating, walking in nature or dancing
passionately...

Get some things that you were postponing for a long while - done!

If you need support for step number 4 - get it!
Get a housekeeper, a bookkeeper, a gardener, and at least have your car
washed!

Clean your physical space.
Get rid of some old clutter and create space for something new to enter your
life.

Clean your relationships.
If you have an intimate partner with whom you need to spend more time,
schedule it tonight.
Stay on good terms with those you can, and end those relationships that are
never going to support you.

Laugh a lot.
Do you know why angels can fly? Because they take themselves lightly...

Do something you believe you cannot do.
Science has declared that a bumblebee cannot fly, due to its physical
structure.
Do you know why a bumblebee can fly? Because it doesn't read the scientific
literature...

Give something from your heart to a total stranger.
A flower, a smile, a drawing, a chance..

A prayer to the Guardian Angels

Holy Angel of my husband, I commend him this day to your powerful care. Be
with him in his daily work, shield him from every misfortune, and guard him
against all temptation from without and within. And you Angels of my
children look after them wherever they go and I cannot be with them. Let
them return home unharmed in body and soul.

Holy Guardian Angels of my children, you know that I can no longer protect
and oversee and control my children as before, when they were little. They
are entrusted to you. Therefore I ask you with all my motherly (fatherly)
love to protect them this day in body and soul, wherever they go, that they
may remain safe from all harm. Stir their conscience when they waver, and
lend them your strength. You behold at all times the face of the Heavenly
Father; beseech Him to turn all things to good, that one day in union with
you we may praise and bless Him forever.

Holy Guardian Angels of my children, each of you knows his ward better and
deeper than I can. Show me what to do to bring up my children rightly. Help
me to open their hearts to everything good and holy. Teach them to love
Christ as He deserves to be loved.
