Daily Positive Thread for Sunday

If you want peace and goodness in your life you must be kind and loving.
Lord, may I avoid creating misery so that my life will reflect my love for
You.

Scripture for the day:

"My brothers and sisters, whenever you face trials of any kind, consider it
nothing but joy, because you know that the testing of your faith produces
endurance; and let endurance have its full effect, so that you may be mature
and complete, lacking in nothing." ~James 1:2-4

Meditation for the day:

As we look back over our lives, it is not too difficult to see that what we
went through was for a purpose and helped to prepare us for some valuable
work in life. Everything in our lives can help make us of some use in the
world. Each person's life is like the pattern of a mosaic. Each thing that
happens to us is like one tiny stone in the mosaic, and each tiny stone fits
into the perfected pattern of the mosaic of our life, which has been
designed by God.

Prayer for the day:

I pray that I may not need to see the whole design of my life. I pray that
I may trust the Designer.

Hello my friends! Today we are having a rainy day - and we need rain, so
it's welcomed. My husband works until 8:30 tonight - starting at noon -
long day. Then tomorrow he's off and next week it's long and hard for him -
so please keep him in your prayers - we are trying to be patient with
waiting for the appliance job to open, sometimes it seems hopeless, but in
every time he talked to them it was always positive and that they are very
interested in him and asked him to be patient. My blessings today is the
rain watering our gardens and flowers, getting some house cleaning done, not
having to cook supper, just making a good salad when he comes home, he says
that's what he'd like, and always having you, my friends is always a great
blessing to me! Lori is at her Seminar this weekend - guess she comes back
home tomorrow night - on Facebook she writes it's an awesome seminar, so
she's learning a lot. She has a smart phone and she can get internet on it!
Here's wishing you all a very positive day and night and a very blessed
Sunday tomorrow!

Deliver me, O Jesus,
From the desire of being loved,
From the desire of being extolled,
From the desire to being honored,
From the desire of being praised,
From the desire of being preferred,
From the desire of being consulted,
From the desire of being approved,
From the desire of being popular,
From the fear of being humiliated,
From the fear of being despised,
From the fear of suffering rebukes,
From the fear of being calumniated,
From the fear of being forgotten,
From the fear of being wronged,
From the fear of being ridiculed,
From the fear of being suspected.
Amen.

JUST CALL UPON HIM
-- Author Unknown

The boy walked along the ocean shore . . . trying not to stray. He looked up
to his father saying, "Dad, I want to play."

His father looked upon him, with love showing in his eyes. "Do what you want
to, my son . . . but do not leave my side."

"I would never leave you Daddy, I love you way too much." But the boy took a
step away, out of his father's range of touch.

He walked through the surf, the waves tickling one toe. "If I take one more
step in . . ." he thought, "Father will never know."

His father called out to him, "Son, to me remain true!" The boy thought with
glee . . . "At the moment I don't need you!"

His father felt a sadness, but he held his tongue. Sometimes lessons need to
be learned . . . even when so young.

The boy stepped out a little further . . . the water covering his waist. His
father spoke with urgency . . . his father spoke with haste.

"My son, come back to me," he said, "The day is almost done!" "Not yet,
Dad," the boy yelled, "I'm having too much fun!"

But the boy did not have his father's insight so he could not yet tell, The
tide was coming in fast . . . there would be no time to yell.

"Father!" he tried to scream, as the water covered his head. "I need you
now, Daddy!" was what the boy had said.

And in a single instant his father was by his side. "I thought you left me,
Daddy . . . I thought you went to hide."

The father looked upon his son . . . a tear streaming down his cheek. The
boy looked upon his father . . . and cried the sobs of the meek.

"I would never leave you son . . . for I love you just the same." "I was
only waiting . . . for you to call upon my name."

Does evil exist?

The university professor challenged his students with this question. Did God
create everything that exists? A student bravely replied, "Yes, he did!"

The professor answered, "If God created everything, then God created evil
since evil exists, and according to the principal that our works define who
we are then God is evil". The student became quiet before such an answer.
The professor was quite pleased with himself and boasted to the students
that he had proven once more that the Christian faith was a myth.

Another student raised his hand and said, "Can I ask you a question
professor? Does cold exist?"

"What kind of question is this? Of course it exists. Have you never been
cold?" The students snickered at the young man's question.

The young man replied, "In fact sir, cold does not exist. According to the
laws of physics, what we consider cold is in reality the absence of heat.
Every body or object is susceptible to study when it has or transmits
energy, and heat is what makes a body or matter have or transmit energy.
Absolute zero (-460 degrees F) is the total absence of heat; all matter
becomes inert and incapable of reaction at that temperature. Cold does not
exist. We have created this word to describe how we feel if we have no
heat."

The student continued, "Professor, does darkness exist?"

The professor responded, "Of course it does."

The student replied, "Once again you are wrong sir, darkness does not exist
either. Darkness is in reality the absence of light. Light we can study, but
not darkness. In fact we can use Newton's prism to break white light into
many colors and study the various wavelengths of each color. You cannot
measure darkness. A simple ray of light can break into a world of darkness
and illuminate it. How can you know how dark a certain space is? You measure
the amount of light present. Isn't this correct? Darkness is a term used by
man to describe what happens when there is no light present."

Finally the young man asked the professor, "Sir, does evil exist?"

Now uncertain, the professor responded, "Of course as I have already said.
We see it every day. It is in the daily example of man's inhumanity to man.
It is in the multitude of crime and violence everywhere in the world. These
manifestations are nothing else but evil."

