Daily Positive Thread for Sunday

Hello my friends! Today was restful again for me - I spent quite a bit of time in bed again, took a shower when Lori said she's coming over for supper and making it, and so we had a wonderful taco salad. Instead of sour cream, we had my fage unsweetened yogurt and that with the home canned salsa and olives, avacado, tomato all made with ground turkey, not only was it healthy, but delicious! The Yogurt was great in it. Linus who doesn't care for yogurt loved it!! Hey - guess what? my phone died this afternoon. Yep! it just died, it kept on charging and wouldn't charge, and he took it in thinking the battery was dead, no, it's not the battery, they cleaned it, and thought it'll work now, no, it died instead. So tomorrow afternoon Lori is going with us and I'll get a new phone, this time a smart phone, she said I can get one free now. So I'll enjoy texting better then with that! She'll teach me everything I need to know on there!!! Looking forward to it. This old phone I have I only got last summer!!! Tonight Lori was over and after supper, would you believe - she brought over some recipes and we made some dog treats - healthy ones. And they love them! She found them on Pintrest. I'm so happy she still likes to do things with me. Did I mention last night that Darla has a phone interview with Metro State U in Mpls? Gosh! got my hopes up again for Mpls.

Nothing is ever quite as bad as it seems. Call on God and then practice

expectancy

and optimism and things will turn out better than you expect. Lord, thank

You for

tomorrow.

"Let the peace of Christ rule in your hearts, to which indeed you were

called in the one body. And be thankful." ~Colossians 3:15

M E D I T A T I O N F O R T H E D A Y

We can be at home and comfortable in the world. Yet some of us live

lives of quiet desperation. This is the opposite of being at home and

at peace in the world. We can let our peace of mind be evident to those

around us. We can let others see that we are comfortable, and seeing

it, know that it springs from our trust in God. The dull, hard way of

resignation is not God's way. Faith can take the sting out of the winds

of adversity and can bring peace even in the midst of struggle.

P R A Y E R F O R T H E D A Y

I pray that I may be more comfortable in my way of living. I pray that

I may feel more at home and at peace within myself.

Prayer For Relieving Stress And Anxiety

Lord, there has been too much change in my life recently, and I feel

overwhelmed. Because I try to be a responsible person, I sometimes forget

that it is unwise for me to allow my sense of duty to override my common

sense.

Lord, help me to allow myself more time to rest, relax, and pray. Guide me

toward something spiritual to read every day and a quiet time afterwards to

reflect on what I have read and how it pertains to my life. I truly want to

simplify my life and live more as Christ did. Help me remember that there

is no loss or problem I must face alone. You are always near, with Your

love and compassion to comfort me.

Think of others

Lord, help me live my life for Thee

to think of others instead of me

and help me give my very best

without regard for need of rest.

Until I've run the race you've set

and every righteous goal is met.

Then will I pause to give thee praise

for all the grace that blessed my days.

Then lovingly will I lay down.

a life of work, to thee a crown,

unworthy token though it be

to you who gave so much for me.

Watch, O Lord (St. Augustine)

Watch, O Lord, with those who wake, or watch, or weep tonight,

and give Your angels and saints charge over those who sleep.

Tend Your sick ones, O Lord Christ.

Rest Your weary ones.

Bless Your dying ones.

Soothe Your suffering ones.

Pity Your afflicted ones.

Shield Your joyous ones,

and all for Your love's sake. Amen.

Mother Teresa Said...

"The Missionaries of Charity is just a little instrument in the hands of

God.

We must try to keep it always like that -- the small instrument.

Very often I feel like a little pencil in God´s hand.

He does the writing, He does the thinking, He does the movement --

I have only to be a pencil and nothing else."

Personal Prayer

My Jesus, I accept you as my God, Redeemer, Teacher and Model. Help me to

see how I may imitate you more faithfully in my daily attitudes, words, and

behavior towards my brothers and sisters. Help me understand your Gospel.

Let me see more clearly the emotions which hinder me from drawing closer to

you. I wish to fight my childish fears and my immature behavior with the

wisdom of a true adult. Grant me a fuller knowledge of your teachings,

prudence to apply your truth to my daily living, wisdom to relish your

inspiring principles, and charity to keep me trying in spite of my human

failures. Let me love myself as you love me, and help me hate the

unreasoning anxieties and unreasonable fears that turn my mind and my heart

away from you. Amen.

God want us to be H.U.M.B.L.E.!

"H" is for the HUMILITY to acknowledge we are sinners in need of a Savior.

Jesus Christ is his name!

"U" is for UNITY. He wants us to be united as brothers and sisters in love.

He wants us to "bear with one another lovingly". (See EPH 4:1). We must

"bear with one another" because we are sinners with the strengths and

weaknesses that come with being human.

