Greetings to all you Grateful Gals and Positive Pals! Hope your day went well. Today we had Shirley, our classmate, here for lunch, had a very nice visit - all three of us went to high school together - Shirley and I all 12 years. Lori was here for supper - and she invited us for ribs for Friday night with Angie so she can show Angie her house and all the changes. The week is going fast - we just go day by day and that's going great! Lots of blessings each day - ordinary ones, but they are all great!!! We thank our God!!!
Should you find your energy lapsing, a sure remedy is to give someone a
helping hand
or a word of support and make their day. Lord, You are patient with me and
loving. May
I be the same with the people in my life.
Scripture for the day:
"A lawyer, asked Jesus a question to test him. 'Teacher, which
commandment in the law is the greatest?' He said to him, 'You shall love
the Lord your God with all your heart, and with all your soul, and with
all your mind.' This is the greatest and first commandment. And a
second is like it: 'You shall love your neighbor as yourself.' On these
two commandments hang all the law and the prophets." ~Matthew 22:35-40
Meditation for the day:
God has a plan for the world we live in. God's design for the world is
a universal fellowship of men and women, guided by God. The plan for
our lives is also in the mind of God. In times of quiet meditation we
can seek God's guidance, for the revealing of God's plan for our day.
Then we can live this day according to God's guidance. Many of us are
not making of our lives what God means them to be, and so we are
unhappy. We can miss the God's plan for our lives.
Prayer for the day:
I pray that I may try to follow God's design for today. I pray that I
may live my life today consistent with God's plan.
Mother Teresa Said...
"To join the congregation we need few things.
We need health of mind and body.
We need the ability to learn.
We need plenty of common sense
and a cheerful disposition.
I think common sense and cheerfulness
are very necessary for a wok like this."
KNOWN ONLY TO HIM
By Sally I. Kennedy
My soul finds rest in God alone...my hope comes from him. He alone is
my rock and my salvation; he is my fortress, I will not be shaken…he
is my refuge. Psalm 62:1-7
We were visiting from out of town, and arrived a little before the
service started at a church downtown. We slid into seats on the side
up near the altar. It felt so peaceful, and we were thanful for a
place to worship, hear the Word of God and be with other believers.
Near us, I saw an older man come in and sit by himself. He was dresse;
his body looked thin and fragile, yet strong. I couldn't see his face
until passing him later. It was then I noticed the sadness
in his eyes. His whole demeanor actually seemed sort of limp with,
perhaps grieving.
My heart went out to him; I breathed a little prayer. I don't know him
and probably never will. But I know someone who does.God alone knows
our deepest thoughts. He alone knows our heart of hearts. In reality,
we are known only to Him.
In 1952, Carl Stuart Hamblen wrote the words and music to the gospel
song:
Known only to him are the great hidden secrets
I'll fear not the darkness when my flame shall dim
I know not what the future holds
But I know who holds the future
It's a secret known only to Him
In this world of fear and doubt
On my knees I ask the question
Why a lonely, heavy cross I must bear
Then he tells me in my prayer
It's because I am trustworthy
He gives me strength far more than my share
Known only to him are the great hidden secrets
I'll fear not the darkness when my flame shall dim
I know not what the future holds
But I know who holds the future
It's a secret known only to Him
How wonderful this same God is loving, kind, merciful, and comforting
towards us.
Wings of Prayer
Just close your eyes and open your heart
and feel your worries and cares depart,
Just yield yourself to the Father above
and let Him hold you secure in His love-
For life on earth grows more involved
with endless problems that can't be solved.
But God only asks us to do our best,
Than He will "take over" and finish the rest-
So when you are tired, discouraged and blue,
there's always one door that is open to you,
and that is the door to "The House of Prayer"
and you'll find God waiting to meet you there-
And "The House of Prayer" is no farther away
than the quiet spot where you kneel and pray.
For the heart is a temple when God is there
as we place ourselves in His loving care-
And He hears every prayer and answers each one
when we pray in His name "Thy will be done"-
And the burdens that seemed too heavy to bear
are lifted away on "The Wings of Prayer."
- Helen Steiner Rice
Even When . . .
Even when you have failed before, there is still every possibility of
success.
Even when one door is closed, another door will open.
Even when the situation appears to be hopeless, there is indeed hope.
Even when your options and your resources seem to be exhausted, there is
still something more you can do. Why is this so? Because the past does not
equal the future. Because you are endlessly adaptable, resourceful and
determined to go where you know you must go, to do what you know you must
do. Because in this moment, you can move beyond anything at all that may
have previously held you back.
Even when defeat appears certain, victory is well within reach.
Even when the night is at its darkest, dawn is already on the way.
Never give up, never give in, even when everything before has been a
disappointment or a disaster. Because everything ahead can be just as you
decide to make it.
-- Ralph Marston
Heavenly Father,
We Thank You for the constant gifts that you place before us.
May we be ever thankful for the gift of friendship,
For blessing us with people around us that we can call true friends.
For those that challenge us, and make us think beyond the square.
For those that listen to us, and share our concerns.
For those that laugh with us, and make our hearts burst with joy.
For those that teach us to be better people.
For these people we are ever grateful.
For we see the God in them... a true reflection of You.
Amen.

