Hello my friends! Peace of the Lord be yours! Today got some cleaning done while he worked his 7 hour shift. He did fine, but he feet hurt - he was on them pretty much of the time! He sold some appliances today and that made him happy to make the sale! My sister, Erma, called today - the one with Parkinson's, she fell again, and got a gash in her head, and broke her right wrist. Her daughter was with her when she called. Please would you be so kind to help us pray for her healing? She will be 89 on the 10th of this month. My husband seems better today with the holistic medicine - praise the Lord! Hope his days continue to be better. Thanks much for your prayers!!! Counting my blessings daily and being so grateful for all God's gifts - we are so thankful for all He does for us!
Don't worry about tomorrow because God is already taking care
of it. Lord, help me set aside needless worry and anxiety so that
I have time to do all that I need to do today.
Scripture for the day:
"My vows to you I must perform, O God; I will render thank offerings
to you. For you have delivered my soul from death, and my feet from
falling, so that I may walk before God in the light of life." ~Psalm
56:12
Meditation for the day:
I can say thank you to God for everything, even the seeming trials and
worries. I can strive to be grateful and humble. My whole attitude
toward God can be one of gratitude. I can be glad for the things I
have received. I can pass on what God reveals to me. I believe that
more truths can flow in, as I go along in this new way of life.
Prayer for the day:
I pray that I may be grateful for the things I have received and do
not deserve. I pray that this gratitude will make me truly humble.
EIGHT THINGS ABOUT FAILURE
1. TO FAIL IS NOT THE SAME AS BEING A FAILURE. One may have many failings
and yet still be far from being a failure.
2. TO FAIL IS NOT THE DISGRACE EVERYONE THINKS IT IS. To err is to do
nothing more than to join the human race.
3. FAILURE IS ONLY A TEMPORARY SETBACK. Failure is never the final chapter
of the book of your life unless you give up and quit.
4. NOTHING WORTHWHILE IS EVER ACHIEVED WITHOUT RUNNING THE RISK OF FAILURE.
The man who risks everything to try to achieve something truly worthwhile
and fails is anything but a disgraceful failure.
5. FAILURE IS A NATURAL PREPARATION FOR, SUCCESS. Strange as it may seem to
some of you, success is much more difficult to live with successfully than
is failure.
6. EVERY FAILING BRINGS WITH IT THE POSSIBILITIES OF SOMETHING GREATER.
Analyze failure under whatever circumstances you choose, and you will
discover some seeds for turning failure into success,
7. WHAT YOU DO WITH FAILURES IN YOUR LIFE IS UP TO YOU. Failure is either a
blessing or a curse, depending upon the individuals reaction or response to
it.
8. FAILINGS ARE OPPORTUNITIES TO LEARN HOW TO DO THINGS BETTER THE NEXT
TIME-TO LEARN WHERE THE PITFALLS ARE AND HOW TO AVOID THEM. The best
possible thing to do with failure is to learn all you can from it.
PRACTICING
I once heard a psychologist speak to a group of parents who were frustrated
by their teenaged children's undesirable behaviours. The psychologist
explained, "Your adolescents are practicing to be adults, and they aren't
very good at it yet."
Those words stayed with me. Not only did they enable me to be more patient
with my son through his teenage years, but also I draw on them today in
relation to my own maturing in Christ. I am practicing to be a good
Christian, but I often demonstrate that I'm not very good at it yet.
Fortunately, God is more patient with me than I was able to be as a parent.
Now when I do fail, I ask my loved ones to be patient with me. Just as
teenagers usually grow up to be responsible adults, I am hoping -- with
God's help -- to become a more mature Christian.
Prayer: Dear Lord, forgive us when we fall short of your expectations for
us. Help us to become the people you want us to be. Amen.

THE QUILT
As I faced my Maker at the last judgment, I knelt before the Lord along with
all the other souls. Before each of us laid our lives like the squares of a
quilt in many piles.
An Angel sat before each of us sewing our quilt squares together into a
tapestry that is our life. But as my angel took each piece of cloth off the
pile, I noticed how ragged and empty each of my squares was. They were
filled with giant holes. Each square was labeled with a part of my life that
had been difficult, the challenges and temptations I was faced with in
everyday life. I saw hardships that I endured, which were the largest holes
of all.
I glanced around me. Nobody else had such squares. Other than a tiny hole
here and there, the other tapestries were filled with rich color and the
bright hues of worldly fortune. I gazed upon my own life and was
disheartened. My angel was sewing the ragged pieces of cloth together,
threadbare and empty, like binding air.
Finally the time came when each life was to be displayed, held up to the
light, the scrutiny of truth. The others rose, each in turn, holding up
their tapestries. So filled their lives had been.
My angel looked upon me, and nodded for me to rise. My gaze dropped to the
ground in shame. I hadn't had all the earthly fortunes. I had love in my
life, and laughter. But there had also been trials of illness, and death,
and false accusations that took from me my world as I knew it.
I had to start over many times. I often struggled with the temptation to
quit, only to somehow muster the strength to pick up and begin again. I
spent many nights on my knees in prayer, asking for help and guidance in my
life. I had often been held up to ridicule, which I endured painfully, each
time offering it up to the Father in hopes that I would not melt within my
skin beneath the judgmental gaze of those who unfairly judged me. And now,
I had to face the truth. My life was what it was, and I had to accept it
for what it was.
I rose and slowly lifted the combined squares of my life to the light. An
awe-filled gasp filled the air.
I gazed around at the others who stared at me with wide eyes. Then, I
looked upon the tapestry before me. Light flooded the many holes, creating
an image, the face of Christ.
Then our Lord stood before me, with warmth and love in His eyes. He said,
"Every time you gave over your life to Me, it became My life, My hardships,
and My struggles. Each point of light in your life is when you stepped aside
and let Me shine through, until there was more of Me than there was of you.
My prayer is that all our quilts be threadbare and worn, allowing Christ to
shine through.