"M" is for MISSION. We must understand His mission for us as a Church

community and as individuals in the Body of Christ. We must continuously

seek God's will in our lives and then DO IT! ("When all is said and done,

more is said than done!")

"B" is for BOLDNESS. We must be bold in sharing God's love with others. We

must be willing to take the risk of being rejected. Rejection will happen to

us just as it happened to Jesus. We never know how the Holy Spirit may be

using us to plant seeds in another person's life even though we may

initially experience rejection. Be BOLD for Jesus!

"L" is for LOVE. Love God with all your heart, mind and soul and love your

neighbor as yourself. P.S. - Don't forget to love yourself. God made you in

His image!

"E" is for EVANGELIZE! It is the mission of the Church and everyone in it.

Tell the world and those around you that God loves them, that Jesus loves

them so much he died on the cross for them and that he sent the Holy Spirit

to purify us, to make us holy and to empower us to carry out his mission for

us with charisms!

Remember, God wants us to be H.U.M.B.L.E.

SPECIAL ACT OF SORROW

Forgive my sins, O Lord, forgive me all my sins,

the sins of my age, the sins of my spirit,

the sins of my body, my sins of omission,

my serious sins, the sins I remember,

the sins I have concealed so long that

they are now hidden from my memory.

Forgive me all my sins, O Lord.

I am sincerely sorry for them all.

I know my sins have wounded your

loving Heart, my Savior.

Through Your bitter suffering and death,

free me from the power of sin and

give me a new heart. O my Jesus,

forget what I have been. O my Lord,

Jesus, remember me in Your Kingdom. Amen.

Re: Daily Positive Thread for Sunday

Good morning Smile

Gloria, I'm sorry you haven't felt well, hope you perk up soon. The taco salad sounds mighty tasty and yes, it is nice having daughters that still like to do with their Mama's, I'm glad that mine does. I'll pray that Darla has a good interview, I know you'd like her to be closer to home. Good luck with the phone.

I've had so much going on lately I just haven't found time to post that often. My husband is feeling better. We went to the neuro-doc and he was given steroids, muscle relaxers and a powerful pain pill but he doesn't take it unless necessary, so far the steroids have helped tremendously. Had an MRI Friday so it will be next week before the results come in. Pray for a good report and no surgery is needed. Thanks.

Winter weather is being predicted yet again for our area in the next day or so. Not liking the sound of that. Yes...we are wimps down south when it comes to ice and snow. HA! We are not use to it and don't have the equipment to handle it. I'm praying it fizzles out.

My son is getting more hours at his 2 jobs so I am thankful for that. He has put in many resumes at numerous places and has a prospect for one that is opening soon. Hopefully his jobs will place him back to full time when the busy season picks up...which he was told is in March. Doesn't matter-bills still come in and rent has to be paid, part time or full time. Thanks for your prayers. I know the Lord has a plan for my son, just waiting.

Well, it seems I am making up for lost time. HA!!! Yacking away this morning. Yesterday was my youngest grandson's birthday, he turned 8. The oldest turned 12, 2 weeks ago. My, how time has flown. Seems like just the other day my children were that age.

I hope you all have a wonderful Sunday. God bless and keep you in his loving care. Let us be mindful of those less fortunate and all of our military. We have so much to be thankful for.

Re: Daily Positive Thread for Sunday

Good evening everyone,

Gloriajean, warm thoughts and prayers for you and your loved ones. Prayers that Darla's interview went real good, and that MPLS will be calling her back. We will think real big...Darla and Gregg will be packing and moving soon and may it be somewhere in MN.

Lucy, thank you for the updates on the weather. Today I finally had a chance to get outside and rake leaves and burn some. I have so many leaves...and never had a chance to keep up with them this year due to our weather. But I once remember that a weatherman one said that more leaves then normal and a lot of acorns, means a very cold winter...well I had both, and what did we get a bitter harsh cold winter. On the bright side...Spring is 40 days away according to the calendar. Keeping you and your loved ones in my prayers.

My blessing, raking leaves, and getting some burned. Keeping all in my prayers. Until next time....

Take Care and God Bless!

Lucy and Juanita - so nice to see you! Raking leaves sure sounds like warm weather, Juanita - we are getting down to -22 again tonight and in Feb. too. Gosh! Yes, we are thinking big! Thinking that Darla and Greg will move to Mpls this summer! That is their dream and ours too. Thursday morning is her phone interview with Metro State U in Mpls. Lucy, glad your husband is feeling better and hope for good results in his MRI. Glad your son is getting more hours now. That will all help him. I love it when you feel like "talking"! Makes me feel like I'm not the only one!