Gloria: The little blessings are the best and it's important to see them and rejoice in them. It isn't about the best house or the most money or the fanciest car.
Harlene: Hoping your foot will have relief soon!
{{{shorelady}}} I know very well the question of why, believe me. I watch a loved one struggle everyday.
"Another turning point a fork stuck in the road - time grabs you by the wrist directs you where to go - so make the best of this test and don't ask why - it's not a question but a lesson learned in time" - from the group Green Day's "Time of Your Life".
And from Phillip Phllips song "Home" -
"Settle down, it'll all be clear
Don't pay no mind to the demons
They fill you with fear
The trouble it might drag you down
If you get lost, you can always be found
Just know you're not alone.............."
Sometimes I find the most comfort in music. We have no experience when these things happen and it's very hard to find the path to wholeness - we stumble and fall but we get back up. So you do the best you can, one day at a time, and always know this thread is a safe haven and a soft place to fall. Sending you much love and support as all the fine ladies here do.
I think bobbiesue's update is in the widow's thread.
Also thinking of Felicia and hope she will be well enough to pop in and say "Hello".
Have a peaceful day, everyone. Sorry for the long post.

Hello everyone,
"Be strong and of good courage; do not be afraid, nor be dismayed, for the LORD your God is with you wherever you go." Joshua 1:9 (NKJV)
Even though I have not been able to post, I have been reading, and keeping all of you in my prayers.
Gloriajean, recently on one of your post, you said you got some floor cleaner for laminate floors, I was wondering what did you purchase, and how did it work out for you? It makes me smile that you got to spend so much time with Darla, Lori, and all of your friends, and other family members. That sure is a blessing.
Harlene, so sorry for your loss. I understand how you must of felt. We lost Skeeter in March, and it is heartbreaking. I am glad you got yourself another puppy. For us it's not feasible. So we just continue to care for the stray cats around here.
Cakers, and Shosh, you both always have such kind and wise words for everyone. Hope you both get to enjoy more and more time with the grandkids.
Go2girl, glad to hear that you enjoyed MN. Prayers continue for your grandbaby and you.
Lucy, I continue to to pray for your loved ones. Someday, just someday, I am going to meet you. Were really not far from each other...laughing maybe I should have that on my bucket list. Lol!
Bobbisue, Felicia, I continue to keep you both in my prayers for your health.
Shorelady, yes, sometimes it is real hard to keep our faith. But God understands this and His love is unconditional. Continue prayers for healing and comfort.
Keeping all of you in my prayers, sorry if I missed someone. Friends please remember if you draw near to God, you will hear from God. He speaks softly. Sit quietly in His Presence, letting His thoughts immerse us as we take refuge underneath His everlasting arms.
Getting ready to go to work in a couple of hours. This job sure is a blessing, along with my home, suv, water, power, and the list just goes on and on....
Unitl next time...
Take Care and God Bless!

Cakers - don't ever be sorry for a long post!! I love those! Then I'm not the only one - and your posts are so helpful to others. Thanks much for your sharing, and music does a lot for people, I know. Good you mentioned that.
Juanita - so good to see you again!! It's been awhile - good you have been reading and best of all keeping us in your prayers! The floor cleaner is called HDX Wood Floor Cleaner (safe on wood laminate, baseboards and cabinets. I've only used it twice but it's good and I like it. Comes in a 32 oz. spray. Linus got it at Home Depot. Thanks for your post!
