Daily Positive Thread for Thursday

Hello my friends! Today's blessings - we didn't have to do much today, kind of laid back and even had a nap, had another of his sibling's birthday out to eat tonight, his brother, Ron's birthday was at a restaurant of his choice, next is his sister, Patty's, which was scheduled to be Sept. 26th - her birthday is Oct. 2nd. We make it when all can come. Praying for you all, my friends, for all of your needs and desires. Let us all expect miracles. God bless you!

Through God we have the power to triumph over even the most hopeless

of tragedies. Lord, You have said, "Ask and You shall receive", so I ask

that You will prepare me day by day to triumph in my dark hours.

Scripture for the day:

"I know that I will remain and continue with all of you for your

progress and joy in faith, so that I may share abundantly in your

boasting in Christ Jesus when I come to you again. Only, live your

life

in a manner worthy of the gospel of Christ, so that, whether I come

and see you or am absent and hear about you, I will know that you are

standing firm in one spirit, striving side by side with one mind for

the faith of the gospel, and are in no way intimidated by your

opponents. For them this is evidence of their destruction, but of your

salvation." ~Philippians 1:25-28

Meditation for the day:

Spiritual progress is the law of our being. We can try to see around

us more and more of beauty and truth, knowledge and power. Today we

can try to be stronger, braver, more loving as a result of what we did

yesterday. This law of spiritual progress gives meaning and purpose

to our lives. We can always expect better things ahead. We can

accomplish much good through the strength of God's spirit in us. We

need not be discouraged. The world is sure to get better, in spite of

setbacks of war, hate, and greed. We can be part of the cure of the

world's ills, rather than part of the disease.

Prayer for the day:

I pray that I may keep progressing the better life. I pray that I may

be a part of the forces for good in the world.

INSPIRATIONAL SAYINGS OF MOTHER TERESA

"Love begins at home."

"Before you speak, it is necessary for you to listen,

for God speaks in the silence of the heart."

"How can we love God whom

We do not see, if we do not love

Our neighbors whom we see,

Whom we touch, with whom we live?"

"Intense love does not measure, it just gives."

"If we really want to love, we must learn how to forgive."

"If we pray, we will believe;

if we believe, we will love,

if we love, we will serve."

"The child is God's gift to the family."

"We can do no great things; only small things with great love."

"If you are humble, nothing will touch you, neither praise nor disgrace,

because you know what you are."

"Do not allow yourself to be disheartened by any failure as long as

you have done your best."

"It is not how much we do, but how much love we put into what we do."

"Works of love are always works of peace."

"Give until it hurts - with a smile."

"If we accept that a mother can kill even her own child, how can we tell

people not to kill one another?"

"The world today is hungry not only for bread but hungry for love;

hungry to be wanted, to be loved."

"The poor are very great people, they can teach us many beautiful things"

"I am so used to seeing the smile on our people, even the dying ones smile."

"Instead of death and sorrow, let us bring peace and joy to the world."

Tell Me about your plans.

What goals have you set? What goals would you like to set? What would you

like to do with your time? Tell Me about your job, your hobbies, your

leisure activities, your visits with family and friends. How would you like

Me to help you? I died for you; certainly I will help you in all other ways,

too.

With what special graces do you want Me to favor you? About which situations

would you like Me to give you insights? Which gifts of My Spirit do you need

to live a more successful Christian life? Ask Me for these, because I long

to share them with you—and to share them abundantly.

Tell Me which problems you want Me to help you resolve, which ones you want

Me to help you get through as you wait for the resolution. Ask Me to help

you increase your trust in our Father’s plans for these problems. He loves

you, I love you, My Holy Spirit loves you, and we, as One, desire what’s

best for you.

Your tears have touched Me. Tell Me what makes you cry. Lean into My

shoulder and let your tears flow. I will absorb your pain, and your tears

will become as drops in the ocean. Tell Me how much you need Me to relieve

your pain. I already bore your pain on My cross; let Me heal you now.

TO BE THANKFUL FOR:

The mess to clean after a party because it means I have been surrounded by

friends.

The taxes I pay because it means that I'm employed.

The clothes that fit a little too snug because it means I have enough to

eat.

My shadow who watches me work because it means I am out in the sunshine.

A lawn that needs mowing, windows that need cleaning and gutters that need

fixing because it means I have a home.

All the complaining I hear about our government because it means we have

freedom of speech.

The space I find at the far end of the parking lot because it means I am

capable of walking.

My huge heating bill because it means I am warm.