Hope For The Hopeless
When the night is upon you
And you're needing a friend
There's no hope for the future
And you're at your wit's end
The tears on your pillow
Won't ease the pain
You have nothing to lose
You have nothing to gain
You may think you're a failure
Life's not going your way
There's no hope for tomorrow
And there's doubts for today
If your search for the answers
Leaves questions to spare
Lay it all at the altar
You will find comfort there
Because there's hope for the hopeless
There's life for the lost
There's strength you can borrow
From that old rugged cross
There's a light in the darkness
That leads to the place
Where there's hope for the hopeless
In His saving grace

Lean On Me
As the road ahead seems rugged
And the path is getting steep,
I feel that I can't make it
So my heart begins to weep.
Then I turn to see who's coming
To join me on my way.
I see it is my Lord
And He slowly turns to say
"Lean on me.....
When you have no strength to stand.
When you feel you're going under,
Hold tighter to My hand.
Lean on me......
When your heart begins to bleed.
When you know I'm all you have,
Then you'll find I'm all you need."
Then when I felt that no one cared
If I lived or died,
And no one bothered asking why
I'd go alone to cry.
When the burden got so heavy
I could barely face the day,
I felt His arms around me
As I gently heard Him say
"Lean on me......
When you have no strength to stand.
When you feel you're going under,
Hold tighter to My hand.
Lean on me......
When your heart begins to bleed.
When you come to know I'm all you have,
Then you'll find I'm all you need."

Meditations by Padre Pio
Jesus and your soul must cultivate the vineyard together. It is for you to
pick up and carry away the stones, to pull out the thorn bushes. It is the
task of Jesus to sow, plant, cultivate, to water.
Mother Teresa Said...
Jesus, you have given everything, life, blood, all.
Now it is my turn.
I put everything into the field also.
The common soldier fights in the ordinary lines,
but the devoted one tries to be near the captain to share his fate.
This is the spirit of Christ.

Gloria, I will pray for Linus' feet to stop hurting. Glad he made some sales.
My arm is hurting less. Praise be to the Lord Jesus! A blessing indeed.
It is snowing here and we are going to get 8 inches they say. Will spring ever come? Pray for spring!
Blessings to all who post and read here.

Good afternoon!
It has been so long, or so it seems, that I've posted. My husband did well with his surgery, thank the Lord, so now he needs to heal. Thank you for your prayers, they were certainly answered.
Gloria, I'm sorry to hear about your sister's fall, I hope she will be ok. I must have missed about Linus getting another job so good news about that. I remember on his other job he was on his feet a lot, hopefully this job will not require too much standing or too often.
Bobbiesue, I don't know what problems you are having with your arm but I do hope that you feel better with each passing day. I wish I could send some of our weather in your direction, I believe that spring has sprung around here.
Our weather is just beautiful today, 75! I have the doors open! It is hard to believe that just a few hundred miles away that people are getting snow, sleet, ice...the whole shebang! Spring is here because the robins have arrived, the daffodils are blooming as are some trees and bushes. I just hope a cold snap doesn't come along and kill them. Hopefully the winter will go away and everyone can get warmer and rid of the cold.
Yesterday while doing errands I drove by an alpaca farm and they were out in the pasture. So doggone cute, I wanted to stop and go pet one! lol The lady that owns the farm uses their wool (fur) whatever it is called, to make socks, gloves, scarves and I've heard it is very warm and soft. I'll have to stop sometime when she is open and take a look. I'd love to pet one of them, too.
Well, it seems I have carried on so I will hush. I hope you enjoy the rest of your day and have a peaceful night.
Peace and blessings. I will catch you all later.

Bobbiesue - thanks for your prayers for LInus - much appreciated. I don't recall what happened with your arm, but glad it's better now! More snow for you, but just remember that spring is for sure coming, when? Who knows? But think positive as I have to!! Let's THINK SPRING!
Lucy - so good to see you back posting again, praise God for answered prayer for your husband's surgery! I'm sure Erma will be okay - it takes six weeks to heal a broken bone and it's her right wrist. She walks with a walker, too bad that didn't prevent her fall. I can just imagine your nice 75 degree weather there! A breath of fresh air! It'll come here someday. Yes, Linus got that appliance job he's wanted for so long. This is going to be his second week. Your sharing about that farm makes me want to google to see what those creatures look like! I never heard of them! Good Irish Blessing!! Thanks!
