Daily Positive Thread for Sunday

Prayer helps us see that God is not the cause of unpleasant happenings, but

the healing of them. Lord, I trust in You for the right outcomes in all situations.

Scripture for the day:

"My vows to you I must perform, O God; I will render thank offerings to you.

For you have delivered my soul from death, and my feet from falling, so that

I may walk before God in the light of life." ~Psalm 56:12-13

Meditation for the day:

I will never forget to say thank you to God, even on the grayest days. My

attitude can be one of humility and gratitude. Saying thank you to God is a

daily practice that is absolutely necessary. If a day is not one of

thankfulness, the practice has to be repeated until it becomes so. Gratitude

is a necessity for those who seek to live a better life.

Prayer for the day:

I pray that gratitude will bring humility. I pray that humility will bring

me to live a better life.

Hello my friends! Today I was blessed by Lori picking me up to go shopping, and she made supper for us, and the roads got icy, so she's staying overnight. We played some games after supper, mostly just visiting - and playing with her dog, Ollie. Linus worked 6 hours today - but that was too much on his feet and they hurt - so he said never again will he work that many hours. We heard some bad news this morning - his brother Ron has a tumor in his intestine, but it's 99% cancer free - praise God, but he's going to have surgery at the Mayo Clinic to get it out. The tumor is aggressive and so they plan to remove it as soon as possible. Praying for all of you, and thanks for your prayers for us.

Contemplation

Our natural state of being is to bask in the radiant joy of peace, love and harmony.

We have within us a higher and a lower nature which are occasionally at odds.

Our higher nature thrives on Love while our lower nature struggles with fear.

As our higher nature becomes increasingly evolved we are able to cultivate blissful love as we rise above delusive fear through peaceful contemplation.

When unfettered our soul is omniscient and beholds God through intuition.

In order to feel Love we can choose to focus our thoughts on higher truths.

In intuitional communion we can align our thoughts, actions, life and will with God’s words of spiritually awakening truth until we know with certainty the

kingdom of heavenly bliss can be experienced in the precious here and now.

we can then perceive all of creation as being precisely and lovingly orchestrated by God and his angels. This obscure Divine Order is reminiscent of an ever changing, yet always luminously flawless, kaleidoscope. We can see all creation as reflecting an endless variety of scenes and patterns, a succession of changing phases and actions, shifting values and information, constantly

methodically evolving, being eternally uplifting and unfathomably precise.

We get a glimpse of the perfection we are all interconnected with and we are reminded eternal life is a great adventure which becomes progressively

more rewarding as we climb the unimaginable heights of spiritual evolution.

This perceivable perfection will led us to the inescapable conclusion that each moment of life is meant to be cherished, for it is all good. No matter

what difficulty we are faced with at the moment there will always be a light at the end of the tunnel.

Divine Order is correcting and adjusting for the

purpose of restoring the lost clarity of divine sight which is ours to reclaim.

As we progress in spiritual insights and wisdom life gets better and our trials become less burdensome. We become more deeply immersed in Love and light

until eventually we are free to live with God in a paradise of contemplation.

One has only to lift the opaque veil of delusion and uncertainty to bask in the glowing and blissful bright, fountain of light, love, hope, peace and joy.

We are blessed by the harmonious balance of infinite wisdom and love of our indwelling Divinity as we progressively revel in the heavenly freedom of infinity.

The Paradox Of Our Age

By Dr. Bob Moorehead

We have taller buildings, but shorter tempers, wider freeways, but narrower viewpoints.

We spend more, but have less, we buy more, but enjoy less.

We have bigger houses and smaller families, more conveniences, but less time.

We have more degrees, but less sense, more knowledge, but less judgment, more experts, but more problems, more medicine, but less wellness.

We drink too much, smoke too much, spend too recklessly, laugh too little, drive too fast, get too angry too quickly, stay up too late, get up too tired, pray too seldom, and watch too much TV.

We have multiplied our possessions, but reduced our values.

We talk too much, love too seldom and lie too often.

We've learned how to make a living, but not a life, we've added years to life, not life to years.

We've been to the moon and back, but have trouble crossing the street to meet a new neighbor.

We've conquered outer space, but not inner space, we've done larger things, but not better things, we've cleaned up the air, but polluted the soul.

We've split the atom, but not our prejudice, We write more, but learn less, plan more, but accomplish less.

We've learned to rush, but not wait, we have higher incomes, but lower morals, more food, but less appeasement, more acquaintances, but fewer friends, more effort, but less success.

These are the times of fast foods and slow digestion, tall men, and short character, steep profits, and shallow relationships.

These are the times of world peace, but domestic warfare, more leisure and less fun, more kinds of food, but less nutrition.

These are the days of two incomes, but more divorce, of fancier houses, but broken homes.

These are the days of quick trips, disposable diapers, throwaway morality, one night stands, overweight bodies, and pills that do everything from cheer, to quiet, to kill.

It is a time when there is much in the show window, and nothing in the stockroom.

Today, many want to gain the world at the "mere" expense of their souls.

