Daily Positive Thread for Thursday

Hello my friends! Another restful day here for me! Was so tired, just had to take a nap! With the left-over food from Sunday, I made dishes and froze for more meals. It took awhile, but glad it's done now and in the freezer. One is a hot dish, another is a chicken dinner, have a pork roast dinner in the fridge. There were lots of potatoes and carrrots left over so they are in dishes now. I was going to blanch and freeze some cabbage today, didn't happen. Tomorrow's another day! Cakers, the Kale shake, I just put some kale and collards in the shake I'm making - it's not all kale. Here's wishing you all answers to all your prayers!

When children speak, listen. They freely share the joys of life that we
are often too preoccupied to remember. Lord, help me bring back those
qualities that I had as a child that would allow me to be more lighthearted,
more playful and more determined to live happy.

S C R I P T U R E F O R T H E D A Y

Draw near to God, and he will draw near to you. James 4:8

M E D I T A T I O N F O R T H E D A Y

The grace of God can cure disharmony and disorder in human
relationships. We can directly put our affairs, with their confusion
and their difficulties into God's hands. God can begin to effect a
cure of
all the disharmony and disorder. We can believe that God will cause
us no more pain in the doing of it than a physician, who plans and
knows that he can effect a cure, would cause his patient. We can have
faith that God will do all that is necessary as painlessly as
possible. We can become willing to submit to God's treatment, even if
we cannot now see the meaning purpose of it.

P R A Y E R F O R T H E D A Y

I pray that I may willingly submit to whatever spiritual discipline is
necessary. I pray that I may accept whatever it takes to live a
better life.

Twelve Biblical Reasons For Wanting To Spend One Hour With Jesus
In The Blessed Sacrament

1. He is really there!
"I myself Am the Living Bread come down from Heaven." (Jn 6:35)

2. Day and night Jesus dwells in the Blessed Sacrament because of his
Infinite love for you!
"Behold I will be with you always even to the end of the world," because "I
have loved you with an everlasting love, and constant is My affection for
you." (Mt 28:20; Jer 31:3)

3. The specific way that Jesus asks you to love Him in return is to spend
one quiet hour with Him in the Blessed Sacrament.
"Where your treasure is, there is your heart...." "Could you not watch one
hour with Me?" (Mt 6:21; 26:40)

4. When you look upon the Sacred Host, you look upon Jesus, the Son of God.
"Indeed, this is the will of My Father, that everyone who looks upon the Son
and believes in Him shall have eternal life. Him I will raise up on the last
day." (Jn 6:40)

5. Each moment that you spend in His Eucharistic Presence will increase His
Divine Life within you and deepen your personal relationship and friendship
with Him.
"I have come that you may have life, and have it more abundantly." "I am the
Vine and you are the branches. Whoever remains in Me and I in Him shall bear
much fruit because without Me, you can do nothing." (Jn 15:5)

6. Each hour you spend with Jesus will deepen His Divine Peace in your
heart.
"Come to Me all of you who are weary and find life burdensome and I will
refresh you..." "Cast all of you anxieties upon the One who cares for
you..." "My Peace is My Gift to you." (Mt 11:28; 5:7; Jn 14:17)

7. Jesus will give you all the Graces you need to be happy!
"The Lamb on the Throne will shepherd them. He will lead them to the springs
of life-giving water." (Rev 7:17)

8. Jesus is infinitely deserving of our unceasing thanksgiving and adoration
for all He has done for our salvation.
"Worthy is the Lamb that was slain to receive honor, glory and praise."
(Rev. 5:12)

9. For Peace in our country!
"When My people humble themselves and seek My Presence... I will revive
their land." (2Chr 7:14)

10. Each hour you spend with Jesus on earth will leave your soul
everlastingly more beautiful and glorious in heaven!
"They who humble themselves shall be exalted...." "All of us, gazing on the
Lord’s glory with unveiled faces, are being transformed from glory to glory
into His very image." (Lk 18:14; 2Cor 3:18)

11. Jesus will bless you, your family and the whole world for this hour of
faith you spend with Him in the Blessed Sacrament.
"Blessed are they who do not see and yet believe..." "Faith can move
mountains..." " What is needed is trust... " "Behold I come to make all
things new." (Jn 20:29; Mk 11:23; Mk 5:36; Rev 21:5)

12. Each moment you spend with Jesus in the Blessed Sacrament brings joy,
pleasure, and delight to His Sacred Heart!
"My joy, My pleasure, My delight is to be with you." (Prov 8:31)

Christ is Someone to know and trust:

Someone who is very near
Someone who has authority to help us
Someone who can forgive us
Someone who can declare us righteous
Someone who can set us apart for God
Someone who can bring God to us
Someone who can bring us to God
Someone who can include us in His will
Someone who can guide us
Someone who can teach us
Someone who can be our example
Someone who never leaves us all alone
Someone who can be trusted
Someone who can defend us
Someone who can intercede for us
Someone who can enable us
Someone who can respond to our emotions
Someone who can feel our pain
Someone who can give us joy
Someone who can give us peace
Someone who can give us hope
Someone who can give us love
Someone who has proven His love for us
Someone who has died for us
Someone who rose from the dead for us
Someone who can live His life through us
Someone who can take us all the way Home
Someone who can assure us of heaven

MAN'S DESIRES
Author Unknown

A young man is getting ready to graduate from college. For many months
he had admired a beautiful sports car is a dealer's showroom, and
knowing that his father could well afford it, he told him that was all
he wanted.

