Hello my friends! Wow! Just as I was answering you on the last thread, the electricity went out for over an hour!! Everything I wrote is gone, so I had to start over and I was almost finished. Our blessings today - Linus had a good day at work today, sold some appliances, for a whole house - that he loved, plus some more. We went to our Church tonight because we wanted to hear our priest's homily on the Gifts of the Holy Spirit etc. continuation of last week, and next Sunday is Pentecost Sunday. Tomorrow morning is Father Jerry's 50th Golden Jubilee at St. Mary's Cathedral here in town. We are going to it, and the reception will be after the Mass. They plan on it being outside, so hope the weather co-operates. Tonight - spur of the moment - we decided on going to the Cafe for supper - our Favorite restaurant, and I told Jim that about Father Jerry's Jubilee tomorrow and that our Gift for him would be to take him there to his Cafe Rennaissance for a meal - he said he'll give us a 10% discount. Father Jerry also has another celebration in our hometown on the 22nd where my sisters plan on coming for - and we will again. We came from the same town. Another blessing was a nice phone call from Darla - she is planning on coming a week earlier than Greg, and she will be driving all that way alone. She'll take some injections for her back, she says, praying still for her healing. Then Greg comes when he can have his week's vacation, and he flies in, then they drive back together. Remember this is 1600 hours! Please help us pray for her safety again as she travels alone.
We have every reason to be at peace because God will either protect us from
suffering or give us immense strength to see us through it. Lord, I set
aside my anxieties because You care for me every day in every way.
Scripture for the day:
Jesus said to them, "Come away to a deserted place all by yourselves and
rest a while." ~Mark 6:31
Meditation for the day:
God can work through us better when we are not hurrying. We can go very
slowly, very quietly, from one duty to the next, taking time to rest and
pray between. We need not be too busy. We can take everything in order. We
can venture often into the rest of God and we can find peace. All work that
results from resting with God is good work. We can claim the power to work
miracles in human lives. We can do many things with God's help. We can do
good things through God who rests us and gives us strength. We can partake
regularly of rest and prayer.
Prayer for the day:
I pray that I may not be in too much of a hurry. I pray that I may take
time out often to rest with God.
PHYSICAL HEALING PRAYER
" Jesus, you are the wounded healer, heal our friends through your wounds.
You are the God, the Ultimate, who alone can heal them. You are our Divine
medicine. O! Lord! Just say one word, and they shall be healed. Jesus,
forgive all our sins and iniquities through your bloodshed. Have mercy on
all our ancestors. O! Jesus! Send your Holy Spirit upon us all and liberate
us from all bondage. Jesus, our only Savior, deliver us from all our sins
and sickness. Mother Mary, mother of good health, we cry out to you for your
prayers for the mercy of your Son to heal these people right now! Thank you
Mother Mary, Thank you Jesus, Thank you Abba Father, and Thank you Holy
Spirit. Hallelujah! Hallelujah! Hallelujah!"
We come to you, St. Joseph, for employment for the right jobs for Dennis and
Linus.
May these interviews be successful and grant them their hearts desires, all
according to God's Holy Will.
Make Your Day Bright
By Thinking Right
Don't start your day by supposing
that trouble is just ahead,
It's better to stop supposing
and start with a prayer instead,
And make it a prayer of thanksgiving
for the wonderful things God has wrought,
Like the beautiful sunrise and sunset--
God's gifts that are free and not bought...
For supposing the worst things will happen
only helps to make them come true
And you darken the bright, happy moments
that the dear Lord has given to you...
So if you desire to be happy
and get rid of the misery of dread,
Just give up supposing the worst things
and look for the best things instead.

When can I start?
Time is of the essence, (See Hebrews 3:15).
"Does God Cry?"
A little girl once asked, "Mommy does God cry?"
"Don't be silly, God can't cry baby," her mother replied.
"But what about when He looks down from Heaven above
And sees all the people who needs His love?
And what about when He looks down and sees
The playground kids fall and scrape their knees?
Or how about Aunt Jane who can't have baby girls or boys?
Or what about the poor kids who gets no Christmas toys?
Maybe God would cry if He lived with my friend Tommy.
Whose daddy beats and bruises him and his mommy.
Or maybe if He looked down and saw people being killed,
I think He'd surely have eyes that are tear filled.
But I think most of all, mommy, what would have made God cry,
Is when He looked down at the cross and watched His baby die."
The mother stood in silence as her eyes filled with tears,
For she knew her little girl was wise beyond her years.
Staring into deep blue eyes, the mother found courage to say,
"Yes baby girl, I think God looks down and cries every day."
God Bless you and keep you safe in Jesus' arms!
Meditations by Padre Pio
Always be faithful to God in observing the promises you made Him, and pay no
attention to the mocking of the foolish. Know that the Saints were always
mocked by the world and the worldly, but even so they placed the world and
its maxims under their feet.
Sayings of Mother Teresa
We depend solely on Divine Providence.
We don't accept government grants,
we don't accept church donations,
we don't accept salaries.
We have consecrated our lives to the poorest of the poor,
giving whole-hearted and free service,
the joy of being loved.
People are longing to be loved,
and we have the tenderness,
the love of God, that continually dares.

{{{shorelady}}} I don't know if you will see this right now but I am so very sorry to read your news on yesterday's thread.

shorelady
terribly sorry that things have gone this way.
if it is ok to say- expecting that someone at the hospital will be speaking to you about what extra help may be available for your family at this time, including hospice. sometimes they are really good at informing you, other times you have to push to get what you are entitled to.
in case you need other info: if you copy/paste this link below, it will take you to a site that gives very thorough info about hospice and palliative care.
the blue box on the left of the page lists the info categories, and you can get a list of hospice services in your county in nj, as well as medicare/insurance coverage info. it gives very good descriptions of what hospice really is and who may qualify. it's really a good resource for anyone, i have it bookmarked.
palliative care has come a long way, am hoping that your family will be helped to make the best of this most difficult time. as you can see, your online friends are with you in spirit.
