Daily Positive Thread for Sunday

Hello my friends! Today was spent freezing 25 more quarts of sliced apples, which I'll use in Apple desserts, or just plain fried apples with cinnamon - delicious! Monday we're having cards here in the afternoon, so I'll make an Apple Crisp. I sure got worn out being on my feet so much with the apples, that I didn't finish - yes, there's more there. They are off our trees, and are delicious to eat just the way they are, too. Many blessings from God from our garden and trees, and raspberries!! Can you share at least one blessing He gave you?

Our body is the temple of God and our soul is His image. It is the devil's
work to make us forget that and feel useless, incapable and worthless.
Lord, I will not deny Your existence in me. I am strong and capable
because You live and work through me.

"In my Father's house there are many dwelling places. If it were not
so, would I have told you that I go to prepare a place for you? And
if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again and will take
you to myself, so that where I am, there you may be also." ~John
14:2-3

We can look at the world as our Father's house. We can think of all
people we meet as guests in our Fathers house, to be treated with love
and consideration. We can look at ourselves as servants in our
Father's house, as servants of all. We can think of no work as
beneath us. We can be ready to do all we can for others who need our
help. There is gladness in God's service. There is much satisfaction
in serving the highest that we know. We can express our love for God
in service to all
who are living with us in our Father's house.

I pray that I may serve others out of gratitude to God. I pray that
my work may be a small repayment for God's grace so freely given me.

Bless me, heavenly Father -
forgive my erring ways.
Grant me strength to serve Thee,
put purpose in my days.
Give me understanding,
enough to make me kind.
So I may judge all people
with my heart not my mind.
Teach me to be patient
in everything I do,
Content to trust Your wisdom
and to follow after You.
Help me when I falter
and hear me when I pray,
And receive me in Thy kingdom
to dwell with Thee someday.

Amen.

PRAYER SEEKING GOD'S LOVE

O God, loving Father, fill me with your infinite love and affection. Let me
remain in your steadfast love. Remove from me the feeling that no one loves
me. Take away from me the sorrowful thought that I am unwanted. I am yours
and yours only. You are my refuge. Loving Father, I acknowledge with
gratitude, in your sending your only begotten Son, Jesus Christ for my
salvation. Jesus, my loving Lord, I praise you, for cleansing me of my sins
and granting me the position of a child of God, through your death on
Calvary. O Holy Spirit, love of God, come and fill me. Let the flame of the
love of God blaze in me without ever dying out. Amen.

Meet God in the morning

I met God in the morning
when my day was at its best
His Presence was like sunshine
like a glory in my breast.

All day long He sailed beside me,
all day long He stayed with me,
And we sailed thru gentle waters
over a very troubled sea.

Other ships were torn and battered,
Other ships where so distressed
But the winds that seemed to guide them
Brought to me a peace and rest.

When I think of other mornings
with a keen remorse of mind
when I too had loosed the moorings
with His Presence left behind.

Now I think I know the secret
learnt thru many a troubled way.
You must meet God in the morning
if you want Him thru the day...

Why Are You Angry?

Anger is about the silliest thing that we let ourselves fall into. It is
also the bitterest root in our heart. If we truly look into our heart most
of the time that anger is out of jealousy because someone else was righteous
and we fell short. Just as God asked Cain, "If you do what is right, will
you not be accepted." Cain was angry out of his own guilt. Sometimes we use
anger to make others pay for what we have done or failed to do.

Gen 4:6-7

6 Then the LORD said to Cain, "Why are you angry? Why is your face downcast?

7 If you do what is right, will you not be accepted? But if you do not do
what is right, sin is crouching at your door; it desires to have you, but
you must master it."

* We are not thankful for what we have until we are willing to give it away
to someone that needs it more than we do.

When I say . . . "I am a Christian"
I'm not shouting "I'm clean living."
I'm whispering "I was lost,"
Now I'm found and forgiven.

When I say . . . "I am a Christian"
I don't speak of this with pride.
I'm confessing that I stumble
and need Christ to be my guide.

When I say . . . "I am a Christian"
I'm not trying to be strong.
I'm professing that I'm weak
and need His strength to carry on.

When I say . . . "I am a Christian"
I'm not bragging of success.
I'm admitting I have failed
and need God to clean my mess.

When I say . . . "I am a Christian"
I'm not claiming to be perfect,
My flaws are far too visible
but, God believes I am worth it.

When I say . . . "I am a Christian"
I still feel the sting of pain,
I have my share of heartaches
So I call upon His name.

When I say . . . "I am a Christian"
I'm not holier than thou,
I'm just a simple sinner
who received God's good grace, somehow.

MY PRAYER

May the Holy Communion be my strong defense against all my enemies, visible
and invisible, and the perfect calming of all my evil impulses, bodily and
spiritual.
May it unite me more closely to you, the one true God, and lead me safely
through death to everlasting happiness with you.
And I pray that you will lead me, a sinner, to the banquet where you, with
your Son and Holy Spirit, are true and perfect light, total fulfillment,
everlasting joy, gladness without end, and perfect happiness to your saints.
Grant this through Christ our Lord. Amen.

Mother Teresa Said...

Jesus, you have given everything, life, blood, all. Now it is my turn. I put
everything into the field also. The common soldier fights in the ordinary
lines, but the devoted one tries to be near the captain to share his fate.
This is the spirit of Christ.