As Graduation Day approached, the young awaited signs that his father
had purchased the car. Finally, on the morning of his graduation, his
father called him into his private study. His father told him how
proud he was to have such a fine son, and told him how much he loved
him. He handed his son a beautifully wrapped box. Curious and somewhat
disappointed, the young man opened the box and found a lovely, leather-
bound Bible, with the youngman's name embossed in gold. Angry, he rose
his voice to his father and said "with all your money, you
give me a Bible? And stormed out of the house."

Many years passed and the young man was very successful in business.
He had a beautiful home and wonderful family, but realized that his
father was very old, and thought perhaps he should go to him. He had
not seen him since that graduation day.

Before he could make arrangements, he received a telegram telling him
his father had passed away, and willed all of his possessions to his
son. He needed to come home right away and take care of things. When he
arrived at his father's house, sudden sadness and regret filled his
heart.

He began to search through his father's important papers and saw the
still gift-wrapped Bible, just as he had left it years ago. With
tears, he opened the Bible and began to turn the pages. His father
carefully underlined a verse, Matthew 7:11, "And if ye, being evil,
know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more shall your
Heavenly Father who is in Heaven, give to those who ask him?" As he
read those words, a car key dropped from the back of the Bible. It had
a tag with the dealer's name, the same dealer who had the sports car
he had desired. On the tag was the date of his graduation, and the
words PAID IN FULL.

How many times do we miss God's blessings because we can't see past
our own desires?

THE MOUNTAIN CLIMBER
Author Unknown

They tell the story of a mountain climber, who desperate to conquer
the Aconcagua, initiated his climb after years of preparation. But he
wanted the glory to himself, therefore, he went up alone. He started
climbing and it was becoming later, and later. He did not prepare for
camping but
decided to keep on going. Soon it got dark...

Night fell with heaviness at a very high altitude. Visibility was
zero. Everything was black. There was no moon, and the stars were
covered by clouds. As he was climbing a ridge at about 100 meters from
the top, he slipped and fell. Falling rapidly he could only see
blotches of darkness
that passed. He felt a terrible sensation of being sucked in by
gravity.

He kept falling....and in those anguishing moments good and bad
memories passed through his mind. He thought certainly he would die.
But then he felt a jolt that almost tore him in half. Yes!! Like any
good mountain climber he had staked himself with a long rope tied to
his waist.

In those moments of stillness, suspended in the air he had no other
choice but to shout, "HELP ME GOD", "HELP ME!"

All of a sudden he heard a deep voice from heaven..."What do you want
me to do?"

"SAVE ME"

"Do you REALLY think that I can save you?"

"OF COURSE, MY GOD"

"Then cut the rope that is holding you up."

There was another moment of silence and stillness. The man just held
tighter to the rope.

The rescue team says that the next day they found, a frozen mountain
climber hanging strongly to a rope... TWO FEET OFF THE GROUND.

How about you? How trusting are you in that rope? Why don't you let it
go? I tell you, God has great and marvelous thing for you.

CUT THE ROPE AND SIMPLY TRUST IN HIM...

Appreciate What You Have

Today upon a bus, I saw a lovely maid with
golden hair. I envied her - she seemed so
gay - and wished I were as fair. When
suddenly she arose to leave, I saw the
cruel braces as she hobbled down the aisle;
a victim of polio was she. But as she passed
-- a smile!
Oh, God, forgive me when I whine.
I have two straight feet. The world is mine!

And then I stopped to buy some sweets.
The lad who sold them had such charm.
I talked with him. He said to me, "It's nice
to talk with folks like you. You see," he said,
"I'm blind." Oh, God, forgive me when I whine.
I have two eyes. The world is mine!

Then walking down the street,
I saw a child with eyes of blue.
He stood and watched the others play.
It seemed he knew not what to do.
I stopped a moment, then I said,
"Why don't you join the others, dear?"
He looked ahead without a word
and then I knew.... He could not hear.
Oh, God, forgive me when I whine.
I have two ears. The world is mine!

With feet to take me where I'd go,
with eyes to see the sunset's glow;
with ears to hear what I would know --
Oh, God, forgive me when I whine.
I'm blessed indeed. The world is mine!

NO TIME
Author Unknown

I knelt to pray but not for long,
I had too much to do.
I had to hurry and get to work
For bills would soon be due.

So I knelt and said a hurried prayer,
And jumped up off my knees.
My Christian duty was now done
My soul could rest at ease.