Evil is contemplated and performed with both hands, yet we cannot lift a finger for our fellow man.

Let each of us examine our own ways.

You're Not Alone

While crying out for guidance,

knowing that the flesh is weak,

From within a gentle silence,

comes the answers that you seek.

When your days are at their darkest

and the nights produce no rest,

in His spirit there's a stillness,

where He summons up your best.

Since temptations are unyielding

in their attempts to gain control,

His grace provides the shielding,

that protects your mortal soul.

Knowing you cannot defeat them;

yet, with Him you're not alone,

as He goes out to greet them,

soon your troubles will be gone.

You are shielded by His blessing

with this armor that you wear

and safe from life's transgressions

by the powers found in prayer.

Your cup is free from sorrow,

it's overflowing at the brim.

You can stand and face tomorrow,

having placed your faith in Him.

This dense, fruity cake calls for ingredients by way of scriptural references. Ingredients are grouped for ease of method explanation.

SCRIPTURE CAKE

Makes 8 to 10 servings

Part 1

3/4 cup (180 ml) Psalms 55:21

1 cup (250 ml) Jeremiah 6:20

3 Jeremiah 17:11

1/4 cup (60 ml) Judges 4:19

1 tbsp (15 ml) I Samuel 14:25

Part 2

2 1/4 cups (560 ml.) Leviticus 6:15

1/4 tsp (1 ml) Leviticus 2:13

1 tbsp (15 ml) Amos 4:5

1 tsp (5 ml) II Chronicles 9:9

Part 3

1 cup (250 ml) I Samuel 30:12

1 cup (250 ml) Numbers 13:23

1/2 cup (125 ml) Numbers 17:8

Heat the oven to 350 F (180 C). Lightly coat 4 mini loaf pans with baking spray (a blend of oil and flour).

PART 1:

In a large bowl, use an electric mixer to beat the first ingredient until light and creamy. Add the second ingredient and beat until fluffy, about 2 minutes, scraping down the sides of the bowl after the first minute.

One at a time, add the third ingredient, beating well after each addition. Mix in the fourth and fifth ingredients. Set aside.

PART 2:

In a large mesh strainer or flour sifter, combine the ingredients listed in Part 2. Sift the ingredients together onto a sheet of parchment paper or into a bowl. Reserve 1/4 cup (60 mL) of the mixture.

With the mixer on low, add half of the remaining Part 2 mixture to Part 1. Mix only until thoroughly blended, scraping the sides of the bowl as needed. Add the remaining Part 2 mixture and mix until blended to create the batter.

PART 3:

In a medium bowl, combine the Part 3 ingredients. Add the reserved Part 2 mixture and toss to lightly coat. Add this mixture to the batter and use a silicone spatula to gently fold it in.

Transfer the batter to the prepared cake pans, filling them three - quarters full.

Bake for 35 to 40 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted at the centre comes out clean. Cool on a rack for 15 minutes, then remove the cakes from the pans and cool completely before serving. If desired, dust with powdered sugar.

To Mary: Spouse Of The Spirit

Daughter of the most High,

mother of God

faithful spouse of the Holy Spirit --

yet also

Mary of Nazareth,

Joseph's wife,

my mother --

hear my prayer for grace, O full of grace.

Pray your spouse the Holy Spirit

to come upon me --

to shelter me from all ill,

to strengthen me to do what is right,

to teach me all truth.

Pray the Spirit come to me,

and abide with me,

and be within me a fountain

springing up into eternal life.

May the Spirit sustain me in sorrow,

sanctify me in life,

and receive me at the hour of my death.

Holy Mary, Mother of God,

pray these things for me.

Once Upon A Pew I Sat

Once upon a pew I sat And heard the preacher ask,

"We need someone to teach a class, Now who will take this task?"

Then God sat down beside me there And said, "Son, that's for you."

"But, Lord, to stand before a class Is one thing I can't do.

Now Bill would be the man to call, There's nothing he won't do.

I'd rather hear the lesson taught From here upon my pew."

Once upon a pew I sat And heard the preacher ask, "We need someone to

lead the songs, Now who will take this task?"

Then God sat down beside me there And said, "Son, that's for you."

"But Lord, to sing before a crowd Is one thing I can't do.

Now Brother King will do the job, There's nothing he won't do.

I'd rather hear the music played From here upon my pew."

Once upon a pew I sat And heard the preacher ask, "I need someone to

keep the door, Now who will take this task?"

Then God sat down beside me there And said, "Son, that's for you."

"But saying things to strangers, Lord, Is one thing I can't do.

Now Tom can talk to people, Lord, There's nothing he won't do.

I'd rather someone come to me And greet me on the pew."

As years just seemed to pass me by, I heard that voice no more.

Until one night I closed my eyes And woke on heaven's shore.

'Twas four of us together there To face eternity.

God said, "I need just three of you To do a job for me."

"O Lord, I cried, "I'll do the job, There's nothing I won't do."

But Jesus said, "I'm sorry, Friend, In Heaven there's no pew."