The lady behind me in church who sings off key because it means that I can

hear.

The piles of laundry and ironing because it means I have clothes to wear.

Weariness and aching muscles at the end of the day because it means I have

been productive.

The alarm that goes off in the early morning hours because it means that I'm

alive.

Getting too much email bogs me down but at least I know I have friends who

are thinking of me.

Even though I clutch my blanket and growl when The alarm rings, thank you,

Lord, that I can hear. There are many who are deaf.

Even though I keep my eyes closed against the morning light as long as

possible, thank you, Lord, that I can see. Many are blind.

Even though I huddle in my bed and put off rising, thank you Lord, that I

have the strength to rise. There are many who are bedridden.

Even though the first hour of my day is hectic, when socks are lost, toast

is burned and tempers are short, thank you, Lord, for My family. There are

many who are lonely.

Even though our breakfast table never looks like the pictures in magazines

and the menu is at times unbalanced, thank you, Lord, for the food we have.

There are many who are hungry;

Even though the routine of my job often is hard, thank you, Lord, for the

opportunity to work. There are many who have no job.

Even though I grumble and bemoan my fate from day to day and wish my

circumstances were not so modest, thank you, Lord, for life.

Pass this on to the friends you know.

A friend is someone we turn to when our spirits need a lift.

A friend is someone we treasure for our friendship is a gift.

A friend is someone who fills our lives with Beauty, Joy, and Grace and

makes the world we live in A Better and Happier Place.

Perfect Trust

Oh, for the peace of a perfect trust,

My loving God, in thee;

Unwavering faith that never doubts

Thou chooses best for me!

Best, though my plans be all upset;

Best, though the way be rough;

Best, though my earthly store be scant;

In Thee I have enough.

Best, though my health and strength be gone,

Though weary days be mine,

Shut out from much that others have;

Not my will, Lord, but Thine!

And even though disappointments come,

They, too, are best for me,

To wean me from this changing world,

And lead me nearer Thee.

Oh, for the peace of a perfect trust

That looks away from all;

That sees thy hand in everything,

In great events or small.

That hears Thy voice - A Father's voice -

Directing for the best.

Oh, for the peace of a perfect trust,

A heart with Thee at rest.

Jesus -- How Long Do We Have --

What if God decided to give you just a sixty-second test ... to see if You

are ready for heaven, If He asked me, I would beg Him to give me more time.

I have too many things to change about me before I can be tested to be

heaven-worthy. Heaven is "forever" and I sure don't want to miss out

because I only had 60-seconds to shape up.

But then, suppose God said "O.K. ... I will give you a full week for me to

test you for a week to see if you are worthy enough to enter heaven."

Yikes, I would say (that is not fair, I need more time to improve and be out

of all my nasty habits). I need more time.

O.K. God says ... "O.K. ... I will give you five-years to shape up and then

I will test you to see if you are worth heaven after 5-years." Would this be

enough (five years to get ready)? Only God knows.

God knows all things and He knows how much time (each one of us needs to

"get ready"). He gives us each (enough time). We all have exactly enough

time for our testing -- He loves us that way.

Hello To All!

Gloria/LovesTo Paint - both your posts speak volumes and truth.

On this day, a very solemn memory will exist for America. We have always and continue to prove we are blessed, strong, resilient, and generous. I give thanks for this nation and all her citizens, troops, allies, freedoms, liberties, and privileges. Be at peace, know you are loved.

Re: Daily Positive Thread for Thursday

What a lovely pic of Mother Teresa. I took her name at conformation. Because she was not then a Saint, the Priest let me take it but did not say anything about Mother. That's ok, God knows I took her name.

I had my colonoscopy today and all is well, but I will NEVER drink that awful drink again. A gallon! It made me sick. He removed the large lesion and I return in December for a follow up. Thanks be to God for this blessing....

Everyone have a good evening. I'm going to bed. It's been a long day and I got no sleep last night. Love to all.

Harlene - I will never forget this date either!! And it was the birthday of my dear niece who died just before that - Mary Ellen, who died of breast cancer at the age of 45. How I still miss her!!!

Love Roses - praying for you to have a successful surgery tomorrow and fast recovery.

Cakers - how true! We all must keep the Faith!! Everything will work out, God is Great and He is in control.

Lucy - nice quote by Billy Graham.

Bobbiesue - I'm so glad to hear that it's all over now and all is well! Praise the Lord! A gallon of that stuff would make me sick too! Never had that done. Hope you don't need another one for your follow-up in Dec. Rest now and rest assured you are in God's Hands.