To this the student replied, "Evil does not exist sir, or at least it does
not exist unto itself. Evil is simply the absence of God. It is just like
darkness and cold, a word that man has created to describe the absence of
God. God did not create evil. Evil is not like faith, or love that exist
just as does light and heat. Evil is the result of what happens when man
does not have God's love present in his heart. It's like the cold that comes
when there is no heat or the darkness that comes when there is no light."

LET ME IN!!!

John 3:16 For God so loved the world that He gave His one and only
Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish, but have
everlasting life.

I looked out the hotel window and observed a circular air vent across
the way. Many sparrows were flying in and out of it.

I noticed one pathetic little bird who tried and tried to get in the
vent, but all his attempts were in vain.

In Biblical times, there was a watchman at the gate of each city,
and there, in San Antoine, Texas, there seemed to be a watch bird of
the vent ! This watchbird guarded the nesting area , and was the
“keeper of the vent ”, so to speak. The watchbird denied my little
feathered friend admittance to the nesting area, and it made me
sad. Why, I wondered , did he not belong? What had he done or where
had he been hatched, or what was his physical deformity that kept him
as“ the outsider”? He seemed determined to gain admittance, flying
from one side to the other, trying to make his swoop in to the
area. Finally, however, he gave up his valiant effort and just flew
away .

In God’s house there is no watchman at the gate to deny our
admittance. There is no station of birth, no bad deed we have done,
nor any deformity that will keep us barred from the house of the
Lord. As a matter of fact, God sent His only son to give us an
individual invitation into God’s presence. What a wonderful invitation
that is¼.and such a personal one, too. What a wonderful God we
have ! He knows each one of us personally and He invites us to know
and live with him forever, through a personal relationship with Jesus
Christ.

THANK YOU. FATHER FOR THE INVITATION YOU HAVE GIVEN US TO
RESIDE WITH YOU FOREVER.

If you never felt pain, then how would you know that I'm a Healer?

If you never went through difficulties, how would you know that I'm a
Deliverer?

If you never had a trial, how could you call yourself an overcomer?

If you never felt sadness, how would you know that I'm a Comforter?

If you never made a mistake, how would you know that I'm forgiving?

If you knew it all, how would you know that I will answer your
questions?

If you never were in trouble, how would you know that I will come to
your rescue?

If you never were broken, then how would you know that I can make you
whole?

If you never had a problem, how would you know that I can solve them?

If you never had any suffering, then how would you know what Jesus
went through?

If you never went through the fire, then how would you become pure?

If I gave you all things, how would you appreciate them?

If I never corrected you, how would you know that I love you?

If you had all power, then how would you learn to depend on me?

If your life was perfect, then what would you need Me for?

THANK YOU, GOD!

My child,

Give up! Give up those hurts of the past. It's time to move on. Satan
loves to have you live in the past because that renders you ineffective to
live in the present-in the now.

Tell Me, child. What is it that has happened to you? Who hurt you?
What mistakes have you made that you regret? Did what happen to you change
the fact that Jesus loves you, and He died on the cross for you so you
could live in heaven with Him for all eternity?

Can anything or anyone ever change that fact? You know that nothing
can ever nullify what Jesus did for you on the cross. If that's true, and
it is, then nothing else matters, does it?

There is nothing that can happen to you, nothing anyone can do to you
that can ever change the fact that My Son, Jesus, loves you and died on the
cross for you so you gain heaven for all eternity. No one can ever take
that away from you. No One!

Hold on to that thought. Put things in their proper perspective. When
you do that, you'll see that being loved unconditionally, attaining
salvation and the right to go to heaven is your ultimate goal. Everything
else pales in comparison to that.

Even physical death cannot take heaven away from you, for then the real
you-your spirit-just changes abodes. Physical death for Christians is
moving from living in the temple of the Holy Spirit, your body, to living in
heaven.

I know, My child, I know. Your mind is often filled with hurtful
things that happen to you. Sometimes you even say to people "You don't know
how much it hurt Me when such and such happened." Well, I ask you again,
does what happen to you in the past change the fact that Jesus loves you and
died for you, and now you can spend eternity with Him in heaven? I don't
have to wait for your answer, because I know immediately your mind said,
"No!"

Then, child, nothing else matters! Compared to eternity, all problems
are nothing. Loving Me, being in My family, gaining the right to live in
heaven for eternity-that's what's important in life. If you lose that,
you've lost it all. Don't hold grudges. forgive! Nothing you can gain on
earth can make up for that loss, and nothing can happen to you on earth that
can take that away from you- Nothing!

Lovely Lady Dressed in Blue
Lovely Lady dressed in blue-
Teach me how to pray!
God was just your little boy,
Tell me what to say!

Did you lift Him up, sometimes,
Gently on your knee?
Did you sing to Him the way
Mother does to me?

Did you hold His hand at night?
Did you ever try
Telling stories of the world?
O! And did He cry?

Do you really think He cares
If I tell Him things-
Little things that happen? And
Do the Angels' wings

Make a noise? And can He hear
Me if I speak low?
Does He understand me now?
Tell me- for you know?

Lovely Lady dressed in blue-
Teach me how to pray!
God was just your little boy,
And you know the way.

Don't Ever

Don't ever be reluctant
to show your feelings
when you're happy, give in to it...
When you're not, live with it.

Don't ever be afraid to try to
make things better
you might be surprised at the results.

Don't ever take the weight of the world
on your shoulders.

Don't ever feel threatened by the future
take life one day at a time.

Don't ever feel guilty about the past
what's done is done. Learn from any
mistakes you might have made.

Don't ever feel that you are alone
there is always somebody there for
you to reach out to.

Don't ever forget that you can achieve
so many of the things you can imagine.
It's not as hard as it seems.

Don't ever stop loving
Don't ever stop believing,
Don't ever stop dreaming your dreams.
