Daily Positive Thread for Sunday

Most often a gentle approach is the best resolution to a conflict.
Lord, I have been given today to improve myself and make life
better for others. Help me walk in the way that You lead me.

S C R I P T U R E F O R T H E D A Y

"For we are God's servants, working together; you are God's field,
God's building." ~1 Corinthians 3:9

M E D I T A T I O N F O R T H E D A Y

We are God's servants. We can serve God cheerfully and readily.
Nobody likes a servant who avoids extra work, who complains about
being called from one task to do one less enjoyable. A master would
feel that he was being ill served by such a servant. But is that not
how we so often serve God? We can view our day's work in this light.
We can try to do our day's work the way we believe God wants us to do
it, never shirking any responsibility and often going out of our way
to be of service.

P R A Y E R F O R T H E D A Y

I pray that I may be a good servant. I pray that I may be willing to
go out of my way to be of service.

Peace of Jesus to you all!! Hope your Saturday was great and you accomplished everything you hoped for - and now are having a nice evening. Today got a call from my sister, Deil, telling me that our sister, Erma, fell again - and is in so much pain so I'm asking again for prayers for her. Lorraine is still in the hospital, more tests, her oxygen level is good, but when she moves around etc. she gets out of breath, but she's not on oxygen, just having more and more tests to find out what it is. How frustrating for her and the family!
Today my blessings was talking to Deil. Did I tell you people about her son's son, Travis, who is 20, and so very depressed and doesn't want to go for treatment? He won't listen to his parents, when they make appointments for him, he runs. Deil is going there tomorrow and is hoping to talk to him and get him to get help. Maybe she can get through to him? Let's pray. I am so blessed to have my sisters - and being they are all in their 80's I know they may be leaving me for Jesus any time. That will be hard - and I should make the effort to call them more often. I'll try to call Erma tomorrow sometime - hoping she can visit on the phone.
I am so blessed to have all of you here too, to listen to me, and pray for my sisters and friend, Lorraine.
You all truly are a blessing to me and I thank and praise God for you!

Soul Searching Prayer

Does my life please You as I live each day?
Do I glorify You, Lord, in everything I say?
Do I show others Your love in all that I do?
When others see me do they also see You?

Are my motives pure-- I know that You see?
Would I want other Christians to be just like me?
You understand my thoughts-- You're the only One Who can.
When I'm all by myself am I a God pleasing man?

I don't mean am I perfect, for without Christ I know I'm not,
But am I doing doubtful things hoping that I won't be caught?
Are there any hidden issues in the depths of my heart
That, as a born again Christian, I should bid to depart?

If there's any thought or action that's bringing You shame,
Help me to surrender it in Jesus' blessed Name.
I don't want to continue anything that displeases You,
And I want to do everything that You would have me do.

Dear God, in Your wisdom, You know how to keep me straight,
If You ever see me straying correct me before it's too late.
By Your grace You have saved me and forgiven all my sin,
I love You, I thank You, and I praise You. Amen.

Motivation for the Day

When I woke up in the morning lying in bed,
I was asking myself;
What are some of the secrets of success in life?
I found the answer right there, in my very room.

Carry a Heart that Never Hates.

Carry a Smile that Never Fades.

Carry a Touch that Never Hurts.

HAVE A PURPOSEFUL AND BLESSED DAY!

FRIENDSHIP IS A BLESSING

Friendship is a blessing
it's the best you have to share,
The talents and the wisdom,
the capacity to care...
It's being there to lend support,
whatever needs arise,
It's making sure that others know
they're special in your eyes...

Friendship is a blessing,
and, to all who have a friend,
It's one of the most precious gifts
that life could ever send.

EVERY STORM WILL END
By Bo Sanchez
Fenruary 28. 2010

Did you suffer a loss recently?
A job? A relationship? Material things stolen from you?
Many of my friends lost many things in the recent flood.
My friends lost homes. My friends lost businesses. With tears, my
auntie said, "Bo, I lost all the material things I've collected over
the past 50 years of my life!" Some friends told me that what was most
painful was loosing all their photographs—the memories of a lifetime.
Friend, I've got a message for you today: Believe that every storm
will end. And after the storm, a new morning begins.
Remember that every loss is temporary.
If you lost a loved one, that loss is temporary. In heaven, you'll see
your beloved again and your reunion will last forever.
If you lost photographs, believe that in heaven, God will give back to
you DVD copies of all the sweetest memories you've had in your life.
(I'm not sure what video version they use up there, but I'm sure it'll
be the most modern. Perhaps it'll be a virtual reality video!)
If you lost material things or opportunities or relationships, believe
that God is creating room for something better to come your way.
How will this "better" happen?
Start being grateful.
That's not a typo.
In the midst of your loss, be thankful.
I know you'll complain, "Bo, there's nothing to be thankful for! I
lost half my life!"
Well, be thankful for the other half that you still have.
Don't focus on what you lost, focus on what you still have.
You've got too many good things happening to you to be down!
Say this with me, "I'm too blessed to be stressed." (Not original from
me. Got it from a bumper sticker.)
Why be grateful?
Because you attract what you focus on. I've said that before so many
times, but I'll keep saying it until God calls me home. Because it's
so powerful.
When you become grateful, you attract more of what you're grateful
for.
Gratitude is a blessings magnet.

My Business Loss

Many years ago, I lost a lot of money in a businesses venture.
It was a big loss for me. At that time, I lost almost my entire net
worth.
I was tempted to mope, to sulk, to carry a heavy burden for a long
time.
Actually, I allowed myself to grieve for awhile—which was very
healthy.
But I decided not to grieve for too long, or I would be stuck forever.
After some time, I declared, "God has something better for me."
I chose to smile. I chose to look at the brighter side. I chose to
believe that better businesses would come my way. In fact, I began
declaring the unbelievable. I said, "I'll earn ten times what I lost!"
Later that week, a friend asked me, "Is it true that you lost a lot of
money in that business?"
I said, "Yes, I did."
"It happens to you too, huh? And I thought people like you are exempt
from these things. So why are you smiling?"
"Because I believe God is redirecting me to a better business. And I
know that I'll earn ten times what I lost."
It was a big claim and some friends couldn't understand why I was so
relaxed.
But a few years later, what I declared happened.
I started new businesses and I began to earn ten times what I lost.
What I lost—my savings for years—I earned in a few months. Today, my
new businesses are multiplying. I ask myself sometimes, "What if I
didn't fail in that business? I would still be stuck in that business!
I wouldn't have the new business that I have now."
And imagine if kept moping and sulking—would I have seen the new
opportunities around me? Imagine if I kept mourning my loss—would I
have had the energy to venture into something new?
Friend, don't focus at the problems in your life.
Don't focus on what you loss.
Instead, focus on two things: look at what you still have and look at
the new things that God will give you.
And be grateful.

Closing Prayer:
The Memorare

Remember, O most loving Virgin Mary, that never was it known that anyone who fled to your protection, implored your help, or sought your intercession was left unaided. Inspired with this confidence, we turn to you, O Virgins of virgins, our Mother. To you we come, before you we stand, sinful and sorrowful. O Mother of the Word Incarnate, do not despise our petitions, but in your mercy hear us and answer us. Amen.

Good night everyone - Enjoy your Sunday - may you all have a great Mass or Service! God be with you and sweet dreams.
