Daily Positive Thread for Sunday

Most often a gentle approach is the best resolution to a conflict.
Lord, I have been given today to improve myself and make life
better for others. Help me walk in the way that You lead me.

Scripture for the day:

"For we are God's servants, working together; you are God's field,
God's building." ~1 Corinthians 3:9

Meditation for the day:

We are God's servants. We can serve God cheerfully and readily.
Nobody likes a servant who avoids extra work, who complains about
being called from one task to do one less enjoyable. A master would
feel that he was being ill served by such a servant. But is that not
how we so often serve God? We can view our day's work in this light.
We can try to do our day's work the way we believe God wants us to do
it, never shirking any responsibility and often going out of our way
to be of service.

Prayer for the day:

I pray that I may be a good servant. I pray that I may be willing to
go out of my way to be of service.

Greetings my friends! Hope your Saturday was a good day for you - and not too hot. It was hot here, and I was outside quite a bit as we were at Lori's - Linus was very busy again with Lori landscaping, the more they do, the more ideas they have to do more!! Talk about a pretty yard! So many pretty plants given to her by clients, friends and even her new neighbors! We've met about 3 or 4 of her new neighbors already. Remember that house next door to her for sale? Now we can see it sometime, the owner gave Lori the key - and any plants she wants, and $20.00 for cutting his lawn, the house is going to foreclosure. It's a shame he's losing his house. He got a job in Mpls. so moved there and everything is out of the house now. Had renters, and they are out now too. Neighbor lady said it's beautiful so I want to see it.
Blessings today - didn't have to cook at all - Lori picked me up and we had a picnic lunch there, and just being with her and Linus is always a blessing.
Had a nice visit with my sister, Deil, on the phone, she is such a sweetheart! At 88 busy with her lawn today. She's gives Communion to the people who cannot get to Church. Drives all over. Her husband served in WW2 and she drove to the Fort Snelling Cemetery in Mpls. where her husband, and our parents are, Erma's husband, too, and decorated the graves last weekend.

Truths For Living

The more generous we are,
the more joyous we become.

The more cooperative we are,
the more valuable we become.

The more enthusiastic we are,
the more productive we become.

The more serving we are,
the more prosperous we become.

The more outgoing we are,
the more helpful we become.

The more curious we are,
the more creative we become.

The more patient we are,
the more understanding we become.

The more persistent we are,
the more successful we become.

The Ministry of Kindness

Kindness is one of God's best gifts to the world.
It drives gloom and darkness from souls.
It puts hope into fainting hearts
It sweetens sorrow. It lessens pain
It discovers unsuspected beauties of human character.
It calls forth a response from all that is best in souls.
It purifies, glorifies, ennobles all that it touches.
It opens the flood-gates of children's laughter.
It gathers the tears of repentant love.
It lightens the burden of weariness.
It stops the torrent of angry passion.
It takes the sting from failure.
It enkindles courageous ambition.
It lifts the unfortunate.
It leads back the wayward.
It walks in the steps of Our Saviour.

1. I believe that if anything is worth doing, it would have been done already.

2. I shall never move quickly, except to avoid more work or find excuses.

3. I will never rush into a job without a lifetime of consideration.

4. I shall meet all of my deadlines directly in proportion to the amount of bodily injury
I could expect to receive from missing them.

5. I firmly believe that tomorrow holds the possibility for new technologies, astounding discoveries,
and a reprieve from my obligations.

6. I truly believe that all deadlines are unreasonable regardless of the amount of time given.7. I shall never forget that the probability of a miracle, though infinitely small, is not exactly zero.

8. If at first I don’t succeed, there is always next year.

9. I shall always decide not to decide, unless of courses I decide to change my mind.

10. I shall always begin, start, initiate, take the first step, and/or write the first word,
when I get around to it

11. I obey the law of inverse excuses which demands that the greater
the task to be done, the more insignificant the work that must be done prior to beginning
the greater task.

12. I know that the work cycle is not plan/start/finish, but wait/plan/plan.

Food for Thought
Let us then approach the throne of grace with confidence... Hebrews
4:16

Waltz In

I was praying, simple conversation with God, and found myself asking
for something. Again.
I thought, “I am constantly making requests! Wouldn’t you think the
Lord would get sick of that? I just waltz in, any time of the day or
night I feel like it, and pray. I thank Him and praise Him; often do
ask for something and assume He is listening."

Many years ago, as a mom of young children, I would try to stop and
listen to my kids when they would come to me to ask, or tell, me
something. I usually did, but not always. Our Father God made us for
fellowship with Him. And yes, He is thrilled and delighted for us to
come to Him, with requests, conversation, thanks, or just come to
enjoy His presence.

Among the thousands of promises in the Bible are those which declare
God hears us, and answers. A few are: Jeremiah 33:3
Call to me and I
will answer you Psalm 17:6
I call to you, God, and you answer me.
Listen to me now, and hear what I say. Psalm 6:9
The Lord has heard
my cry for help; the Lord will answer my prayer. Psalm 91:15
They
will call to me, and I will answer them.

There’s never a time the Lord won’t stop and give us His full
attention. In fact, He is just waiting for us to 'waltz in'.
That's good news.

Thank-You God for being my Comforter,
When my soul was weak
and the tears wouldn't stop,
When my heart was aching with pain
and I was searching for refuge,
When my spirit was broken beyond repair
and I felt lost and hopeless,
Thank-You for Joy.
Thank-You God for being my Teacher,
When I was ignorant to the Lessons of Life
and rebuked wisdom,
When I was rebellious against your principles
and rejected morality,
When I was hindered by obstacles
and blinded by self-doubt,
Thank-You for Knowledge.
Thank-You God for being my Spiritual Guide,
When I chose the wrong path to tread
and lost sight of my purpose,
When I didn't know the power of faith, prayer,
and forgiveness,
When I didn't know how to surrender all my
anger, fears, and temptations,
Thank-You for your Guidance.
Thank-You God for being my Counselor,
When I didn't know how to acknowledge nor
express my feelings,
When I chose Sin over Self-Love,
Thank-You for Revelations, Awakenings, & Resolutions.