All day long I had no time
To spread a word of cheer.
No time to speak of Christ to friends,
They'd laugh at me I'd fear.

No time, no time, too much to do,
That was my constant cry,
No time to give to souls in need
But at last the time to die.

I went before the Lord,
I came, I stood with downcast eyes.
For in His hands God held a book;
It was the Book of Life.

God looked into his book and said
"Your name I cannot find.
I once was going to write it down . . .
But never found the time"

Re: Daily Positive Thread for Thursday

Hello friends. Many blessings to you.

Please pray for America. I believe this country is in dire trouble unless people turn back to God. We need a revival!

Gloria, send me the names of people who need prayed for and I will pray for them. I think God wants me to pray for people.

It was forecasted in the Farmer's Almanac that we are going to have another very cold and snowy winter. Let's hope they are wrong. My gas bill went up about $30.00 a month. Did anyone else have an increase? Those who live in cold climates?

Have a good day.....

Hello to All!

Gloria, you have my award for talent. Preparing and putting up your veggies and meals for the future. Now, that's being wise.

Went to my surgeon yesterday for a pre-op run through. All is well and we are ready to go for the 12th. That is my blessing. I rest quite a bit lately as I am advised to do so. Not hard to do but I have yearnings to do other things.

BobbiSue - Don't know what will really transpire re the weather. This country is strong and resilient but I think we could use some help at this time. You may have rain/snow, we have extensive drought conditions. I feel we all must turn to our God/Creator to bring about some changes for the better for all of us. I feel we must remember our true source and not be so distracted by so many other artificial and commercial things. Our water and cooling bill was outrageous - things won't change much in that area until we have some deluges.

I am grateful for this nation and to be living in the here and now. I give thanks daily for her strength, resilience, generosity, compassion. We have outstanding troops and allies, wonderful privileges, liberties, and rights. We bless so many others with our existence. Be at peace. Know you are loved. Seek the maker of all good, kind, wonderful, and loving things.

Re: Daily Positive Thread for Thursday

Good morning everyone,

First I would like to thank Lucy, for posting and asking prayers for my co-worker, Wanda. Thank you Lucy! Secondly, thank you all for praying for her. She went back to work this past Monday, and the doctors, are impressed how well she is doing. She was in a deadly situation. Thank you Lord for Your miraculous work, and for all who prayed for her. Lord, I ask that you bless each one who prayed and help them with their own special need. In Jesus' name Amen.

Gloriajean, thank you for all of the pictures that you have sent me. I sure did like the one of you and your sisters. It's so nice to be able to place a face with people, like Ann and Ray. Linus' is a handsome man, and your two daughters, are quite beautiful. Again thank you! I sure hope your legs are feeling better, and no headaches.

Bobbisue, I agree we must pray for America, and Israel. Our whole world needs prayers. Every now and then I watch PBS World News, and it's just amazing of all the things going on in so many different countries...things we don't hear of...it can be sad and maybe frightening, especially for those who don't know Jesus as their Savior.

As for another cold winter...I only can pray and hope not. Last year was brutal for everyone, even for those of us who live in the South. My Hickory trees, have been dropping their nuts now for the last month, and it usually tells me that this is a sign of another cold winter.

Harlene, Cakers, Shosh, Felicia, Lucy, Shorelady, Love Roses, and Go2girl, always good to hear from you. All the new posters, "welcome!"

My blessings, family, friends, water, and the power that comes into our home. Keeping all in my prayers. Until next time...

Take Care and God Bless!

Re: Daily Positive Thread for Thursday

Harlene - I would love it if you were closer and could help us eat that food!!! It'll save us on grocery bills for a while.

Bobbiesue - You are on my Glory of God Prayer Line - a great Ministry! Pray for all those who need prayers on all prayer lines - and GOD BLESS YOU! Praying for our country daily is a good thing - I agree our country needs lots and lots of prayers!! You're welcome to post prayers for America on the Glory of God prayer line and I'll send it out for all to pray. I'm praying for a mild winter already in spite of what is predicted because only God is in charge.

Love Roses - it is a good thing we can freeze food etc. so it doesn't go to waste. Not a bit will go to waste! Last night yet we froze our cabbage so that's in the freezer now too. Froze it in smaller bags - just enough for a meal. Praying for your surgery that all will go well and may you have a speedy recovery!

Juanita - Good news about your friend, Wanda! Praise the Lord! Our God is a God of Wonders and Miracles! Glad you liked the pictures! It is nice to put a face with the emails. I agree. Haven't had a headache now for days but my legs need more rest it seems. For two nights they left me alone from cramps at night, yet, this morning I got another one, not major though. Have to say those essential oils do help those tired old legs from cramping, I didn't use any the last two nights.

Lucy - I read that something good did happen to us today - Lori invited us over for soup - delicious soup! And we played cards today - started with our card club for the fall.

Cakers - that's the key to everything - have Faith!! Be strong in Christ!

Blessings and Hugs to you all!
